I'm not a doctor. I never claimed to be one. But hearing all the expertise here about how Angelo was a complete idiot regarding a 3 or 4 year old herniated disc was inspirational. It inspired me to do a quickie Google of the terms "herniated disc recovery". Well, I'll be damned if the first full page isn't full of free information on how exercise is the number one cure. Dumb Jerry, he should've known better! This Williams guy hasn't been exercising or playing football or anything for the last three seasons! DOH! You guys know everything about everything! Fire Jerry and hire this board! Go Bearshhhhhh!!!!!!!!

From the PFT rumor mill... RAMS KICK BENTLEY’S TIRES Posted by Michael David Smith on August 25, 2008, 1:34 p.m. Free agent offensive lineman offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley didn’t play a down in 2006 or 2007, his two seasons with the Browns. If he plays in 2008, it may be with the Rams. Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Bentley is on the way to St. Louis to have a visit and a physical today. Bentley was considered one of the best young offensive linemen in the league after his first four seasons, all with the Saints. But he never got on the field after signing a six-year, $36 million contract with the Browns during the 2006 of…

Okay, many here are ripping the defense, due in large part to their coaching. I am absolutely one myself. While I still think our coaching on the D is poor, here are some reasons why we may be able to get it done regardless. Not all agree Babich or Lovie are a problem as defensive coaches, but regardless, and for those who do, questionable coaching may not be enough to kill this defense. A bit of optimism from a pessimist. This post is dedicated to Crackerdog 1. No, I don't think we have good coaching on the sidelines, but I do think we have a great coach on the field. Mike Brown may honestly be our best defensive coach on the team. He has shown in t…

Running game showing signs of improvement By Bob LeGere | Daily Herald StaffContact writerPublished: 8/25/2008 12:03 AMSend To: The Bears' 109 rushing yards (on 22 carries) against the San Francisco 49ers wasn't spectacular, but it was a big improvement over the previous week's 51 yards on 20 carries. Most important, it stanched the pass rush that overwhelmed the Bears against Seattle. "I think it definitely helped," offensive coordinator Ron Turner said. "(Against the Seahawks) we came out and threw it a lot early. Even though we had a couple runs called, we audibled to a couple passes because of bad looks. But (against the 49ers) we came out and ran th…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,3991930.column Why didn't they say from the beginning they were aware of the injury and that he had played on it for 3 yrs??? That sounds better than we were completely suprised by the injury which is the impression he had been giving earlier. Peace

Okay if let me be the first to say that if we take Tim Tebow, a projected NFL FB, I'll puke and probably hop on another team's bandwagon. Now, if we suck, I want us to suck enough to get a top 5 pick, so we have a shot at Stafford or Crabtree. I wouldn't even shy away from Cushing, Mualuga (sp?), or Laurenitis. Thoughts, if any??

Why did the Bears front office lie about this instead of telling the truth from the beginning. This actually makes the situation look worse. I would love to hear Angelo's explanation of this. Peace http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...s082408.article

What has been over-looked as part of Idonije's value to this team has been his knack for blocking kicks which has become a lost art in the NFL.Since his arrival as an undrafted free agent he has worked his way into being a key contributor on defense and special teams. On a lot of Hester's runs you can see Idonije's number throwing a key block.I would put Idonije's value on special teams right behind Hester,Gould,Maynard,Mannely and AP. This along with his ability to swing between tackle and end may make a couple of guys expendable.

Manning won't guarantee Week 1 start Posted: Wednesday August 20, 2008 06:41AM ET Quarterback Peyton Manning was in the building Tuesday morning as the Indianapolis Colts went through a get-to-know-you practice session at Lucas Oil Stadium. The question that remains unanswered, though, is: Will the NFL's two-time MVP be on the field when the Colts open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Chicago Bears? Colts owner Jim Irsay conceded "it'll be close on Peyton. Only he will know if he's ready. I think there's a good chance he will be. "We know there's more rehab ahead, but he is on schedule. The anticipation is he'll be ready, but it'll be close." Manning's availabil…

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Sunday waived wide receivers Marcus Monk and Ryan Grice-Mullen, cornerback Leslie Majors and safety Josh Gattis. Monk, the last of 12 players the Bears selected in the 2008 NFL Draft, was a seventh-round pick (248th overall) from Arkansas. He caught one pass for 14 yards in two preseason games. Gattis appeared in four games as a rookie with the Bears last season, registering four special teams tackles after being signed to the active roster Oct. 2. Grice-Mullen and Majors both entered the NFL this year as undrafted free agents from Hawaii and Indiana, respectively. The Bears roster now stands at 75, meaning that Chicago…

I keep reading reports and articles about this Bolt guy. I know he's the fastest man in the world, and it doesn't appear to be close. His races have been amazing, and his size is impressive. The thing is, I keep hearing/reading stuff about this guy becoming an NFL receiver. For instance: Bolt as a WR. What do you guys make of the idea? Willie Gault turned out pretty good for the Bears. Imagine a guy who is not only easily faster than gault, but also bigger and stronger? I don't think the Bears should do it considering their WR logjam, but it's an interesting idea. Nobody in the NFL could cover him one-on-one.

  20. OFFENSE - Overall, looked good QB - Orton looked good. Poised. On target. I was very please with his performance. Did anyone else notice Orton switch jersey after halftime. First half he had the short elastic sleeves, 2nd half the loose sleeves? Wonder why. Rex has lost all confidence. Hes done. cook him. RB - Forte looked good. He seems to have really good vision. Jones had a very nice run on his first play. I think he will turn out to be a very good pick up for us this year. McKie, you have to catch the ball! WR - Rashied Davis, great game..I have always been a fan of yours. Brandon Llyod, not much on offense last night, but you still get a spot on the te…
