Benson's lawyer, Sam Basset, was just on Chicago Tribune Live and said he has spoken to law enforcement officials and people in the DA's office and all of them say Benson looks fine in the video of the field sobriety test. He also says it is confirmed Benson could be heard on the tape saying he wanted to take a blood test and the officer responding "well I'm offering you a breath test". Mr. Basset said the law in Texas allows the driver to take either the breath or the blood test and that the blood test is considered more accurate. Goodell and finances I agree with him. It's ridiculous. The amount these guys get paid is crazy, but to see a rookie get it is that much more insane. Some will argue about capitalism, but it's not an equal comparison. If it were, there would be bidding wars on each player coming straight out of college, there would be no cap, and the NY teams would be in the playoffs for 20 straight years like in baseball. It'll be so nice to see rookies actually have to do something to get paid, and not crap the bed, costing their franchise tons of money without production.

First time I ever setup a poll so if this doesn't work right I apologize. I will leave this up for a couple days to collect the votes. If there is not a clear winner (i.e. one player with 50% of the vote) I'll post a final poll with only the top two or three vote getters. From that the winner will be our draft choice. Pixote will be the honorary GM for this. He gets to vote as well but if we have a tie at the end, as GM he will make the final decision on who we draft. PFF ranks us second to worst in pass blocking (6th best at run block, though). The bottom 3 on pass blocking: Long, Bushrod, Mills in that order. Mills being the worst as well as PFF's worst tackle in football. He leads the league in QB hurries surrendered by a fairly large margin; Bushrod is 10th worst and Mills has allowed twice as many. We are looking for two new people to join the TalkBears $25 keeper league. This league has been going on for close to 10 years and is always very competitive. We use Yahoo and collect league dues with Leaguesafe. 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $75 and 3rd gets their entry money back. Currently, the keeper rules are you are able to keep any player as long as you drafted the player and they are on your roster at the end of the season, you didn't draft the player in the first round and you didn't keep the same player the year before. Bears favored by 10 on the road. The Bills defense is very good but their offense is arguably one of the worst in the league. They have scored 37 points in their last 5 games (averaging just over 7 per game) and are coming off a MNF loss to NE. In contrast, the Bears have scored less than 23 once (in a 16-14 win). Just based on averages, we should be winning this 24-10 in a game comparable to last week. It's all about taking away McCoy. Hopefully, our LB's neutralize him out of the backfield.
