...and Ron Turner is being made to look good by poor weather conditions and a REALLY stupid opposing ST coach. Makes me wonder: Is Turner the problem or is it a bad O-line? The O-line is performing well today and Turner's calls have been very good although conservative. I'm just enjoying some early holiday cheer and fun to watch football. Hope the Bears pile it on the Packers to get some frustration out. I'd like to see another 63-7 final score.

The media has said it, we have said it and other players have said it and so on... The Bears OL is not what it used to be. My flat out opinion is this. Fix the OL 1st and the rest will follow. I believe the Sinclair move to OG is a start, as he is more athletic than Metcalf and Beekman is obviously useless. I don't want hear the rookie blah blah either. OG is the easiest offensive position to learn and play. For off season plans, I would start with telling Tait to tailor his workouts and film study for the right side. IMO - it was a great move placing him at LT when they did, but on the other hand a bonehead move leaving him there for three years with noone el…

  6. Im wondering if its ever been done. We have requisite playmaking ability along the line and it seems to me we could drop 1-2 guys into zone as needed...but really put the heat on pass rush and pound gaps in the run game. What if our starting D line was Brown, Dvoracek, Harris, Ogun and Anderson. Leave Hunter and Urlacher at the second level...and try something different. Just brainstorming. Flamesuit is on. And where do I send my resume for the potentially available D Coordinator job?

Heres just a thought....The Pats dont need there high first round draft pick and with there line backers getting up there in age would they trade us there 1st round pick for Briggs (sign and trade)....before you guys flame out lets say this does happen and we get say the 2nd overall pick and dorsey went first....who do you take???

Just read that St Clair is set to start at LG this week. I have no problem benching Metcalf who has been awful. I mean, he has been worse than a one armed Brown. But is Beekman so bad that we need to start an OT at OG? W/ only two games remaining, it is obviously development and evaluation time, hense why Orton is playing. Either Beekman is so bad that our staff doesn't believe he is worth the development time or they simply have no clue when it comes to developing players in meaningless games.

  10. At the safety position.. I had no idea that he put up those type of numbers. Was this a mistake by the Bears?

  11. Time to liquidate some assets to address the big issues. 1. Let Briggs go. He is good...but not as good as he thinks...the D was bad this year with him here IMO that means he isnt a difference maker. Besides Chicago area uteruses could use a break. 2. Trade Dez Clark...use him to move up in the draft if need be. 3. Trade Alex Brown. Same scenario. The points of 2 and 3 are to clear out where there is depth...and use some of that to obtain additional picks or pick value. 4. Dump Miller, do not re-sign Reuben. Rationale is not a good one...I am getting the vibe that Lovie and Co value veterans over talent in key areas... 4b. If nec…

Here is a true evaluation of the season so far from Bears Beat Writer David Haugh with the following link: Link I may not have said it exactly this way in my previous posts however, David does get to the heart of the matter in regards to this team going from a Super Bowl participant to last place in the NFC Central Division a season later. Based on what David and I have seen, the Bears have quite a lot of holes to fix in order for this team to turn around once again. Notice that he does blame both Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo for this mess together while not mentioning either one of them specifically. See what you think about what David has to say. I t…

I think this is a clear indication of how badly the Bears' coaches have done. Actually, nevermind, it's only the tip of the iceberg. Bears coaches near bottom of league

  17. Started by BearSox,

This is BearSox's Draft Discussion, and I will go over our options for each round. I guess this can be considered some what of a mock draft as well, but I'd like to have a discussion about our options and such. I'm only going to the first day for now. ROUND 1: We have a couple choices here and it looks like we can be picking in the 10-12 range as this team is brutal. One option is safety and perhaps Kenny Phillips is available here. But with no franchise LT or QB, we can't use a draft pick on a "luxury". So, lets take a look at our other options. Trading down is an option, but that is easier said then done. How about LT? Long will likely be gone in the top 5 and Cl…

From last night: St. Clair over Metcalf - although I would rather see Beekman or Oakley play, thankfully they have benched Metcalf. Gilmore inactivated, Nick Roach on ST - He played all 4 phases of special teams. I think this means Gilmore is gone. Kennedy and Toeaini - Yeah, Walker is hurt but hopefully they realize he is not worth the investment and keep these 2 in the rotation. Still waiting to see Hass but at least they are bringing in some fresh bodies. Peace

Four members of the Chicago Bears football team have been selected to the 2008 Pro Bowl: LB Lance Briggs, DT Tommie Harris, KR Devin Hester, and special teams selection Brendon Ayanbadejo. Check ChicagoBears.com later today for more on this story.

The good (yes, there were some good things, just not many) 1. Toeaina. First game, matching up w/ a pair of the best inside OL in the game (Hutch & Burk) and he not only held his own, but made some plays and busted some runs, forcing AP to alter coarse into the arms of waiting tacklers. Walker who? 2. Maynard. He had some huge kicks. One was a huge 55 yarder w/ great hangtime from our own 3 yard line. Several other big kicks, and w/ great hangtime. 3. Numerous areas of defense. We passed up the cover 2 (as we should have the first game) and stacked the box. We did well against their run game, made plays and forced turnovers. 4. Coverag…
