Today on my facebook I've had an article talking about 5th round draft pick Johnny Knox and one about 6th round Patrick Mannelly. The point of what was posted was their rounds. I love them both as Bears, but they are both exceptions to the rule. I know the Bears have a lot of lower picks, but I mean really.... Are they going for a we got rid of of the Black Unicorn but you may get one of these guys kind of thing?

i don't get it. this should be one of the most important free agents on the market for the bears since gaithers was signed by the chargers. it would make this team more than just a little better. also the center, chris myers, for the texans is out there along with wells from the packers. picking up a good stop-gap center would hold us over until we can draft his replacement and free up garza to compete for the guard position. these can't be cap breaking contracts from any of these guys so why are we dragging our feet?

This has been driving me crazy all season! We are not getting any lanes for him again tonight and we had success with a dump off to him earlier. Why are we not using one of his biggest strengths?

Instead of debating who should start or what the best option going forward may be, how about asking why? Q: Why is Cutler starting? A: Because there's an old tradition that the starter does not lose his job to injury. Why? It's a message of loyalty and confidence to the team. Nobody wants to sacrifice their body for a coach or team with the thought that their standing will be lost during rehab. A: Because they need more film on Cutler. Why? Smith vs Kaepernick. Why? Smith was 7-0 and the highest rated QB in the NFL then loses his job to Kaepernick. SF goes on to the SB as favorite and were beaten soundly until the power outage. Karma's a bitch…

1. Angelo said he expected to make no immediate splash. I can understand why some considered this to be a smoke-screen, but I bought it. 2. When was the last time we EVER signed a significant player on free agent weekend that wasn't our own??? I'm thinking Thomas Jones in 2004. So it's been 5 years since it's happened. Other guys like Moose we're signed before free agency, and other players we signed, in most cases, weeks after it began. This includes: Tait, Fred Miller, Reuben Brown, Brian Griese, Brandon Lloyd, RMJ, Kevin Jones . . . We also, much later in each case, traded for guys like Archuletta, Darwin Walker, and Wale. Am I forgetting any…

Who's idea was it to get rid of Chris Harris? Angelo or Lovie? I know hindsight is 20/20 but seriously there was no need for this move at the time. Even at the time I was thinking this wasnt neccesary. Imagine him in our backfield now.

Anyone else tired of tennesee picking up our draft choices and showing us how much better their coaching staff is. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...69?OpenDocument Gage is 'the guy' at receiver for Titans Dec. 2, 2007--Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Gage, top, has a pass intended for him broken up by Houston Texans safety C. C. Brown (24) and Von Hutchins (34). (John Russell/AP)By Bill Coats ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 08/07/2008 NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nearly a decade has passed since Justin Gage threw his first touchdown pass for the University of Missouri. On the receiving end of the 1-yard toss was sophomore tight end Dwayne…

After two games, I am trying to figure out what the role of Sims is and why we paid so much for him. He has 2 receptions (the same as White on IR and Gentry who was released), and none vs TB (though one INT was targeting him). I thought he would have an expanded role with how much they paid him, but after two games, that doesn't seem the case. If he is just a blocking TE, we overpaid severely. He is on pace for 16 receptions and 176 yards for the year ($333k per reception).

According to Nagy, we're in a "good spot at LG" with Kush and Daniels but we just signed a guy who played for two years in KC but has otherwise bounced around the league. Roster moves: The Bears on Monday officially placed outside linebacker Sam Acho on injured reserve and signed offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann.

Still give attention to that mess from Kiln MS? I am tired of him and the praise that he receives and anything that has to do with his family. I wish to hell that he would just go off into the sunset and never be heard from again. He is worse that Jordan or Magic leaving the NBA and the sooner the freakin East Coast dumb ass media let this idiot go the better off our World will be. Go the F*ck Away loser boy as I do not want to hear of you nor your dumb ass family ever again.

Fields' stats really got pounded by his rookie year with Nagy. That has skewed a lot of his career numbers and brought him down to Blaine Gabbert levels, when he should not even be used in the same sentence as Gabbert. There are several comps for Fields, but some easy ones are when Year 3 QBs get their true WR1s. In these cases, you can see the meteoric jump in stats. To make it easy, I just used QBR, which uses a collection of the normal stats to come up with one number. As you can see below, Josh Allen was a league average QB before Diggs arrived, Hurts was slightly above average before he got Brown, and Tua was slightly above league average before Hill came to to…

This is a great example of the difference between Foles and Trubisky. Foles does this all game long. Trubisky has to get the call from the sidelines, then just executes it to the first read regardless of coverage. So he does make some amazing throws like the ones to Miller but then also throws into triple coverage to ARob. Foles adjusted this play, the receiver, the rub, and the protections all while the defense shifted. Very cool to see a play broken down to this level. So now Foles needs to work on the timing of routes with his receivers. Nagy mentioned that not all routes are being run to the exact spot they are supposed to and he wants that level of detail on eve…

I was looking at TDs today and why Forte didn't have them. That's the major downside he's got when compared to other RBs with similar contracts. The results were surprising. First, remember he only played 10 full games, and the 1st qtr of the 11th game. On plays that originate outside the 10yd line, Forte was stopped inside the 10yd line, but before the goal-line on: -5 running plays -3 passing plays On plays that originate inside the 10yd line, Forte was stopped short of the goal-line on: -9 running plays (6 of the 9 plays were for zero or negative yards) -3 passing plays That's a lot of bad luck, and a lot of bad OL play. If either improve…

Remaining playoff teams and their QB Dallas - Romo New Orleans - Brees Arizona - Warner Minn - Favre Ravens - Flacco (meh) Colts - Manning San Diego - Rivers Jets - Sanchez (meh meh) If you want to add round one losers: Eagles - McNabb Green Bay - Rogers New England - Brady Bengals - Palmer Quite simply the odds are that if you have one of the better QBs you will make the playoffs. It's not always true and you usually have some elite defense in the mix too (Jets this year). We've had threads on this topic before but despite how we finished this season I still feel it was worth it to have a young talented QB on our team.

With the biggest game of his career. Four years into his NFL career. .Two two or three years with all of his coaches and players. And this is the passing game plan they go with. Five pass plays over ten yards and only one completion. One interception. The coaching staff does not have more faith in him than that game plan was the best he could handle..

There has been a lot of talk about problems on the OL. Who will start at LT. Who will start at LG. However it pans out, consider who will more likely be protecting Rex Grossman tomorrow night. LT - Cody Balogh LG - Anthony Oakley C - Josh Beekman RG - Tyler Reed RT - Kirk Barton How many starts does this group have combined? Um, would that be zero? Wanna bet Rex is petitioning the league front office for the right to wear a red jersey in the first pre-season game.
