I think we are set up to go to the SB this year. With the upgrade of talent in starters and backups , we can handle a few injuries but not MT. Defense: With the addition of HaHa and Skrine we have 2 capable players. I think HaHa takes a step forward and has several quality plays that Amos didnt have. Skrine lacks some of Callahan's talent but is 16 games of a a 5 better than 12 games of a 6 (value). Nichols, Smith, Floyd are all taking a step forward, with only Prince the potential of regressing because of his age? (maybe not) I think Tolliver, Shelley, Bush all add depth. Jets officially hire Mark Carrier Posted by Mike Florio on February 12, 2010 5:55 PM ET During his career, Mark Carrier was a hard-hitting safety whose penchant for kill shots ultimately got him suspended. He has since gotten into coaching, and he'll now join one of the toughest defensive units in the land. The Jets have announced that Carrier has been hired to coach the team's defensive line. The impending move was first reported last week by the Baltimore Sun. Carrier spent the past four seasons as the secondary coach with the Ravens.

Somehow this flew under the radar, but Patrick Mannelly signed a 1 year extension today.

I see a lot of posts about a need for a speed WR to take the top off of the defense. I doubt the Bears go that route since the traditional west coast offense doesn't use a slot WR. That is why Earl Bennett was let go, he didn't line up in the slot once last year. Almost every play last season was with 2 WR's, MBennett and Britton. If we add another receiving threat, that will be in the form of a TE or FB imo. Just pointing out again to the guys that don't think we will look at a TE that we may just be holding our cards tight for Ebron if Donald/Dix are gone.

Agreed 100%. I've talked about this myself. Urlacher is being used to fake blitz, then drop back into coverage. This looked great week one, but since then, I think teams have figured it out and the effect is negated. Worse, it takes urlacher out of position to do much of anything.
