Marlon Brown Hasn't played in a reg season game 2015 2013 undrafted FA. Had a back injury in 2015, signed to a 1 year deal to the broncos but was waived after another back injury. Later resigned by the broncos and released again in 2017. Seems to be a camp body.

We have a much more relaxed and, IMO, confident Trubisky.

Who in this draft is going to be a blue chip player from day one and makes us a better team now? Chubb could be the guy but will not be there. Barkley could be consider that type of player, but he will not be there in almost any scenario. Next will be Nelson, a potential instant all pro type. He would give us strength at a key need and push the O in his first year to be better. Now we are at players we probably have the best shot at . Fritzpatrick can be used all over the field at any DB spot and be a playmaker we badly need. A prime candidate if available . R. Pace keeps things close to the vest before every draft so there's not a lot of chatter about the Bears. Nonetheless, I'd still like to have a thread where we can put all draft rumors. Technically what other teams do in the draft is Bears related. I found this article on nbcsports.com an excellent read. I would have to agree totally with their assessment of our needs in the draft, although I'm also certain many of you would disagree. Ranking the Bears' Draft Needs No. 13 to No. 1

Just based on career stats alone which LB would you take? I'm just curious with the healthy debate of how un-instinctive Edmunds is and that it's a liability early in his career. This is the stat line for the top 4 LBs in the draft (Chubb played DE). In a blind test this is about which numbers catch your eye in terms of what you want to add to our defense. (I have not posted a poll on this new site so I'm not sure on the formatting and if this is going to end up a double post.)

They only have 24 players with a 1st round grade (I thought that was interesting). Here are their 1st round graded players, I was surprised not to see Vander Esch, Davenport, J Allen, and Sutton listed (all 2nd rounders). It would be nice to get any of Nelson/Fitzpatrick/Smith in the first and then someone like Davenport in the 2nd. So NFL.com has player rankings and gives each player a specific value. Their scale is 9.00-10 Once-in-lifetime player 8.00-8.99 Perennial All-Pro 7.50-7.99 Future All-Pro 7.00-7.49 Pro Bowl-caliber player 6.50-6.99 Chance to become Pro Bowl-caliber player 6.00-6.49 Should become instant starter etc These are their rankings of who the player is TODAY. So only five players in the draft are in the 7s, but there are players in the league who are int he 8s, and maybe even a 9 or two. Well, we are less than an hour from the draft kick off. I thought I'd start a thread to discuss general draft thoughts about all teams and picks.

I don' know if he'll fall, but I'd be willing to give a 4th or 5th to move up and get courtland sutton... come on pace, knock it out of the park!! I thought for sure he'd be gone before rd 2...

Pace admitted that he was trying to trade back into round #1. When this broke, it was around pick #25. I assumed it was for either an o-lineman or edge rusher, the two most glaring holes , which are also the most important next to QB. There were no o-linemen or edge rushers taken at the end of the draft. That means there's a good chance that the guy we were targeting is still available. Any guesses who it might be? If he's still there, I'm sure we are offering a 2nd and 4th rounder to jump up a few spots.

Cutler has officially announced his retirement. He'll focus on his new reality show and I presume persue his career calling football games on Fox. I actually really look forward to hearing him call games. I think he's going to do a fantastic job. Was really bummed when he signed with Miami last year (right before he was going to call one of our preseason games).
