Bills leaning towards cutting Tyrod?
I like him over McCarron... It'd be a cash loss, and we keep all picks. I wouldn't mind signing him, then drafting a project in the 3rd/4th...maybe 2nd depending on who falls. Not thrilled...but not opposed.

Bears said to be interested in Mike Glennon
Shotgun theory... It's hard to argue against leaving no stone unturned until we find our guy...

What to do if you're Pace & Fox
I'm going vision... It's really more what I want, and that is lay out the long term goal. Plus, I'm not all that certain they can win now regardless... If you tell me you're building and we see signs, I'm happy. If you tell me we are all in right now and don't come close to that...then it's a fail.

Alshon not expected back.
Did not know that it's a net of gain vs loss...just thought loss. Thanks.

Alshon not expected back.
Maybe they know they are getting Jimmy G and nab the WR from Clemson...Williams at #3... And sign a Stills... Who knows...

I imagine we'd get a compensatory pick for him at minimum?

Bears Working to Trade Cutler
That's always fun...but usually short lived!

Bears Working to Trade Cutler
As Bill Murray said in "Meatballs"..."It just doesn't matter!" Sometimes you have a girlfriend who has all the right potential...but you just can't stand going on vacation with her. It's time to move on. The next girl may not be better. But at least she's different...and has the potential to be "the one". I think the Bears (and many fans) are simply done with this particular "girlfriend". And at worst, the next girl is the stepping stone to the next one... But this one has worn our her welcome.

That makes sense...

Bears Working to Trade Cutler
If he's cut and signs elsewhere...would we at all be eligible for anything compensatory?

What's your nightmare draft?
Positivity and Bears fandom are not a good marriage!

What's your nightmare draft?
My nightmare draft ends a year or so after the draft...when we know for sure it was a fail!

Out of far left field...
After watching the Pats win yet again, it made me think there there might be a silver lining to our last 10 years of sucking... Granted, we had lightning in a bottle for 2006. But our lack of QB really doomed us...along w/ losing Mike Brown and Tommie Harris for the most important game. But in a broad brush stroke, from 2007-2016...the Pats really have dominated. And they probably will continue to until Brady/Billichick retire in 3-5 years. Sure, some other teams have won in the meantime. But the landscape has been really owned by the Pats to the like we'll probably never see again. We never want to suck...but given that we did and do, it might have not been a bad time to do so... Look at some great players like Brees, Rodgers, etc...they've only won 1. It's like the NBA greats that couldn't win while Jordan was playing. Why hope to be stocked to "win" when you're doomed for ultimate failure? So, after a sip of whisky...maybe sucking this past decade doesn't suck all that bad. Our window I think opens in about 2 years. Right when the Pat's one would more than likely be coming to close. Here's hoping...

agreed And my dad, would tell me how the game in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid was a lot different from the 50's-60's... It's ever changing..- Super Bowl Open Thread
Thanks for providing that info!- Super Bowl Open Thread
I wasn't exactly saying that. But they've had top 5 NFL D's during their numerous SB runs...- Super Bowl Open Thread
I think if Dan had the RB's and WR's Ryan had...that game would have not even been close... He never had a running game.- Super Bowl Open Thread
In that era yes. Others say Wilt or Bill Russell in older generations. If I'm picking one player in history to take my shot, it's MJ... But, I'm Chicago biassed! He also didn't get punished the way QB's in Montana's day did. Also, the WR's run free...whereas there was far more contact, etc back in the day. I am not downplaying Brady's greatness in the modern era. I simply think it's not logical to say one one player from one era is the greatest of all time. By the way, he's had amazing defenses. He's had some damn good receivers. Edelman is no slouch. He's also had incredible and consistent coaching. And incredible and consistent luck...from the tuck rule to the Edelman grab last night. All that said, again...great. Just not fair to say of all time.- Super Bowl Open Thread
The one that surprised me was the one in OT in the end zone. It was indeed PI, but historically, that's not called in that tight of a game. Especially the SB. The best example of that recently is Kaepernick not getting the PI call against the Ravens on the last play of that SB. It's a lack of consistency. So either SF got screwed or ATL did. That said, NE was going in for the TD regardless.- Super Bowl Open Thread
One thing not really mentioned is luck. I've never seen one franchise have so much talent, and so much luck at once. It's usually one or the other. - Super Bowl Open Thread
