Who do you guys think will be gone this year (coaches/players): Coaching Staff: Everyone but Dave Toub/Rod Marinelli. Toub/Marinelli may go because of what happens but I think whomever the Bears bring in will consider keeping those two individuals. Players: Tommie Harris Adewale Ogunleye Brian Urlacher Jason McKie Orlando Pace Roberto Garza Craig Steltz Hunter Hillmeyer Mark Anderson Maybe: Kreutz Jamar Williams

http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/...go/Default.aspx Westbrook would love to play in Chicago Feb 26 2/26/2010 2:53:32 PM | More ESPNChicago.com reports former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook said Friday he would love to play for the Chicago Bears, and he's not concerned about potential concussion issues. "I would love to play in Chicago; I would love to play anywhere," Westbrook said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show on ESPN 1000. "They have a pretty good quarterback there [in Jay Cutler]; great defense. "There's no question that I would love to definitely play in Chicago." And Westbrook wasn't deterred by th…

another thread about how the Bears ownership is cheap or too cautious to pull off big deals. Two years in a row we have gone after and signed the top players available. In that span we now have acquired a top tier QB and top tier DE plus today they went after the best RB and TE available who fit Martz's system and got those two deals done before I even sat down to eat lunch. Peppers was signed before I got to the afternoon coffee break. Wow! You can argue over the quality of the players, bad decision etc. but to say they are cheap I just can't see it anymore.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,1753860.story Stunning what has happened to this guy. He was on top of the world after beating the Trojans and winning the national title. Than in his rookie season he comes in and finds a way to lead his team to like 6 wins in 7 games. Now he's a complete mess and it looks like psychologically he's all messed up. It makes me wonder what would have happened to Young if he played in Chicago and had to deal with what Rex did. In fact, gives me a bit more of an appreciation for Rex. Rex clearly didn't make it as the QB we thought of, but he always had a good attitude and gave it his all and is again trying h…

I've seen this now in 2 separate ESPN chats that the bears are working on a Wildcat formation this week, and that Hester could be involved. Id be happier to see the Wildcat run with Forte and Jones, rather than Forte and Hester, simply because the wildcat doesnt really get hester into too much space where he can be effective

why the hell Orton was in the game with 3 minutes to go? To me, that is down right criminal. Rex should have been at QB to hand the ball off 3 times in a row to Peterson. There is no excuse - period. Peace

Trade our 2010 1st rounder and our 2009 4th rounder to Arizona for Anquan Boldin. We, then, give him a 5 year, $52 million deal. 1. Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma 2. Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU 3. Sam Young, OT, Notre Dame 3. (Comp. for Berrian) Patrick Chung, SS, Oregon 5. Drew Willy, QB, Buffalo Thoughts?

All of you know my thoughts on who is to blame for the collapse of our defense. That being said, I also called for Babich to be the scapegoat. From everything I have been reading, it is looking as if he is staying as DC. Is this Jauron/Shoop all over again? Seriously, WTF is going on? Are they so clueless to think firing the DB coach is going fix the shit we saw on the field? Are they secretly giving the power to Marinelli to save face? Thoughts...

This is a very creative offense. They bring out just about every formation, the wishbone, the wildcat etc.. Their unique running style makes Chad Pennington look like a Pro Bowler when he's really just like Kyle Orton if you think about it. I wish the Bears would develop a clever offense like this, that keeps the defense on their toes. Bring that OC over here

Did you guys see that hit!?!?! Explosive. Amazing. I agree that it's a clean hit, because the WR ducking his head when he sees the contact coming, but how many times have we seen a nearly identical play get called a penalty? I believe we've had a debate or two about the topic on this forum. There is no denying the helmets hit, and Phil Simms is a moron. That is precisely when we have seen the helmet-to-helmet penalty come into play. Over and over again. It's a bogus rule, but if they're going to apply it, then effing apply it.

Looking at CNNSI's mock draft, by Don Banks Just for the record, he has us drafting OT Eban Britton, and provides the following comments, John Tait's retirement puts the Bears in the market for another offensive tackle, and while the higher-rated Michael Oher remains on the board, the word is he started taking on water at the combine and will continue to sink as the scouting process continues. Teams just don't have as much patience for draft prospects with character issues as they did in the pre-Roger Goodell days. He also previously stated, Teams aren't as willing as they once were to look the other way for a player who has either character or medic…

In a response to an email on ChicagoBears.com Mayer came up with an interesting explanation as to why we got a good deal with the trade for Cutler. 1st, he says, and I can not disagree, that if Cutler were to be put into the draft in 2009 he would be the clear cut, by a landslide, #1 selection of the draft as he is a proven probowl quality NFL QB. By using the dradt selection chart: http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm the first round selection is worth 3000 points. Our first round pick this year is valued at 900 points. Our 3rd round selection is valued at 170 points. That totals 1070 points. Let's assume we really sucked as…

The three most attractive veteran WR options out there are Torry Holt, Plaxico Burress, and Matt Jones. Anyone else available isn't going to make the impact that these three guys can make. However, of the three individuals, Burress has had constant on the field and off the field problems and Jones has had very serious off the field problems. Suspensions are looming for both Jones and Burress and in Plax case you have jail to worry about. Holt is a similar age to Burress and his productivity slipped last year but you can point to a lot of factors that led to the decrease (Rams being horrific being numero 1 through 10). Given the fact that the Bears just made a huge …

Who would have thought that a Kyle Orton led Bear team with many missing key defensive players would of whooped the first place Green Bay Packers? The Bears got to examine Orton, Wolfe, Williams, McBride, Toeiana and Kennedy. What they learned IMO is that Orton can go into 2008 competing for the #1 spot but most likely claiming the #2. The Bears should sign Grossman and release Griese and spend a first day draft pick on a QB. Running back in 2008 will not see much change as long a Cedric Benson can come back 100% healthy. Adrian Peterson deserves a shot at being the featured back coming into next camp but if anything we need to spit the carries and give Wolfe a seri…

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8010602212.html Redskins are $20 million over the cap, and even after restructuring contracts, how much money could they possibly free up? Also, I love how they mention stable 3rd wide receiver, then mention Berrian. So is he only viewed as a 2nd or 3rd Wideout level talent?

Donte Stallworth, current NE WR, now an UFA. He'd look good in our WR core if Berrian leaves. However, if NE loses Moss, I think they'll sign Stallworth. He'd be their #1/#2 Anyways, what do you think of this possibility? He'll 28 next November, which is pretty decent. I'd give him 3-4 years...

I was thinking how damn good Minnesota is defensively, how great their o-line is, & their RB's are top-notch. They have around 15 million cap-available. While their secondary sucks, their most glaring weakness is QB & WR. I'd take Mark Bradley/Devin Hester or Moose over ANY WR Minny has. MAYBE Tavaris Jackson isn't horrible, but why take that chance? Sadly & ironically the best WR on the market is Bernard Berrian. (Randy Moss is returning to NE IMO) The best QB available is Rex Grossman. (Derek Anderson ain't going nowhere . . . . that makes Rex #1.) If I'm Minnesota, I do everything possible to address these two positions. I'd over-pay if …
