Bears Rumors
Davenport must not want to go at 8 if he cannot keep his mouth closed.

LB Stats Poll
I think you take the player that you think will have the best career, not just the best year one. If the Bears need a ILB for a year while player A or B develops, then go sign Bowman or another vet that can play if you need to.

Ranking the Bears' Draft Needs 13 to 1
Seen one thought on Nelson that is if he falls to 5, 6, or 7 that Pace might pull the trigger and trade up. It would cost a future 2nd or 3rd. Not sure I would like that, but it could elevate Leno on the left solidifying the line

Trade down clown dream
I feel the same, the final two picks were not fun but those first 5 would be household names on Sundays. Looks like Greg Gabriel sees the first round play out with a trade also. Fun draft to follow, seems reasonable. http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/article_356f3c12-698d-5d8e-b927-24841bbc021d.html

Our first pick needs to be a all pro type
It is killing me seeing all these beat writers marking Nelson as the Bears pick. I do not see how he slips to 8. Sure it's a no brainer for me but it would be Aaron Donald all over again. If we dont trade down, I also think Edmund's is the pick. As you state, Pace was rewarded an extra clock with Nagy coming in with a raw QB. Edmund's fits Paces athletic freak model.

Guessing With Pace
My statement was I dont think anyone will guess our first two picks right this year. I have no idea what way they go. Last year I felt a QB, a few thought S. My guess this year is OLB, but I dont see one at 8 unless we move up for Chubb or down.

Great assessment, I agree Smith would be great in the Lovie era. Not a great 3-4 choice though, he could find success because he is a great lb but would be happier in a D made for him. Edmund's may take tutoring, but they can find ways to use him as he learns. He is a rare specimen that would be fun to see Fangio work with. Inside and outside, he would move along the line and always be in the QBs face. Linemen would be worried when he steps into there gap.

Drafting to the offensive depth chart
Also have to figure in scheme fit. I believe HH is going to run a zone blocking scheme which needs mobility also.

Guessing With Pace
I would prefer Harrion Phillips from Stanford round 2 over Vea if they want D Line that bad.

Trade down clown dream
Today's mock trading down, with ARZ. 1-8 for 1-15 & 2-15. Hopefully my final. 1-15 Mike McGlinchey OT -Might not be a dire need, but McGlinchey might be the best OT prospect that came out the past 2 seasons. He upgrades the line and locks LT up long term. 2-7 Lorenzo Carter OLB-The Bears create the Dawg pound pass attack with two similar OLBs to protect the edge, harass QBs, and cover when needed. 2-15 Harrison Phillip's DE/NT-His explosion factor is off the charts. Phillip's replaces Unrein and can spell Goldman inside too. He mixes in right away and completes a DLine that will be hectic to go up against. 4-5 Equin St Brown WR-Large WR with great route running ability. He will pair up well with Robinson outside. 4-15 Quenton Meeks CB- Big physical CB that uses his smarts to make up for lack of speed. Give him a year to learn and he can be a staple on the D. 5-8 Azeem Victor ILB- Spitfire LB similar to Trevathan who can cover well and sure tackle. He is a risk, which seems to be a Washington issue. 6-7 Taylor Hearn OG -Clemson OG that has been in some tough trenches. Nothing glorious, but can become a starter. 7-6 Ryan Nall RB - Bit of a tweener FB/RB/WR, he will be a nice compliment to Lightning and Thunder I like this draft and see players that were not a dire need but will be studs once adjusted. Instead of McGlinchey, I could have taken Conner William's or Billy Price to play G. I couldn't pass a LT and dont think the Bears should either. They will have to go in with Kush/Morgan at G but I think they are prepared to. I took a solid G in Hearn but was leaning Keke Coutee WR to add more explosion to the WR Corp. Anyway, you cannot address it all every year. Have to leave some targets for 2019 drafts....which fires off 1 week for today??

Guessing With Pace
I agree, I see trading down all over. If it plays out, we trade with Buf at 12 and gain a 3rd. Worst case Arz at 15 which gives them a 2nd RD. I have a weird feeling on Harold Landry being a Bear. I'd prefer McGlinchey and he'd be my second target guess.

Drafting to the offensive depth chart
He has that and I think more. Maybe not the brain Brian had, but many think he could be a chess piece a move to either giving Fangio a great tool to disguise blitzes and coverages.

Guessing With Pace
This year is gonna be the trickiest yet trying to guess what they do. I would almost bet no one guesses the first 2 picks correct. Next Thursday will be interesting.

Drafting to the offensive depth chart
I could see rd 1 Edmund's, Rd 2 Carter, and a late rd prospect. Could look at that as 3, by I think Fangio would move him all over

Drafting to the offensive depth chart
Right now they have Floyd, Acho, and Lynch. If they had two studs then they could go for one, but they don't. They have Floyd who hasn't lasted a season. Lynch who is in a one year prove it deal, and Acho who is decent depth and ST. Oh, and Isaiah Irving... Let's say they draft Carter RD2 and another RD 6 like Dorance Armstrong. Neither of these guys will be ready until game 4 or 6, maybe get some snaps but not be main rotational player or starter. This gives the 2 chances for one to make it and depth for the following season if Lynch doesn't deserve a second contract. Another option is to bring Lamar Houston back or draft Edmund's knowing he can play ILB and OLB. Either way, they need one who can contribute soon and extra depth would help would help down the road.

Drafting to the offensive depth chart
I wish I can find a scouting report on the oline I read earlier. It broke down the top 10 prospects at each position and said which blocking scheme they would fit best at. As for the draft, I can see them drafting one or two OT's. Only McGlinchey from what I read is deemed a day one starter where the rest will take development and strength to get to that point. Since Leno recently signed, I think they target a swing OT to backup and take over for Massie next season around rd3 or 4 and then another later. If there is a G/C they like, they may take a 3rd lineman but I think they are fine going in with the guys they have if they remain healthy (which never happens). Still see them drafting OLB, ILB, WR, DB, OL. Doubling up on OLB and OL.

Edge rusher Arden Key visits
Ouch, thanks for digging into. At least they brought him in to get a look at. That shoulder may drop him down to 3rd pr 4th rd. As for the marijuana, I wish they wouldn't use but these days you smell it everywhere and people are not as scared to use or have it. It is still against the NFL/College rules, so it shows the level of respect that was given. With seeing this, I definitely scratch him from my round 2 as I was already skeptical.

Trade down clown dream
I like that mock. Your are right, it may be Buffalo instead and I don't think we get the 2nd and 3rd both, just the 3rd but it was what was given. So I would still be happy with that draft minus Crosby to keep it realistic. One thought, I haven't looked deep into it, but if Grasu wasn't big enough why would Price be? They are about the same size at draft time. Maybe Ragnow would be better, but we do run a zone blocking scheme so mobility is also important.

Rashaad Coward being moved to OG
It doesn't mean they won't draft G/C but I do feel they are comfortable moving forward with Kush while Morgan competes for that spot. It is unlikely Nelson is there, so they could take one Round 2. The problem I see is OLB won't be taken Round 1 unless they move down, since Chubb is likely top 5. That leaves a bigger need to find OLB than a G/C Round 2. The scenario that works the best is if Buffalo trades up for 8 and we gain a 3rd. They could land Davenport/LandryOLB or McGlinchey OT RD1 and then Hernandez/Ragnow G or Carter/Key OLB RD2.

Howard happy not to be on block...per pft
The funny part about it all is he acted like he never removed the photos and they are now back on his page. Glad they asked him about it.

Edge rusher Arden Key visits
It is hard to know what led him to leave the team, I am sure some NFL teams have an idea by now after researching him. His play did drop off too. He dealt with injury, weight loss, and played more in coverage which didn't help. If he can get back to the 2016 version, then he was a top 10 prospect, but you don't want a player that has any issues that takes him away from producing. If there are concerns about him being troubled, I am sure the Bears will stay away. They tend to go for high character football guys

Edge rusher Arden Key visits
Article from the Windy City Gridiron states that the Bears have brought LSU edge rusher Arden Key in for a visit. I think if we do not draft edge Round 1, we will come looking for one in Round 2. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2018/4/16/17245302/chicago-bears-arden-key-visits-draft-lsu-pass-rusher-pro-day-injuries-nfl-2018

Bears Sign Bennie Fowler, WR
They are totally revamping their team it seems. Didn't seem like they admired him as much as we are now, but the highlight film is just that. Hopefully he takes the next step here and can give the Bears reason to part with Bellamy.

Bears Sign Bennie Fowler, WR
Watching the clip, he caught most of those across the middle in traffic. He lined up in the slot and outside from what I seen. He looks like a high upside WR with speed, wonder why Denver didn't keep him.
