    About 1-1/2 months ago a lot of us were glowing and thinking the Bears could go 10-6 or 11-5. What are your thoughts now? I know my prediction is kind of low balling it, but right now my expectations are really low. @ IND~~~~~~~ L @ CAR~~~~~~~ L TB~~~~~~~~~ W PHI~~~~~~~~~ L @ Det~~~~~~~~ L @ ATL ~~~~~~~W Min~~~~~~~~~ L BYE ~~~~~~~~(W) Det~~~~~~~~~ W Ten~~~~~~~~~~L @ GB~~~~~~~~~L @ STL~~~~~~~~W @ Min~~~~~~~~ L Jax~~~~~~~~~ L NO~~~~~~~~~~ L GB~~~~~~~~~~L @ Hou~~~~~~~~ L ---------------------------------- 4-12 And if we finish 4-12, would the Bears management keep the staff intact, or will there be major changes?

I listen to a ton of bears podcasts and read almost every article written on them , I'm bored, and so many of these bears people place CB as one of their important needs. A lot of them are mocking a CB either as the first or second pick. My logic tells me that the bears are going all in on winning this year. As I look at needs, I have to look at who is already on the team. Tolliver, Burns, Robinson Xavier Crawford, Denmark, Fuller, Joseph, McManis, Skine, and Shelly. They have a lot of capital invested in the position already. Knowing which ones are good or not are still a question but they have many options At S they have 5 , 1 star and a backup that…

This is a slow time where, I sometimes feel dead and bloated, so might as well throw some comments out there to stir the pot. We all have our opinions about all that has been done by the Bears this offseason. New coaches and GM--most people are in agreement that we have upgraded the decision makers to run our team. Pace is suppose to be an young and ascending personal manager of which I like what he has done so far, but truth be told, we will know more of his talents 3 years from now. Fox, Fangio, Gase, ect. --the coaches we can see past history of being successful at their jobs and I think Fangio in the #1 defensive coordinator in the league . It will show…

There's a lot to talk about in the coming year but lets look at the good things that's happened in his first two years He took a terrible cap situation and turned that around in one year. We had the most cap space last year and top 9 this year. I think he cuts Whitehair and Jackson and adds 20 mil to our cap putting us top 5 . That's a win win. He took an old roster and ate lots of dead money to put us in a good space.Losing always comes with those decisions. In free agency he added ( core team players) Tremaine Edmunds, Demarcus Walker, TJ Edwards, Andrew Billings, Travis Homer, Karli Blasingame . In trades he got DJ Moore and Montez Sweat. In …

I am very excited to see that we signed him as an undrafted free agent and even though his speed is put into question, id rather have a guy that can play football with a very high level of intelligence rather than have someone who is just out there to run. His stats look phenomenal and am looking forward to monitoring his progression.

PEPPERS WANTS OUT OF CAROLINA Posted by Mike Florio on January 17, 2009, 12:15 a.m. At a time when the Carolina Panthers would be required to tender a $17 million one-year salary to defensive end Julius Peppers in order to keep his rights via the franchise tag, Peppers is making it known that he doesn’t want to remain with the team. “The front office has been informed of my desire to explore opportunities with other NFL teams following the expiration of my contract next month,” Peppers said in a statement e-mailed by his agent to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, and possibly others. “At this point in my NFL career, I am seeking new challenges that will allow me to grow,…

More and more, I think we are bound to draft heavy on defense, while attacking offense in FA. Look at our last two drafts. This past year, our top 3 picks were offense. The prior year, 2 of our top 3 picks were offense. Prior to these past two years, Angelo seemed to rotate between offense and defense each year. This year, I think Angelo will be going back to defense in the draft. W/ needs (at least in Angelo's eyes) at DE, DT, SLB, CB and S, I think it makes sense to Angelo to attack defense in the draft, especially as that is his strength. While there have been unquestioned misses in FA also, his better "hits" in FA have been offense (Tait, Reuben Brown,…

  12. I was thinking that maybe we should go after solid and just above average OL men then just 1 or 2 big name guys, like Faneca. We could get a guy like Stacy Andrews from Cincy who would only demand around $5-$6 million a year, and Jason Brown from Baltimore for the equal price of Andrews. With saving money there, we could then sign Berrian, DJ Hackett/Bryant Johnson, and maybe Ayanbedejo. Or, would you rather us address the WR position in the draft and just spend all the cap room on Faneca?

So, if Davis is so highly sought after, and the Bears believe in him so much, and he is such a great fit for the Bates/Tice attack, and Briggs thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread, why was Rodriguez drafted? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7334055.story

At this point we've lost our starting LT and replaced him with Jonathan Scott. Fair enough we keep Webb on the right side where we want him to play this season. Then we lose Jonathan Scott and we replace him with...Eben Britton at LT? At this point I see that Webb is fading from our top 3 OTs. Not saying he's lost his job yet but if versatility is what Kromer wants among his top 7 Olinemen (he said so yesterday) then at some point among these injuries if Webb was one of our top 3 OTs he'd have been slid over to LT for a day or two while Britton, or Scott, took snaps at RT. That didn't happen and Kromer and Co. decided they preferred to see what Britton could do…

  16. While some are not sure about drafting a DT early 3rd, I think it worth pointing out that, other than maybe Michael Johnson, I think any of the players many here wanted w/ that early 3rd are still on the board. The way this is going, I think one or more of the WRs we might have liked (Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, etc) will still be there at the end of round 3. Also, several OL (Duke, Merideth) are still there. Sidbury is still on the board. Gilbert was not going to last much longer, but others we may want look like they will. Plus, if we want (for example) a WR and a run begins, we have the ammo to move up and get one.

Rotoworld has us ranked 29th among Oline going into 2012. Profootbalfocus has us ranked 31st amony Olines going into 2012. Football Outsiders has us ranked 24th. At least I see the national ranking follow our expectations on this website. I can see us being better, but the LT spot will still be a problem. I think we run a lot of 2 TE formation to help on the line blocking, and quick patterns, but I still remain worried the Oline can have a major negative effect on our Offensive production.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,4136759.column Newly elected Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk had some choice comments about the Bears and the Mike Martz offense: "In this offense if you run a slant and a defender is coming down on you then you have to cross his face," he said Tuesday on "Chicago Tribune Live." "But every time I see Johnny Knox run a slant he goes behind the defender and you see an interception go the other way and everyone looks at Jay Cutler and says, 'How did he throw that pass?' That is going to be a mistake no matter who the quarterback is." On the quality of the Bears wide receivers: "I see no pure wideout.…

I called this happening a while back and its now a reality/possibility. THIS is the type of guy you trade for and who would fit perfect for us. I dont know what it would take to get him, but it definitely would be worth exploring. If we sign somehow find some competent FA O-lineman, Id be fine trading our 1st rd. pick; or next years and.....? ANQUAN BOLTIN'? Now that the Cardinals have locked up receiver Larry Fitzgerald at a more affordable (or, as the case may be, less unaffordable) price over the next four seasons, they might have to deal with another thorny issue at the position. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Anquan Boldin could want more m…

Here is a mock draft at TheFootballExpert.com that has us taking Sam Baker, OT, USC in the first and James Hardy, WR, Indiana in round 2. I like this better than the many drafts having us picking QB round 1. The 2nd one from the same site TheFootballExpert.com has us selecting OT Ryan Clady round 1 and QB Chad Henne from Michigan round 2. There are 2 other 1 round drafts on the site by 2 different authors, one having us taking Baker round 1, the other Clady round 1. I am beginning to like this site!! OLTs in round 1, now that is what I wanted to see!!
