I will assume that they sign a WR in the FAgency as there are many out there, and maybe a OLineman. Ideally Sidney Rice and maybe Deuce Lutui, guard from the Cardinials. Rice is young would be perfect for Cutler. Lutui had a excellent year in 2009 and sucked in 2010. Hes 28 and could come reasonable. I also assume they resign Kruentz for another year or two while we train a new center. That they cut T. Harris. 1) Sherrod/OT/Miss St or Castonzo/OT/BC, one of them should be there. They will play RT as Webb moves over to LT as he has the body for the left, and has improved. 2) Williams/CB/ Tex or Smith/CB/Colo, need a CB to start right away and both are ove…

They are reporting sources say Chester Taylor is gone. This was just reported on the Waddle and Silvy show and I'm waiting for an update from Jeff Dickerson who covers the Bears for this station.

It is pretty funny when they talk about a drop in production, but the guy had half as many targets as he had the two years prior. So of course his receptions and yardage would be down. Every WR on Miami had a down year (maybe the QB's fault or the game plan?). Funny that they cut Hartline and Gibson, are looking to trade Wallace but are keeping Jarvis Landry and his 9.0 yds/rec which is less than their TEs (Clay/Sims). Hartline seems like a durable possession guy.

  5. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...SPT-bear20.stng Bears get injury protection from Mike Brown deal Injury history cuts safety's '08 base salary to $950K May 20, 2008 BY BRAD BIGGS bbiggs@suntimes.com It's debatable whether the Bears have protection on the roster in the event veteran safety Mike Brown is injured again. There is no question, however, that the team has some protection in terms of finances after reworking Brown's contract. Brown has missed 43 regular-season games over the last four seasons -- including 15 last year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the opener at San Diego -- and will hav…

A couple takeaways: From a leverage perspective - I walk away from this thinking it is 60/40 they stick with Fields, which might have been strategic. Is going to force a team wanting #1 to blow them away and also force a team interested in Fields to call them with a pretty strong offer. But I get a sense from Poles of - I want to build a really good football team and he didn't seem as concerned with QB as maybe Ryan Pace was. He seems like - I'll build a really good team and keep doing it and will figure out QB, whether Fields or someone else. Don't get the sense that it has to be with #1 pick. Re: LT/RT - Seems happy with Braxton Jones & Wright…

Lovie Smith and Co. Week 17: You milk it the 2nd half and basically let your arch rival into the playoffs. Horrible offensive playcalling (Martz), however defense was great 95% of game. Divisional Playoff: Great game all around, then your OC calls a halfback pass... we all know NFC Championship: Arch rival comes to town and hands you your ass for 35minutes. Your QB gets hurt and you bring in a guy who couldnt complete a pass in flag football. OC terrible playcalling majority of game. 3rd and 3 on a game tying drive, you call a reverse to a slow WR, and an Olin you knpw dam well cant get to the second level.. You have a RB who besides Greg Jennings, is ha…

  11. Cardinals are in desperate need of running back with this injury to the Cards RB Ryan Williams. We have 2 too many RBs right now and this would make good place to send C Taylor. Get a 5th for him would be good, or 6 and 7. What ya think?

For this draft to be an upgrade from past drafts. Pick 1. A no brainer once Cooper and Williams were gone. However, anything less then a B. Marshall career will turn what could be a great pick into just another Bears failure at first round WR's. 2. Filled the biggest need on D with a better be starter day one. Meaning he will start on first downs and running downs first year. Will rotate with a few others but should be our Wilfork for the next ten years or another bust. 3. A mild manner Krutz. He won't punch out team mates only opposing tackles. May start year one or learn for a year then a ten year anchor. Same as Goldman. …

  13. Reports are that starters will play, which is nice to see. Bagent and Co started with back to back 3 and outs against Miami, so I hope Caleb can lead a scoring drive and show real progress on Sunday night.

  14. JUDGE RULES IN FAVOR OF WILLIAMS AND WILLIAMS Posted by Michael David Smith on December 3, 2008, 7:28 p.m. Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Pat Williams and Kevin Williams have won a big victory in their efforts to avoid being suspended by the National Football League KSTP-TV in Minneapolis is reporting that Judge Gary Larson has issued a temporary restraining order against the NFL. That means, for now, that Williams and Williams should be allowed to play Sunday. The Williamses said they were heading straight from the courthouse to the Vikings’ practice facility. However, this is far from over. KSTP reports that another hearing is expected in the next fe…

  17. I keep hearing the rumblings about the Titans taking Mariota #2. If they do, I wonder what they would want for Mettenberger? I would prefer him to pretty much any QB left in the draft, and he's the kind of big, strong-armed, pocket passer I would think Fox/Gase would prefer (see Brock Osweiler). If we don't think Cutler is long for this team, I wonder if it would be worth trading a draft pick for Mettenberger as a Cutler contingency plan and QB of the future. He was a 6th rounder last year (5 spots in front of Fales), but you can't get him for that now. I guess this hinges on how the new regime feels about Fales, but it seems like something that would be worth a call…

Let me start off by saying that I have no problem with Knox being demoted in favor of Roy Williams for obvious reasons. They didn't bring Williams here to be a backup. The problem I have is Martz's BS reasoning for doing so.Basically saying that Knox didn't really earn the position in the first place over Bennett and it was handed to him.Really! How has Williams earned a starting position in this short time? I'll tell you sometimes I wish Martz would not talk and just coach. The other thing that has come into question about Knox is his professionalism. Things like his route running and attention to detail are starting to come out. If the recent whispers here in the local m…

Can Brandon Rideau Contribute? by GeauxBears on Jun 2, 2009 5:00 PM CDT 29 comments The Chicago Bears picked up wide receiver Brandon Rideau after he was cut in the 2006 preseason by the Cleveland Browns. He has since spent his time on the practice squad. A lot of people have been asking about Rideau, wondering why the Bears have been keeping him around for so long without actually doing anything with him. Larry Meyer addressed Rideau in the May 26 edition of Chalk Talk. Brandon Rideau is having a very good offseason. He’s made some nice catches in the workouts I’ve watched, including a nifty grab along the sideline in an OTA practice last week.…
