http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-marinelli.html I know many of you will post the disdain you have for having the same defense that Lovie wants but maybe with the players recently added and those coming off injury, things could work out for the better. I like that Urlacher is looking forward to the upcoming season and having Peppers on his team.

Per the Tribune and Pro Football Talk, Urlacher is saying that the report in the Sun-Times is false. He stated that he never threatened to quit or be traded,a nd that he wants to stay in Chicago. He also said that the Bears have offered a one-year extension and that his agents are great and working on a deal for him. He also stated that his neck and back are feeling fine and that he is rehabbing well.

Apparently it includes a 1 year extension and some kind of bonus. More coming soon...

  4. Started by adam,

Urlacher makes a pretty strong case to re-sign him. I thought his wording was interesting. He seems to understand that to stay on this team, he is going to have to take a pay cut. I wouldn't mind bringing him back for a 2-year incentive laden deal. This would allow us to focus the draft on other needs. I would assume that the old adage applies here; "no news is good news" but just wanted to see if any of you "locals" had heard anything more on Urlacher's status and his calf. Would figure that it shouldn't affect him too much but these days, who knows? I say keep him out for the rest of Preseason, regardless. Let Roach get some more reps in.

Unhappy Urlacher to skip Bears' 1st voluntary workout By Vaughn McClure Tribune reporter April 6, 2008, 11:42 PM CDT For the second year in a row, the Bears will be without a Pro Bowl linebacker for the start of their voluntary off-season program, in part because of an unresolved contract situation. Brian Urlacher told the Tribune on Sunday he plans to skip the first day of workouts, slated to begin Monday, and left open the strong possibility that he will bypass the Bears' entire voluntary off-season program, which includes organized team activities (OTAs). The face of the Bears franchise informed the team of his intentions to remain in Arizona ra…

Chicago Tribune According to the article it was a scope and the plan currently is that he will be ready for Indy. Even if his timetable is 3 weeks to return, I can't imagine putting him out there after he has been sitting for 4 weeks. I bet he returns for week 3.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ackers-to-lose/ Shocker: Brian Urlacher wants the Packers to lose Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 28, 2011, 4:01 PM EST Yeah, we know. Of course Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t going to be rooting for the Packers on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s still fun to hear a player genuinely dislike the team that just beat him. “Hell no, I’m not rooting for the Packers in the Super Bowl,” Urlacher said on ESPN 1000 Friday. “I have a ton of respect for that organization and the head coach, but I don’t want them to win the Super Bowl. They’re in our division, I want them to lose.” Thank you, Brian. That’s h…

  13. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...rlacher-limited I thought he was 100%. 100% to me means the knee is perfect. If he is having to ice and sit out that would lead me to believe that his knee is not 100%. I hurt my knee but needed surgery. My knee was never the same. I also hurt my knee another time that only required rehab. After rehab once I was 100% i never missed anything or had to ice. My knee was 100%. Hope his knee holds up this season Edit= Starting to get worried. Hope it is nothing.

  18. Started by Ed Hochuli 3:16,

David Haugh thinks we should give it a whirl. What do you guys think? If it was Urlacher and one 3rd, I might consider it. Sure, Urlacher is still the face of the franchise and captain of the defense, but he has maybe 4 good years left in him while Boldin is right in his prime.

I've heard that in Chicago there is a growing consensus that Urlacher hasn't exactly been overly excited about the move. Apparently on WSCR, Urlacher has been getting blasted for comments he made today. I've heard the comments he made on ESPN Radio and he definately didn't sound overly optmistic but he also didn't sound negative. Does anyone think this is going to be an issue? I know I've been pretty open on the fact that I'm 1000% behind Cutler. I'd give him a 100M extension right now if I had to. The guy is badass, I wanted him in the draft that year and I love his gunslinging attitude, overall abilities and his stats (including how freaking good he's been in…

Take a look at THIS and tell me if anything jumps out at you. I know, I know, I shouldn't pay attention to this stuff. But when they just saw the two teams face each other and they're ranking 10 & 11, you'd think they'd give the nod to the team that WON THE GAWD DAMN GAME. I hate sports writers.
