The Chicago Bears signed T Cory Brandon and CB Cornelius Brown. Brandon entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of Oklahoma in 2011. The 6-7, 324-pound offensive lineman spent the 2011 preseason with the Buccaneers appearing in all four preseason contests as a reserve tackle but was waived on September 3. Brown originally joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of the University of Texas-El Paso. He was waived by the Bears after the 2010 preseason and signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. Bears TE coach Andy Bishoff- No real news here but it's still music to my ears. As I keep saying, IMO if they can't grab one in free agency then I'd honestly grab one in the 2nd. A guy like Gavin Escobar would be all kinds of awesome. Evan Rodriguez kinda sounds like that guy but they may look to utilize both IMO. It'd be nice to have the big athletic Gavin Escobar and Evan Rodriguez who can be utilized in the H-Back role.

Looking at the current roster, it seems like the top 46 players are set unless something extreme happens. That leaves 7 slots open. Using last year's 53-man roster position composition, here are the battle spots, 3 on offense, 4 on defense: On offense, it looks like the last WR spot is still up for grabs and is ESBs' to lose. By adding Moore, the WR room was knocked down a slot, which makes Pettis and Webster likely cut candidates. 6 WR? Can only have one of the following 6 players: WR6 (ESB vs Pettis vs Webster vs Ford vs Fountain vs Reed) TE3 still seems totally up for grabs. Poles could have easily protected him as he can protect 4 PS players. He chose not to. Despite my optimism this guy would turn into a good player for us, given what this staff has done with so many young players I have to trust their judgment. They saw quite a bit of him over the offseason so most likely he didn't fit within the culture of the HITS system.
