For those of you who were concerned there wasn't going to be a competition. Webb was demoted after his poor performance in training camp and the preseason opener. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2978879.story

Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 11 Dec So barring something unexpected, Trestman clear #Bears will start Jay Cutler vs #Browns on Sunday. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 11 Dec But Trestman is leaving decision on QB open because he wants to see how he performs in workout later today, maybe see how he feels Thursday I think it's the right move.

Some have talked about how to fix offense or defense, and pointed to defense being closer. This is true. But if the coaches and franchise want Trubisky to succeed, he needs to be given everything he needs. That means weapons and tons of time to throw to the weapons. Here's the mock draft that would fit that bill. Trading down is obviously mandatory. Your score is: 15527 (GRADE: C+) - Don't care about this score. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 19 (BUF): Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame ( B )-Starts at LT immediately Round 1 Pick 29 (PITT): Courtland Sutton, WR, Southern Methodist ( B+ )-Stud WR and Red Zone mismatch, a crutch for Trubisky. Round 2 Pick 6: Ronnie …

Not that this is something new, but it is interesting to see how the media reacts to two different losses this week. KC and CHI. So we lose to OAK in London with our backup QB and several other injuries to the same team that beat the Colts in Indy the week before. Those same Colts just beat the Chiefs in KC. So you would think, things like Power Rankings would reflect a similar outcome for the Bears and Chiefs. We both lost to middle of the road teams (both now 3-2), yet one did at home and one did at a neutral site. At worst, we should fall fairly even in power rankings, which is an easy way to judge how others see the teams. However, that is not the case, chec…

  5. So much drama for this game. Will Trubisky start? Why is Trevathan not on IR and taking a 53-man roster spot? Is Ryan Pace an idiot? Will Pineiro miss another FG and blame the hash? How many penalties will Leno have? How many yards off will Kyle Fuller play? How many times will Montgomery be hit in the backfield? How many Cohen runs up the gut are we in store for? How many dropped passes will Bears receivers have? How many helmets will be removed on the field after a special teams tackle? Will Mack register anything on the stat sheet? How many times will Floyd disengage from the blocker? To hurt the Raiders draft position, the Bears will win this 19-16 in an extremel…

So I’m perusing multiple media site; the growing sentiment is that this season is strictly about Fields’ development. Article upon article mainly focusing on his week to week growth. I’m starting to feel like the narrative is that a losing season is acceptable as long as Justin develops. I’m not sure this sits well with me. Pace and Nagy should be held for the collective performance.Nagy on delivery of yet another lower third offense, not acceptable if you are hired with a background on that side of the ball. Pace for continuing to ignore the trenches, which is the foundation for winning programs. I fear George is going to buy this storyline and just chalk the season up t…

Simply put, this is yet another game in which the coaches had a severe impact on the outcome of the game. They timid, no-balls strategies cause and allow complacency, not to mention emboldening the opponent with all sorts of energy and momentum. OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR The offense did better this game, but simply put, Turner has not fully learned his lesson. He still doesn't understand how to call a game, and all too often his calls are predictable. A shotgun pass on third and short is a horrible call, and then to go to the same formation on another third and short is basically telling the opponents, "Hey, we know it didn't work last time, so we'll definitely run …

AKA: Stonewalling I hope those having HOF votes in the future see this for exactly what it is. Favre is a goddamn liar. What's the difference between what Favre did and what Sosa did during the congressional hearings on steroids when he basically pretended not to be able to speak English? Sosa may never get into the HOF because he's tainted. I'm not saying Favre deserves to never get in. He didn't take performance enhancing drugs. But this should spoil his bid for getting in on his first ballot, IMO. Integrity of the game is a term tossed around a lot by the Commission. What the HELL is this? As an aside, $50k is an insult as a fine in this case. Mos…

I am wondering if the bears are thinking about this with Young and Allen at end and a Ratliff/ Houston combo at DT. You have Bass, Izzy, and those two no name guys we signed not to mention not giving up on Washington too soon. We only have 3 DTs with Rat, Collins and Pea. I heard Houston was a good dt in college. That would give us the most flexibility in the draft to trade down all though I really like Donald. Thoughts???

Winner gets worse draft pick and 3rd place bragging rights, loser takes the NFC North cellar and almost locks in a top 10 pick. I am torn, I really want a win and for us to go on a 7 game run and totally redeem ourselves, but the other half says this season is toast and the only way to get change is to tank even further. If we lose to Minny at home with AP, we need to fire someone within an hour of the game ending.

http://sportsmockery.com/2014/11/report-ja...nearly-benched/ Interesting. Again, if this is the case, it really makes you wonder who okayed the Cutler deal. Did Emery basically tell Trestman this is what we are going to do and you will like it? If any coach would accept that, it would probably be Trestman who is very passive as a whole.

  18. I wanted to get other fan's opinions on this topic because I am stuck in between on this one. On one hand, if Cutler and Forte don't get hurt, IMO they finish 12-4 with an outside shot at beating GB in Lambeau to finish 13-3. That would suggest that they are right there and only need a few tweaks to get there, mainly a #1 WR and a LT. OTOH, the Bears defense is aging with all of their stars on the wrong side of 30, and on offense, Cutler is going to be 29 this season, so he probably has 4-6 years left of being a reliable option before his skills start to erode. I would probably go for it in the 2012 season, and win or lose, dismantle the team after the season. They s…

We the Bears are missing a player here and there to make it back to the SuperBowl. I for one would sign Moss since he says that he doesn't need to be the NO #1 WR. If we could sign Jackson or Bowe, sign Moss and then draft Floyd........Cutler will have an orgasim!! Not to mention how other teams defenses will have nightmares on how to stop the Bears passing game with these three plus Hester and Bennett & Knox. Maybe Tice can talk him into coming here! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill Randy Moss says he’s “coming to tear somebody’s heads off, man” Posted by Mike Florio on February 13, 2012, 11:29 PM EST ReutersIn 1998, …
