Elliott Fry signed to a three year deal. Interesting that it’s a multi-year deal. Jones is signed to a reserve/future contract. Not sure about Blewitt.

For those of us who enjoy the draft process it is nearly time for college conference playoffs, and then we move into the bowl season. I like having a few players to watch as these big games happen. I still think we will be looking to add someone to the RB group this offseason so I'm looking for someone who should be available on the 3rd day but also who fits the profile of what we're looking for. Anthony Miller has proven to be worth a 2nd Rd pick. Could we go back to Memphis to draft a RB? Henderson is not a work horse type of RB so keeping Jordan Howard for another year makes sense but adding him to the mix with Cohen and Howard gives us one more dynamic weapon an…

I like this re-signing even if we lose a comp pick now (for Callahan). This fills a void at OLB3 and allows the team to focus te draft in other need areas. A crazy fact, Lynch is younger than Floyd and Mack. If Lynch can stay healthy, he is very productive when he plays.

Punter and LS back in the fold. So RB (Howard), S (Amos), CB (Callahan), and K (Double Doink) are the only starters that didn't return out of the starting 25 on Offense, Defense, and ST. We also already signed Davis, HHCD, and Skrine to replace three, so Kicker is the last starter needed.

This dude would fit right in kicking in Chicago in the winter. I don't think we can wait to draft him in the 7th or pick him up as a UDFA. We do not have a 6th rounder so is he a worthy 5th round pick (#162)?

Chicago Bears: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has allowed a passer rating of just 52.9 on throws into his primary coverage since 2014, which is the best mark among all safeties in that time. Green Bay Packers: A staggering 47.1% of Adrian Amos‘ career targets have resulted in either a defensive stop or a forced incompletion. This defensive success rate is currently tied with Charles Woodson for the best mark by a safety in the PFF era. From PFF Why stats and how they are reported can give me a headache. Why not just compare the same stats in the same story?

Surprised no one said anything about this. I know it's fun to play monday morning GM, and for many years (decades!) it's actually been possible that we knew better than the actual guys at Halas Hall making the decisions. And for a professional sports franchise, that is actually insane. I am glad to say that we are now many levels below the decision makers for the Bears, and the entire league sees what a great job he's done. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/pace-receives-nfl-executive-of-year-award

It's pretty cool we get to start off the 100th season with the oldest and most bitter rivalry. On a side note: my father has never been to Soldier Field and let me know it was on his bucket list. If anyone has info about available tickets, please let me know. Also, are there handicap entrances that he can utilize? He can walk, but doesn't have the easiest time with it.

The prize is Houston , I think we're waiting for him to accept an offer and his other options. There are a few other edges out there. Shane Ray and Derrick Morgan had some good years but injuries have produced very little the last few years. Then lynch could be back. I think the Houston signing could be problematic on the growth of Floyd who could have his much waited for breakout year. So I think it comes down to money for Houston.

1. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix - (A-). There are so many layers to this as it ends up essentially being a trade that will give the Bears HHCD and more than likely a comp pick while Packers get Amos and the Redskins 4th rounder. The more I watch HHCD, the more I see why the Bears went after him. I don't know if you can get a better Safety for that price ($3.5M). I outlined most of that in the other thread, and there is the added bonus and motivation of playing alongside his buddy in Jackson. Also, HHCD is only 4 months older than Amos and has never missed a game in his career. 2. Cordarrelle Patterson - (B+). Not much more you can do here. Add one of the best returners to a wea…

I love this signing, instant upgrade to Special Teams and can take the top off the defense. He will replace Bellamy, White production.

He's here tonight and tomorrow which is interesting and I'm sure Jason is happy to see this. I expect somewhere in this trip he'll spend some time with Eddie Jackson. As a player I view him as better in coverage than Amos but not as good at tackling. HHCD had his fair share of coverage lapses too but he's a better playmaker when the ball is in the air. In that sense he always seemed to be more of a FS than SS and Jackson is not leaving that role. If Pagano wants multiple inside-the-numbers coverage options behind his blitz schemes he'll have them with HHCD, Jackson, Skrine, Roquan, Floyd, and Trevathan. What he's looking for in his next contract is hard to gue…

Nice signing, formerly of the Seahawks. I almost posted about him this morning after reviewing FA RBs. Was thinking Ware, Coleman, or Davis would make sense and now this. I like the signing, it reminds me of Trey Burton last season. "Davis ran 112 times for 4.6 yards per carry and caught 34 passes on 42 targets"

We have Howard, Cohen, Davis and Patterson. If we trade Howard on draft day, we in turn will draft a RB. Even if we don't make a trade we are still going to draft a RB, so we go into camp with 4 or 5 plus Nall is still a practice squad nominee. Last year we ran the ball 468 times. As the offense progresses we end up with more overall plays so I will leave this number about the same. HOWARD or draft pick-- 200 Carrie's Cohen had 117 last year, so we give him 100 Davis-- 100 Patterson-- 40 Trubisky had 67 last year, but let's say 40 this year. Nagy likes to mix it up so I think it will not be a load type of back anymore. I think D…
