Bears have cut or waived OL Ebon Britton, WR Dale Moss, RB Jordan Lynch, TE Jeron Mastrud, OL Ryan Groy, S Marcus Trice, C Taylor Boggs, OL Dennis Roland, WR Armanti Edwards, OL Rob Turner, WR/KR Chris Williams, LB Dede Lattimore, DT Lee Pegues, CB Kelvin Hayden, WR Josh Bellamy. Britton, Boggs, Hayden, and Williams are the only real shockers.

They played on the SCORE today an interview with Tice and he talked about Carmi not being up to par yet and might have to rest him quite a bit. THAT IS NOT GOOD NEWS. With the great C. Williams as our backup OT , that is not good news.

Question about Ced's contract. In the Suntimes today, it said the following: "The No. 4 pick in the 2005 draft, Benson lost out on a $1.73 million bonus -- considered part of the guaranteed money in his contract -- when he finished with 674 yards, 27 shy of the trigger. With 1,593 yards and 10 touchdowns in three seasons, he doesn't feel he needs to assert that he's the No. 1 back." Do we get that money back as credit to the salary cap (I would assume so since it was considered guarenteed)? What is his remaining contract (years and dollars)? Thanks Peace

What if the top three OT (Martin, Reiff, Kalil) and the top three WR (Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffery) are off the board when the Bears pick? Aside from being irritated that the Bears needlessly won the last game of the season and ruined their draft pick status, what are you thinking? BPA vs. need becomes a much more interesting question at that point. According to Overthecap.com the Bears have approximately $29 million in cap space going into Free Agency. If the Bears plan to stick with Cutler, and want to make a big splash in free agency, wouldn't it make sense to convert some of his 2015 salary into a signing bonus so the hit is spread out over multiple years? If I am reading everything correctly, we could free up around $5 million in cap space this year by converting $6 mil into a signing bonus, then we would carry an extra $1 mil hit per year for the next 5. IMHO this is what I think the Bears should do in the FA period if all possible. In the secondary Let M.Brown and McGowan go & get Sean Jones from Clev.and Asomugha from the Raiders Move Payne to SS and Vasher/Manning to the nickel DE see if Peppers is still there to Ogun WR get either C. Johnson. T.O or T.J. Hous, Bouldin or oneone to be the number one. Move Williams to LT, sign ST. Clair at LG move Buenning to RG and find someone to back up Tait Find a center in the draft...kruetz is getting old

Man, all I gotta say is that Lovie and his staff need to re-examine how they evaluate the talent they have in camp. A lot of us here recognized that FB Lusaka Polite was a hammer and yet we let him go despite him busting people up in preseason a few years ago. Last night, that guy was a beast. To me, it's nice to have the RBs that Miami does, but this guy Polite is a difference maker. He was leading the way on just about every run and screen, picked up countless blitzes, and when they needed a yard, this guy would get into his block and get + movement every time. We haven't had that here in ages...unless you wanna count the time that he was in our camp. …

I'm not nearly as optimistic as Jeremy Stoltz is regarding our running game. I'd love for him to be right and I do agree that the pieces we have on offense are not that bad. We know we can't protect the edge of the pocket on med-to-deep passes and Cutler will never be a good quick-release short-route QB so if running up the middle works have at it. With each passing day, I can't help but wonder what the hell is going on w/ Graham. Most recently, we read about Bowman going down in practice. After that happens, two things are seen/heard that stand out. One, McBride is called on to fill in for Graham. Two, when Lovie is asked about Bowman going down, he talks about how we have other players ready to step in, mentioning Moore and McBride, but no mention of Graham. I really do not understand what is going on here. We read early on that Graham is being moved to FS. I think Chad Johnson is really trying hard to get out of Cincy and he may just get his wish now. GMs, I have renewed our annual TalkBears Fantasy Football Keeper league, which is now entering its 15th season (which is crazy). At the end of last season, there were 9 GMs that said they would be returning.
