Urlacher's contract is up at the end of the 2011 season, and we all know with how his back problems are still there despite what he says, we can almost guarantee he retires after that season. Now the question: Will the Bears win a Super Bowl with Urlacher? Explain your reasoning, and give some predictions on who'll lead us in some statistical categories in the year you think they'll win, like tackles, rushing yards, receiving yards, TD's thrown, etc.

I guess they were waiting for the cameras, probably asked to by the league. Both are signed. And Caleb didnt try to change the league after all. That was just narrative from before the draft because he didnt have a PR person countering anything so the stories went wild - probably from teams in the top 5 hoping to shake him loose. Anyway the nonsense is over. We have successfully navigated cutting Fields and drafting and signing Caleb. Hopefully now the business of winning comes front and center. And speaking of centers and fronts, I wouldnt be shocked to see us sign Connor WIlliams, another DE or both.

So I took my first deeper dive into Williams' comp% with some other advanced metrics. One I found interesting was xComp from NFL NextGenStats. It simply computes the expected completion percentage for a QB, and then the difference between the actual Comp% and the xComp to come up with a difference value. The normal is +/- 5. Anything over +5 is " extremely lucky" and anything under -5 is terrible luck. Basically those are the non-sustainable ranges. Looking back, it was hard for me to even find a Caleb Williams comp, a QB with over 500 attempts and Comp Diff of -5 or more. There was only one, Trevor Lawrence in 2021. He had a -5 Diff that year, and the following year…

I was just browsing though the colunmists blogs for the papers and caught that Williams hurt his back and walked off under his own power. Not good.

As per the SCORE. I hope like hell this is just a precautionary measure and not something that's going to linger all season long. Remember how Urlacher missed so many practices with "general soreness" last training camp? Tillman is practicing however Hester is not. (They didn't say why Hester's not practicing.)

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=5721 April 9, 2009 Williams doesn't mind making move from left to right tackle By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 4/9/2009 2:01 PM * LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Chris Williams may still be the Bears’ left tackle of the future. But the 2008 first-round draft pick from Vanderbilt is the team’s right tackle of the present. Williams will flip-flop positions to accommodate the addition of free agent Orlando Pace, a seven-time Pro Bowler who will line up at left tackle after signing a three-year contract with the Bears. Chris Williams is moving from left tackle to right tackle in his…

I'm curious to hear how the majority of fans and AM radio guys in Chicago feel about Williams probably getting the nod over Bostic to start against the Bengals. I personally wanted the rookie out there to start and let Williams come in to spell him while he got his conditioning back a bit. How do you guys feel?

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ CHRIS WILLIAMS OUT FOR THE YEAR? Posted by Mike Florio on August 7, 2008, 8:12 p.m. We’re hearing rumblings from reliable sources that Bears rookie offensive tackle Chris Williams, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2008 draft, is expected to miss the entire season with a back injury. Multiple teams were concerned about Williams’ health prior to the draft. Some were sufficiently concerned to take him off the board. As we hear it, Williams has aggravated a prior back injury, and most likely will be shut down. This development, if indeed accurate, will throw a mediocre Bears offensive line into disarray, …

Let the debate begin. However unfair, this season is likely to cost Flus, Getsy and Fields their jobs. I hate it, due to being so hopefull, but snake bitten is what it is. Poles should be given the opportunity to finish the rebuild, as I believe he has done the job pretty well to date. I've been reading and watching video on both quarterbacks lately and they both have unique skills sets. Both have cannon arms with quick releases. Williams is better short and Maye is better long. Both QB's are pocket first run later, with Williams being more creative and Maye more explosive. This is the first year, I can remember, where two generational QB's will go 1 and…

From PFT: League's reaction to StarCaps ruling focuses on disparity Posted by Mike Florio on September 11, 2009 4:23 PM ET In the wake of Friday's decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit that Saints defensive ends Charles Grant and Will Smith will be suspended for taking StarCaps and Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams won't, the NFL's reaction centers on the obvious differences in treatment, and the union's role in letting it happen. "The real losers today are the players on 31 other clubs," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said via e-mail, "who no longer live under the same rules as players on the Minnesota Vikings -- a resu…

NFL Still Plans To Try To Suspend The Williams Wall Posted by Mike Florio on June 2, 2009, 1:24 p.m. There’s an erroneous Associated Press report regarding Tuesday’s hearing in the case brought by Vikings defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams due to the StarCaps suspensions. The AP report initially said that the league’s lawyer told Hennepin County Judge Gary Larson that the NFL “won’t try to enforce its four-game suspension” of the two players. Not true, we’re told. The league instead told the Court that Kevin and Pat Williams will not be suspended until the first game of the regular season, and that in the interim they are free to participate in a…

Williams' Bear Debut May Be Near According to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times we may see Williams on the field a lot sooner than many of us thought. Now I see why they kept him on the roster. I doubt we see him as a starter until after our bye week but according to the article we might see him test the waters a few snaps before the bye.

JUDGE RULES IN FAVOR OF WILLIAMS AND WILLIAMS Posted by Michael David Smith on December 3, 2008, 7:28 p.m. Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Pat Williams and Kevin Williams have won a big victory in their efforts to avoid being suspended by the National Football League KSTP-TV in Minneapolis is reporting that Judge Gary Larson has issued a temporary restraining order against the NFL. That means, for now, that Williams and Williams should be allowed to play Sunday. The Williamses said they were heading straight from the courthouse to the Vikings’ practice facility. However, this is far from over. KSTP reports that another hearing is expected in the next fe…
