  1. I'd tend to agree... Or any combination thereof depending on how the talent falls. We will drafting 32nd mind you...
  2. I don't believe that line to be fine at all. Cutler is guilty as all hell of poor decision making, poor execution...but I don't believe for once he's ever "checked out". He's a fierce competitor. An inconsistent one...but not a Jim Everett.
  3. Don't care... Right now, I only care that we beat TEN. I'll worry about the rest when they come up...
  4. Bottom line, good teams figure out ways to win. Bad ones, ways to lose. Shaky performance in all areas.. Except one. The win/loss column. On to TEN. One game at a time.
  5. Yeah, agreed. I see only 2 yards to paydirt and I simply feed the beat 3 times... You can't get it, you don't deserve it.

  7. You may be right. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now...
  8. Really the biggest playcalling blunder was simply not running Bush 3 times near the goal line...
  9. I thought the same. It looked all well and good other than the forearm to the helmet on the way down... I do tend to think if it were Brady Brees or Rodgers...you'd have seen a fine and probably a call on the field. But that's our Jay. Tough as nails and no one's going to cut him slack.
  10. We simply could be watching something special unfold before our eyes...
  11. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...h-hit/#comments I disagree with Marshall, but damn if I don't love his desire to stick up for his QB. This is the stuff that bring cohesiveness... Did you all hear the outpour of love and ovation when Cutty returned to the game? I loved that! Don't listen to the national (or local) media Jay. We are 100% with you! I don't care if Jay's surly or jovial. I just want him to play hard and smart and well. And I think he's doing all 3. And there is a lot of room for improvement. I love this team. Let me count the ways... 1. It's the Bears 2. The D is playing their best since the SB campaign. Maybe even better. The vets are doing great and the young guys seem to get better each game. 3. The quiet workmanlike job that Forte is doing. For all the hype, hoopla and national bias...Forte is just quietly doing his job, and doing it well. 4. That Marshall and other have Jay's back. The media wants to fan flames that are non-existent. From Jay's pouty attitude to the idea that the city hates him. He must've f'ed every media guy's sister or something without a call after. Screw it. I love the guy because of that. It that odd behavior that makes us interesting. Just like in 85, and all those cast of characters. I'm not necessarily talking skill level...just personality. 5. Charles Tillman is the best damn CB Chicago has ever had! I don't give a F about anything but the smell test. And he smells like roses! He is the best at forcing fumbles of all time in the NFL. I've seen no one else do it so often, so regularly. He also covers damn well against top flight guys. From his keeping Megatron w/o a TD the last game, to his epic game against Moss (as a Viking)...the guy is just so damn good! I love me some peanut man! He's easily the one guy that could have made the 85 D even better. 6. We're adjusting. Yup. It seems like we learned our lesson. We actually make changes during the game! Yeah, in GB, we went to our old ways. But it appears we learned form that. It'll interesting how we play them at the end of the year. 7. Kudos to management. From bringing in Marshall and Campbell, to drafting Shae and Alshon, management has improved this squad. yeah, OL wasn't addressed. This hop is that it will be next season. This is of course to bolster our SB winning team even more mind you... 8. We win when we should. All that games we should win, we have. Some not as pretty as others. Good teams find ways to win, bad ones find ways to lose. I see that theme continuing. If so, we should easily be in the playoffs. If we can win a few games we shouldn't, we'll even be in better position. 9. Kudos to the coaches. Yeah Alaska, I'm giving Smith props! Whether it's the coordinators making better calls and adjustments or whether the edict is coming from Smith...it matter not. If I'm going to harsh on Smith as leader when things go wrong, he deserves credit when it goes right. And it's going right. Maybe he's learned from the past. Maybe his coord's are doing it on their own accord. We probably will never know. But, credit is due to all coaches. And that includes the top. The O is performing just well enough with room for improvement. The D is playing lights out. Only ST is struggling. But I have faith in Toub that it'll turnaround at when we need them most. It's a different crew, and it takes some time to gel. 10. The fans. We are the best f'in fan base out there! I love being a part of this board and hearing the intelligent conversation come out. I get that when I run into fans on the street in LA as well. Our fans know our team. They know the game. They know football. I love it! Yeah, there are some yahoos...but they are at a minimum. And the team knows this. I can imagine Jay is happier than a pig in slop over the reception he got on Monday after coming back from the injury. All the players feel the love. And they respond in kind. I heard on the Score last night that Jay brought the family of the slain fan in Jacksonville to the game. Just as a pleasant distraction to their pain. It sounded like he wasn't going to being it up until the reporter asked. Yeah. I like me that kind of a$$hole. Keep doing what you do Jay. You rock! Bear the F down! I'm pumped up!
  12. Not to horn in on the conversation (but I guess I am!).... I'm happy with a win no matter what. Some I'm happier with than others. This was a stressful game that probably shouldn't have been. There's lots of room for improvement. There were lots to like and few to not like... I think we all know that we are playing lights out D. We all know that the turnovers may stop. The dropped passes may stop. And we will need O or ST to do something spectacular. Which, they can. So, I think I leave a game like this thinking: 1. This was a game we should have won, and we did. 2. This was a game we could have played better, and hopefully will. 3. Detroit is probably better than their record and mistakes show. Beating them was good. Not great, but good. We are on track for getting into the playoffs. And if we can continue to grow on O, we could be peaking at the best time. If not, at least our D will scare people.
  13. Here's how I would rank them... 1. NYG - They are playing well and have shown they can win in the regular and post season 2. Falcons - They are undefeated, well rounded...but haven't proven anything in the post 3. Texans - Playing really well, only one loss 4. Niners - basically same as Texans 5. Bears - D is out of this world, O is progressing slowly 6. Pats - They have no D, they are struggling against inferior teams, but they are dangerous in the post. So, I think we are top 5...barely.
  14. Just one of many things Gruden mad errors on...
  15. Thanks for your input. He is still almost virtually a rookie...
  16. Agreed. But no complaints that Cutty stuck it out. It showed character. A couple points... 1. I think the Suh hit was not illegal. Although, that kind of sack coming from a guy with that history makes me give him less benefit of the doubt. The only really bad part I saw was the driving of the helmet into the turf with the forearm. 2. The D was spectacular. We stopped megatron cold. Tillman is a man. Mass kudos! Sure, we gave up a gimme in the prevent crap we all hate. But, that Lions team has it in them to light it up. We barely even let them strike the match. 3. The O was off after Cutler's hit. We never really bounced back. But Tice leaned on the run a lot more. I like that. it wasn't as successful, but it was successful enough. 4. We have to stop the dumb offensive line penalties. Garza? WTF!? You should do better! 5. Carimi is still a rookie. He makes the dumb mistake every now and then. Overall, he seems like he'll be a good player. Not epic, but good. But, he;ll make more mistakes until he really gets the game. I love the team. There is so much to like. I don't think we class up against NYG right now...but we have over a 1/2 a season to better ourselves. Our upside is silly. Keep it up Bears!
  17. I too am concerned with that. jason, thoughts?
  18. I believe you are correct in your assessment.
  19. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...isfranc-injury/ Amazing. No Tweet from Cutler calling him a pu$$y. Karma's a bitch Maurice. I don't like seeing guys hurt. But, I don't feel sorry for the guy either.
