Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

With the June 1 cap savings applied, the Bears now have over $15M in cap space. So there is a good chance they pick up a few more FAs in this class over the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see where they target. I hope they go after a RG at least.

Will Fuller has gotten some buzz as a buy low candidate. Personally, I'm fine with the WRs, and I of course know the huge injury risk that Fuller is butttttt, the Bears aren't winning anything, so why not take a risk? Fuller, Mooney, and Jones with Pringle underneath could be a ton of fun to watch....for like 10 games till Fuller gets hurt.

We've had discussions about our biggest surprise on offense, now let's get defensive...My biggest surprise will be Mario Edward's Jr. I think his name has sort of gotten forgoten here the past few years with the likes of Hicks, Goldman, and Nichols also being really good. I think right now he's the starting 3 technique and has a really good year. I totally forgot that dude ran a 4.84 40, so the explosion is there to be a upfield 3T.

  4. The Bears lost Tuesday's practice because they apparently exceeded the amount of contact activity earlier in the offseason. Two views on this right now. One is the team is setting the new tone and culture at all costs and losing one non-contact practice is worth the price to have contact earlier in the offseason. On the flip side, this is the second public mishap by the new regime, first the Larry O contract (which potentially prevented the signing of another top FA) and now this.

Interesting move, they must like some of the younger Edge/DEs. They freed up even more cap space by releasing Attacochu. Pennel was signed by the Bears a few years ago, but never made the team. Seems like just another body for the D-Line.

Gents, TalkBears Keeper League has been renewed for 2022 (now in our 13th year). https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/77716 We have 84 days before the season starts. Since it is hard to track everyone down in the offseason, I just wanted to verify everyone is still wanting to participate this year. I haven't listened to the interview, just read the summary here: https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-more-organized-now-says-darnell-mooney Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/darnell-mooney-in-studio-time-to-cash-in-on-white-sox/id1210156055?i=1000567483239 In a podcast interview with Redline Radio, described Matt Eberlus' team as entirely organized and the Matt Nagy regime, well, not so much. "It's night and day, man," Mooney said on the podcast about Bears practices now. "It's smooth. I mean everything. Everybody knows where to go, when to do something, what's the expectation, what's the standard. You know what you're getting out…

This was a couple days ago and leaves just one draftee, Brisker, pending. I'd expect that to be done soon but it also depends on when Brisker is available to sign if he chose to go out of town during his break. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-sign-top-draft-pick-kyler-gordon

Those doubts are gone after this: https://bearswire.usatoday.com/lists/bears-fans-have-mixed-reactions-on-ryan-poles-decision-to-fire-lamar-soup-campbell/ This is definitely not a Pace move but it does resemble a Jimmy Johnson, for those who remember him from decades ago. There has to be something behind it that Poles found out about while Soup was on vacation and that was it. There are no sacred cows in this organization. Poles is the man and he's owning it. I'm good with it now we'll wait to see the results.

  11. I thought this was interesting. Considering it is a 17-game season, most people see the Bears going 6-11 or worse. With the Bears schedule, it seems like this would be less likely than the over, but if Fields doesn't take a leap in his 2nd season, then it seems way more likely.

Has anybody been to this? I scored tickets and I was just wondering what to expect since I’ve never been there. I attended camp at Bourbonais every year but this is a new experience.

I felt like this deserved its own thread. He comes over from the Pats, been in the doghouse for most of his career. This is what they were saying about him before last season: It looks like the Pats tried to have him do too much. If the Bears can shrink his responsibilities and routes, he may be more productive.

Not too surprising. His play at the end of his time in Chicago showed he no longer had the mindset to be an elite player. I'm sure Poles saw the same thing in his evaluations. DT Eddie Goldman informs Falcons he intends to retire

I've been noticing all the teams coming up with alternate helmets this year. The Bengal's white version, the Jet's black, etc... So it doesn't surprise me that the Bears will use an alternate orange helmet during the season. The Bears will wear the new orange helmets on Oct. 13 against the Washington Commanders and on Oct. 30 at the Dallas Cowboys.

This would be a huge signing. He was one of the RGs I wanted at the beginning of free agency once they missed out on Bates. Very reliable and not many penalties. Would be a plug-and-play RG and instant upgrade there. A Whitehair-Patrick-Schofield interior would be very solid and an upgrade at basically 2 positions from last year (Patrick > Mustipher, Schofield > Daniels).

  20. So much for people riding Poles on this. I think he is doing a good job. The Smith holdout will pass. remember, Smith held out on his rookie deal. He doesnt have an agent, that is what he does.
