Lately, it looks like Alshon has checked out. He is not on the same page tonight

If they are reviewing their process up to this point, I am ok with that. Using all the resources available is not always bad. If they are having second thoughts, then they are jeopardizing the start of a process that takes more than 18 months to fulfil. Fox had a tradition on turning teams around by year two, but I don't think he has had this many injuries to work with either. This firm they have hired will probably tell them what most of us see and discuss which is they are on a decent path if they can stay healthy. I am not sure I can take another gm/coach dump. I can see firing the OC after the offseason, especially if they can take a QB early to build around.

Two QB's that may be rated high are playing today

Good match up! I wouldn't mind doubling up on QB like Wash did. Take a flier on a top prospect and grab someone like Luke Falk if he is around round 4. -
The Bears would be better off tagging him again to be honest. Give them another year to prepare for life after him if they can only get a 2nd. Starting to see Philly and Tampa as teams maybe interested. AJ would love to go down to Tampa, warm weather.
-
I like a lot of Gregs information. He pointed out Deandre Hall to me and I was happy the Bears drafted him. Hopefully he gets healthy and can get back on the field. As for Trubisky, I have been hearing a lot of good things on him too. Haven't done too much research, but seems like a legit prospect. I think we will be talking about him often as the season gets dimmer.
-
The more options, the better. Wentz and Goff passed early draftnik favorites Connor Cook and Christian Hackenberg, will have to see this one out. Still think Kizer has the right tools, but Ws mean a lot to me too.
-
Philly only has one first round pick from the Sam Bradford trade. They traded their pick to move up for Wentz last season. They would still trade that for Alshon I would assume. I would be torn. The Bears are depleted of talent and do not look like world beaters making first round picks so far (too early to tell yet). So would the pick be as good or better than AJ? With Phillys pick looking like it will be a very late pick, I would also like more cmpensation as said earlier. A 1st and 3rd may sway Pace.
-
Very well could but then he is a free agent and any team wanting his services and I imagine there might be one or two, will have to negotiate a new contract with him. After this season, there is a two year window were his contract is very appealing. 16 and 17 million with little or no dead cap if cut. Take Osweiler and his contract over those same two years is 19 and 21 million. Dead cap space is 34 million! Not that I would want Osweiler to be our QB, but it could net a high pick for freeing them of his contract. Also they have a good if not great D when healthy and explosive offense if they had a decent QB.

Cleveland I can see a 3rd, they are going to draft a QB also, so they wont be giving away any of their two first rds. Houston though is 4-2, leading the AFC South trying to make a push in the playoffs. They may see Cutler as a Bradford type that can get there with Hopkins,Fuller and Miller at RB. They can dump Osweilers contract on the Bears which is costly until after 2017 so a 1st could be possible. 1-2 Deshone Kizer QB 1-24 Desmond King CB-Dereck Barnett OLB considered but think CB is a bigger need. 2-34 Tyrell Crosby RT (best in the draft) 3-66 Jordan Leggett TE 4-100 Jarron Jones DT 4-108 Kevin King CB- 5-135 Julien Davenport LT -small school LT prospect Getting healthy and staying there is our biggest factor.

It was hard to see where I was since almost every tv had the Cubs game on. Glad he is coming around and hopefully he can build off of that.
-
The nfl knows the Bears need a high draft pick QB to turn their franchise around, so they are helping to make sure they don't screw it up.
-
If that was the case, why not put him on IR? Unless they are looking to make a trade this year yet. Maybe Houston would trade Oswieler and a pick? They do not like what they have in that deal and at least Cutlers contract can be managed easily now. For any team to take Oswielers contract, what would be good compensation? A first round works for me, but I am biased.

Disgusted but what more can you expect when this team is missing their top draft picks and high FA signings most of the year and almost every year. Nothing to build on when you are playing no names while your money sits in the sickbay. The only hope I have now is they end up with the #1 pick and get a QB. Kizer is about it, Matt Miller just said he is Wentz-ish. When they draft a QB, build the team around him asap with the best OC, oline, and WR/TEs. 1-Kizer QB 2-Butt/Howard TE 3-Crosby/McDermott RT 4-CB 4-WR OC-McCoy if fired

They are also dealing with many injuries. Goldman is a force in the middle, his return along with McPhee should help the front 7. Leonard Floyd also needs to see the field, have to believe he will eventually be a difference maker. He still needs to add bulk, but he needs game experience.
-
You are talking about the Bears, Fox will not be let go with 2 years left on his contract. Maybe after next year, but still doubtful.
-
Interesting and Hoyer is at the top completing 71%. I also just checked pff on the oline, the Bears were rated 13th. I think that was overall in pass/rush. Massie though was 30th of all RTs. We can probably get by next year with that core but spend a top 3-4 pick ona RT competition.
-
We would be log jammed at OLB, but if he lives up to the hype then it would be a great pick. I keep running mock draft models with 4 RD1 models using fanspeaks CBS board with selecting A.) Kizer B.) Watson C.)Garrett and D.) Peppers. Round two has so far left choices of Kaaya, Kelly, and Rudolph for QB. I would think by draft day Kaaya and maybe Kelly will be up in RD1, but we may be able to pull off a D pick round 1 and QB round 2. If Pace feels one of those QBs is too good to pass, then you have to go RD1 over any other position though.
-
The offense looks much better when you can run the ball. Does the oline get credit? Loggains? Hoyer behind center? Or is it Howard is just better? I would like to see Cutler once with the same game plan as Hoyer to gauge the difference. I know I will catch some flack on that, but it would be a sure sign. I do enjoy Hoyer because he progresses much quicker imo, but would love to put a final nail in the Cutler era if the offense takes a step backwards.
-
Howard already looking like a stud, just need to clean up the stupid penalties.
-
Whether Hub is right our wrong, he always gives prognostic thoughts it seems so he can tell you he called that. Not sure the Fox is running the house call is completely accurate, but Pace and Fox do work closely together and having an experienced coach to lean on is not bad for a young GM. They are riding rough waters together and we knew this going in. I know I don't expect any huge turnarounds until they draft the QB of the future and then there will be growing pains. Give another draft or two and hopefully we have that QB with a great oline and defense to contend. The killer has been injuries and lack of depth.

More like the Bears are cursed. White's injury came from the defensive player falling on it. It could have been related to the leg strength not being where it needed to be or possibly since the tibia has a rod in it and wouldn't flex in parallel with the fibula and the later gave.. Either way, seeing him as the player envisioned will never come to fruitation and it is fair to say so far he is a bust because we will never know.
-
Broken fibula and placed on IR.
-
That is needed since it seems our round 1 picks seem to be mediocre if that. Still have hope on White/Floyd but havent had that breakout game yet.
-
Still read a lot of hype on him, but take your word. My game this weekend was Mich vs Wis, was hoping to check him off as a top 5 pick but didnt feel it. Jourdan Lewis looked like a top CB prospect. Will try catch that UM game.

Hats off to Eddie Royal! He is becoming a big part of this team this year. After last season I was ready to move on, but the way he has been performing, they are lucky to have him locked up. Royal and Z Miller are our TD mahines, Pace has a couple of gems here.
