I feel the same way about Jake Butt TE. If he is there RD4, stash him on IR also. 2017 is not expected to be promising, more like a feeler to see if there is improvement.

Sidney Jones CB Wash, was considered a first round CB, tore his Achilles at his pro day. This cost him a lot of money and the 2017 season. I would think he makes it to Round 3 and possibly RD4. Would love to stash him while they see what Prince and Fuller have on one year deals. He would be like a 2018 1st RD pick. What defines BPA? Being best to contibute right away or best for the team long term? If going by right away, then you will never have a QB as BPA. I think both Trubisky or Watson can be long term starters in this league and that will weigh in.

I would love any of those prospects and feel QB may very well be up the sleeve also. Here is what Pace said after hired as GM. He has not drafted one yet which is surprising from what he said, but I think this year he takes one RD 1-2.

I agree, they need more than Glennon. No one knows if he will flop, get hurt, or be the fa signing of the decade. To count on him, Shaw, and another developmental guy equivalent to Shaw makes no sense...well unless you're a Bears fan.. that is part of Bear culture. Also, signing Glennon to starter money means nothing since they had no one under contract before that and have no idea who will even be available when they draft. If they were solely counting on a QB in the draft to be their day 1 starter, they would have to trade up to #1. All we can read into is we can get a stud defensive player who should produce quickly or a future signal caller who may take some time to adjust.

45 days until draft day and it is anybodys guess what the Bears do. I will say this is the first year I am completely lost on trying to guess. FA didnt go as I expected and the draft will probably follow suit.

I agree with no WR in rds 1 or 2, but if Schuster or Z Jones is there rd3 then you have to consider it. Pace is supposedly a BPA GM.

I forgot about Kush, thank you for reminding me. He is a near starter in my books and future Sitton replacement. I like Long at guard for now. He will be playing with a torn shoulder and you need more reach outside.

One man missing in these comparisons is Derek Barnett. He should be in the mix as well. 56 tackles, 40 solo, 13.5 sacks.. 1 INT, 5 PD. Career: 198 tackles, 131 solo, 32 sacks, 52 TFL His numbers are just as good. If they are targeting a DE/OLB, might try damb hard to trade down. You have choices of Garrett, Allen, Thomas, and Barnett. Get the ammo to trade back up for a QB.

If Grasu is the better C, then go for it. Would Whitehair be better than Leno outside? Not right away, but he is definitely a guy who would be disciplined and works at being great. Speaking of Long, he may not be the same since his shoulder is torn and cannot do surgery bc of time and complications. Finding another G should be a priority to fill in.

I would be good with taking a risk on Jake Butt if he can be drafted round 4. Redshirt him a year if need be.

True, but would you pass on him now in round 1 if given the chance? I think that is Watson's ceiling, they can pass and take a solid #2 in Webb or Peterman rounds 2-3 and shoot for 2018 for a legit prospect.

This is an odd signing by GB who usually poaches players that are cut instead of FA's. I think their front office is under pressure and they are abandoning their philosophy that has given them 17 compensation picks since Ted Thompson took over 12 years ago. Also looking at GB draft history, they trade down a lot. The Bears in the same time frame of 2005 to 2016 has had 6 compensatory picks; 3 in 2008 and 3 in 2009. This is a reflection of drafting good players.

I am also on board with this. Trade down if it makes you feel better, but do not pass up on a QB because player A is slotted around #15 and we hold card #3. I don't care if they draft QB in round one the next 3 years or more as long as they make an attempt to get it right for once in my life and have a quality backup that was drafted and groomed by the Bears also. I still feel Watson would be that long term answer and he can have a career similiar to Russell Wilson, I would use 3 on him.

That draft would be awesome. I think we draft a TE high since we will need all the help in receiving dept as possible.

I wasn't too impressed with the oline fa class. Massie played much better later on, so not sure Beachum would be a big upgrade. I think he whiffed on the DB's to be critical of him. The WR's were meh, Alshon was it and it seemed to want out regardless. Wonder how far off we are from reaching the minimum cap? Looks like we will be at the bottom and carrying over some cap.

All the QB needy teams are out of the Glennon sweepatakes except for the Bears. If this is indeed the case, his price should drop considerably. If the Bears sign him for his asking price, then we are in big trouble under this regime. If the Bears sign him to an incentive laden contract, say 8 million with bonuses, then maybe it a worth considering. I still would prefer Hoyer, but wanted to point out Buf, SF, NYJ have stated no interest.

I want Hoyer back to bridge the gap for a 1st round draft pick. If Kizer or Mahommes can be had in RD2, I can go with that also. I do not want a long term project QB with were we are at with the QB situation now. Prospects like Webb/Peterman work if you have 2 years to see if they develop, we do not have that luxury imo.

A trade down makes the most sense if the Bears are going QB. I think we all want a stud S, and I think we can get a good one RD2 like Baker or Melifonwu. I don't think they can get a QB with stud potential in RD2, so it is either reach or trade down. In FA, the can sign Gilmore, Campbell, and an OT to fill needs and allow a draft to go like: 1 Watson QB trade down for 2nd 2 Baker FS 2 G Bolles OT 3 A Jackson CB 4 J Butt TE 4. Jarron Jones DE 5. R Switzer WR 7. RB or K

It will be Hoyer over Glennon. First because of the price, Glennon is asking too much to risk on. Second Hoyer knows this offense and the offense rallys behind him, a rookie can learn more behind Hoyer. Third, Pace raves about Hoyer when he speaks of him

With the leak that the Bears want Brian Hoyer back, I do not see Glennon in the mix unless Hoyer wants to go elsewhere. I still see them going Hoyer, rookie, Shaw, but that is my guess.

If we want to connect more dots, Mitchell Trubiskys head coach Larry Fedora was also an offensive assistant at Florida when Rex Grossman played.

I just looked at some combine results and I think Zay Jones WR answered any concerns about his speed. That was a concern I heard from a former NFL scout on him saying his playing speed was too slow. He could very well go Round 2 now and may be too rich for us now. I think we both have like Switzer for a couple years now. He seems like the player GB or NE would swoop up right away.
