The Bears are sending a large group to Oregon Ducks pro day. QB Bo Nix and C Jackson Powers-Johnson are going the big draws.

Year 3 of 5 year rebuild: Poles retains Flus ( who was still under contract) because he went 5-3 at the end of the season. He had the defense humming and the lousy offense got blamed on Getsy. Poles drafts Caleb-Odunze-(TRADED 2ND ROUND FOR SWEAT)- 3rd round T( coimg off an injury that would have went in 2)-Blue chip punter-future edge. Brings in Shelton-Bates-Allen-Everret-Swift- Pryor. Davis blows up, Borom-Bates-Kiran all not able to start the season. Jenkins proves he cant stay healthy and Wright and Jones get hurt. Bad spot for any team let alone the Bears. Waldron proves he isnt a good coach, reflects back on Flus for Judgement. Caleb struggles …

It has crossed my mind that one of the top players that could go to the Bears will come from the University of Georgia. Does that concern anybody else since the Bears luck with players from there have not been the greatest. I liked Roquan, but he made some odd decisions. Floyd didn't really fit or flourish in any of our schemes. Wims and Ridley couldn't get on the field and when they did they liked throwing fists. Now when I think of Jalen Carter, a flag pops up and I wonder if he will be another Georgia Bulldog disappointment. If we trade down and Anderson is gone, I am starting to lean on moving down again.

Our top 3 signings were all seen as "+0.5: Common sense shines through" Lamarr Houston (DE) to Bears: 5-year, $35m with $15m guaranteed The Bears’ defense needed help and in Houston they have added a versatile and productive defensive lineman in the hope of reinvigorating a unit that struggled in 2013. Houston’s top quality run defense (+14.9 in 2013) will be a welcome boost though he isn’t quite the top-drawer pass rusher that they might be hoping for. That, however, is reflected in his price tag and he will be a solid and productive contributor so long as the Bears don’t expect him to turn around their pass rush single-handedly. If deployed correctly this has the…

  7. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ain-in-seattle/ No Tim Ruskell first-round picks remain in Seattle Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 13, 2011, 11:03 AM EDT ReutersDrafting poorly is the quickest way to sink a franchise. There is little debate over whether Tim Ruskell drafted poorly while he was team president of the Seahawks. Only nine players remain from the 2005-2009 drafts when Ruskell was in charge. The best player among them? Probably Brandon Mebane. Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times notes that no first-round picks are left from the Ruskell years. Cornerback Kelly Jennings was traded for a roast beef sandwich before the season.…

Still waiting on McDonald's and Ball's contracts, but I am impressed that we got Foster on a league minimum deal. Ray McDonald's 1-year contract with #Bears included no guaranteed money. Base value is $1.05M. Another $450K available in incentives. Love this. The City of Chicago should have proposed 5 to 10 years ago. I don’t necessarily agree with all these takes, but they do make some sense so given the Bears needs there I thought I’d pass them along. https://jonledyard.substack.com/p/2023-nfl-draft-edge-defender-rankings

How confident are you in the Bears roster going into the season, today? Knowing that Poles has overhauled almost the entire roster in 2 years has me feeling pretty good. I think he needs one more offseason to hit the sweet spot, but we are going to be a pesky team this year. Knowing how last season turned out, how many close games the Bears lost, the fact that 30% of the players on the 53-man from last year can't make an NFL roster this year, and that Poles has also upgraded half of the key contributors has me drinking a little of the Koolaid. On offense, compared to opening day 2022, the Bears have an upgrade at WR1, WR2, TE2, C, and RT. On defense, you ca…
