Obviously QB's are way too protected by the rules and, IMO, rules can't possibly protect the QB's. All the rules in the world wouldn't have saved Brady last season. When a lineman accidently hits a QB with his pinkie it shouldn't cost the D 15 yards. COME ON! And this whole "Landing on the QB with all your weight" deal, ridiculous. That's exactly what you should do to a QB when you get there! I'm not saying hit him late, play within the rules. But the rules shouldn't make it nearly impossible to get a sack without incurring a penalty. I don't believe "helmet to helmet" ought to be illegal. Maybe they should make better helmets but if two players collide and i…

  2. Interestingly that Trubisky could've played the best of the three QB's over the last quarter of a season, yet the other two are MVP candidates and all of Trubisky's incompletions are scrutinized. Kind of funny. 1. Trubisky 94-145, 64.8%, 979 yds, 244.8 YPG, 6.8 Y/A, 8 TD, 4 INT, 1 Rushing TD, 9 sacks 2. Watson 77-112, 68.8%, 902 yds, 225.5 YPG, 8.1 Y/A, 7 TD, 2 INT, 1 FUM, 1 TD Reception, 11 sacks 3. Mahomes 80-122, 65.6%, 879 yds, 219.8 YPG, 7.2 Y/A, 6 TD, 1 INT, 1 Rushing TD, 4 sacks Trubisky has more passing yards and TD's than two MVP candidates over the last 1/4 of the season.

To all you Cutler bashers, Get a grip. The man tore his MCL and couldn't play. He got us to the NFC Championship after getting his ass kicked week in and week out. Cutler did not let us down. The only reason you are questioning his toughness is because whoever tell the FOX booth the status of injured players said his return was questionable. If they would have said he was out, there would be not a single discussion on the issue. FOX screwed the pooch by not fulfilling their media responsibility by replaying the injury. The man was hurt. If he could play, I have no doubt he would have been in there. You act like he didn't WANT to play. That is bullshit and you should …

On offense I hope we run the ball and use a lot of RPO with Mitch. I think Green Bay will use a 5 or 6 man front similar to the front they used to stop Derrick Henry. From a 2 TE, 2 WR and 1 HB I’m hoping we can run the ball effectively and when we pass Mitch’s options are small so he can get rid of the ball quickly On defense I’m hoping that Johnson and Skrine are available and if we can’t pressure Rogers with a 4 man front Pagano can use some exotic blitz’s possibly with Smith and Trevathan showing blitz and coming or dropping out of it. I think having Hicks available will be a massive difference to the game earlier this year.

  5. What better way to cleanse yourself from a bad loss with another loss? The best part, the Bears will have 10 days to talk about this loss until their next loss. I don't see any way this team magically rebounds after that loss, not with only walk-thrus this week. On a short week with a good portion of the secondary still out, the Commanders have a great receiving corps with McLaurin, Samuel, and Dotson, all over 100 yards receiving. Brian Robinson has also been great on the ground with 261 yds (Herbert has 196). The x-factor is Sam Howell. He has 4 TDs and 5 INTs. That's it though. If things don't change, especially on defense, this is another loss, drop to…

If it is a bust what happens to the coaching staff? Lets say Lovie is fired then who we go after? My money is on Sumari Mike. He has the credentials now and has such a legacy to Chicago it would only make sense. Much Like Ditka before him. Then his staff Would be interesting as well. Maybe leslie Frazier as D coord. Keep Toub for sure. But who would he have as a offensive Coord? Any thoughts? Not that I am giving up this year, its just a little forsight to what might happen is all.

So the season is over for us now, onto the offseason already. Aside from the obvious (Drafting offensive lineman) what else do you think the Bears need to improve the offense and defense for next season? Two things for me. One, a true #1 receiver-- easier said then done, but without one you can never be a truly consistent offense throwing the football. As far as I'm concerned, Earl Bennett is really the only one I somewhat trust at catching the ball. Secondly, there's a free agent out there that will be demanding a ton of money and goes by the name of Andy Asumugha (sp!!). You know, the guy from Oakland. I don't know where the Bears are at financially like I do with…

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2008...-on-faneca.html Jets close in on Faneca The free-agent signing period opened at midnight, and the Jets were expected the strike quickly. The target: Steelers LG Alan Faneca. The Jets are poised to make Faneca an $8 million-a-year offer and, barring an upset, they will get their man. The official announcement may not happen for a day or two, but those in the know believe it’s a fait accompli. It’s never done until the ink is on the paper, but the Jets are expected to outbid the Rams and 49ers. Faneca, 31, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection. He would fill a gaping hole at left guard, sliding between LT D’Br…

I feel like if there is going to be a surprise on offense, it is probably going to be one of the new WRs. However, after hearing about Getsy's offense, and the commitment to the run game and play-action, I think Khalil Herbert may be a breakout candidate as well. It seems like the schene fits him much better than Monty. Additionally, I could see Monty as a potential trade candidate at the deadline as they won't get any comp picks if they bring on several FAs next offseason. Thoughts?

What I saw from tonight's game with our WR's: 1. Cutler forces the ball to Hester when Olsen's out. 2. IMO Rashied Davis appears to be our 2nd best WR. Not good. 3. Knox & Iglesias ain't going to see the field this year. 4. For all the hype, were Riddeau and DA even playing??? 5. Earl Bennett can't get open. I know the obvious excuses: It's just pre-season, blah, blah, blah . . . I ain't buying it. Cutler loves big WR's. Go get Matt Jones.

Article says the workout will be with 3 other QBs....Wonder who they are?

After watching the MNF game I found myself wondering if the Packers did Trubisky a bit of a favor by revealing the defensive game plan they'll be using against us. They seemed to be blitzing often and from all angles trying to force some mistakes like New Orleans was able to do. I didn't get to see the game against the Packers earlier in the year so perhaps this is what they did there against Glennon? Regardless, I can't see why they wouldn't go after us in the same manner except we have a better running game than Detroit. Trubisky will finally need to get the ball out on a hot read but doing so could be more challenging with another new WR, Inman, on the field. B…

Here is part of a comparison of two names linked to the Bears. Overall Potential Ogletree: The potential is there for Ogletree to not only be one of the best ILBs in the NFL, but overall one of the best LBs in the league. He is one of the most physically gifted athletes I have studied in quite some time. He can fly around the line of scrimmage in pursuit of ball carriers; you can use his speed and quickness to rush the passer either from the middle or outside. In coverage, Ogletree patrols the middle of the field like a ball-hawking FS, showing the ability to make a play on the football. You can match him up with a big, athletic TE and feel comfortable that…

Alright, we all know the following: 1. We're banged up 2. Our O line is bad 3. Our receivers have butterfingers on too many accossions 4. Our coaching staff leaves something to be desired 5. Our secondary is virtually non-existant 6. The DT slots are thinner than Nicole Richie 7. Urlacher is dinged up 8. Orton will have his first start in eons 9. AD ran wild on us last time 10. The Minny D is darn good However, we need to win this dammit! I want Orton to just rock! I want the D to come out of hibernation! I want Hester going off! I think this is possible. We are a trap game for Minny! They think they have us by the short and cu…

Seriously? Codeine syrup? Okay, one, there was actually an organized undercover investigation? arrested as part of an undercover narcotics investigation Okay, do the police really have nothing better to do than organization undercover ops for codeine syrup. If the investigation was for more, then was the arrest for the syrup nothing more than trying to save face? I don't know. I understand it is illegal to have perscriptions not in your name, but really? To me, this is simply not a big deal. And as for the police talking about how some mix this syrup with sprite and call it "sip sip" or whatever, unless they have it mixed, I don't see how you ca…

The good (yes, there were some good things, just not many) 1. Toeaina. First game, matching up w/ a pair of the best inside OL in the game (Hutch & Burk) and he not only held his own, but made some plays and busted some runs, forcing AP to alter coarse into the arms of waiting tacklers. Walker who? 2. Maynard. He had some huge kicks. One was a huge 55 yarder w/ great hangtime from our own 3 yard line. Several other big kicks, and w/ great hangtime. 3. Numerous areas of defense. We passed up the cover 2 (as we should have the first game) and stacked the box. We did well against their run game, made plays and forced turnovers. 4. Coverag…

That injury turned out to be serious enough that it’s still affecting him, almost five months later. Burton is not participating in Organized Team Activities, and Bears head coach Matt Nagy said today that it’s because he…
