I expected a very physical Steelers team to show up tonight on both offense and defense, especially the defense. That's exactly what we got. We had the game in control until we hit their punter and that ended up giving them a TD a few plays later. Yet on the road where the momentum changed in the home team's favor the Bears responded on both defense and offense in the 4th quarter and that is what good teams do. It's not all perfect, we're still missing a pass rush and we gave up far too many big plays on D. The Oline must get better at run blocking. Our first draft pick in 2014 will likely be a DT. As expected Roquan Smith was put on IR. Former Buc and former Sooner OLB Devonte Bond was signed to the team in his roster spot. Looks to be a speed rusher so maybe competition for Floyd during the offseason? With Smith out on IR, the defense has lost Trevathan, Amukamura and Hicks (to name key pieces) on the defensive side of the ball and their replacements; KPL, Tolliver and to some degree Nichols have all stepped up and played pretty darn well. So I wonder if the firing of both Pace and Nagy wouldn't be the biggest moral booster the Bears could make before the season ends. And I also mean tearing down the whole team. I don't think any D-fensive player has taken a team to a Super Bowl win, no matter how good, with out strong support across the board. Taylor, Butkis, Watt, Donald, Sapp, Mack. I know we'll all be looking for some good things to happen this weekend against the Cards so here's a bit of a scouting report from what I've seen of the Cards so far this offseason. QB: Leinart has not looked good at all this preseason and has now been demoted in favor of Anderson. Meanwhile, Anderson's accuracy is all over the place. He can hit some perfect deep passes and then miss an easy 10 yard route. Under pressure his mechanics fall apart. Translation: If our secondary looks good don't make too much of it.
