I am a ND fan and would love to see Smith in Chicago, but that injury is a high risk. He may never be the same. I am reading good things on Cody Whitehair OG and would not flinch if they took him in the 2nd. I would be OK giving Leno another year.
  2. Doesn't AJ usually line up on the left? It also makes sense because he is right handed and throwing right takes extra steps to turn the body.

If Stanley and Jack are gone, I hope there is a QB sitting at pick #11. Perfect situation to trade down. With NO, PHI, STL, BUF, NYJ, and HOU below us, we should get a bite. #12, 13, 15, 19, 20, & 22 are their slots. Teams may bid better than usual since they are in a close range. I doubt NO and BUF would be in the bids, but could take QB if one fell. The move up should net us a 2nd and 3rd or 4th, more so if Hou trades.
  4. The transition tag only gives you the right to match a contract offer and retain the player. It sort of went away because teams are able to structure "poison pill" deals like we did with John Tait. It is available, but if the Bears really want to keep AJ, start working on a long term deal. If that falls through, the use the Franchise tag.
  5. I agree, he hasn't done much all season and he was not in Clemsons game plan to account for.. The TE for Clemson, Legget had a good game too. I would rather spend the picks on defense and oline this year and maybe take TE 5th or after.
  6. How about Howard now? He exposed Clemsons coverage, showed speed and good hands. It was one game, but he earned some extra money tonight.
  7. I am good with it. Fox has more control over the offense with his conservative approach and Loggains will follow the same way. If Fox and Pace are behind it, I have faith.
  8. With Wentz climbing boards, and he may end up at the top, the better it gets for the Bears. If 3 QBs get selected before we pick, that I leaves 8 players dropping. If one is available at 11, maybe STL will want to trade up to build some LA hype. I would gladly trade down to 15 and take a 2nd and possibly a 2017 2nd RD pick. 1-Reggie Ragland LB 2-Cody Whitehair OG or Christian Hackenberg QB 2-Shaun Oakman DT 3-Best SS Karl Joeseph, Jeremy Cash etc 4-Lloyd Carrington CB
  9. Ha! I was there too and left shortly after half time. Went to the bath room before half and thought I was going to get pounced on with Bengal fans jumping in my face saying who dat. I will say the town is nice and the stadium is great, players and fans....not so. Bears fans had a huge showing there too.
  10. I was on the BM bandwagon. Follow him on twitter and instagram etc. I also see the teams side of it. He needs attention, likes the microphone, and says what he wants. The Bears ownership did not want that and I believe most of the players did not like him speaking on their behalf. My biggest regret is not getting enough value on dumping him, but that is what value turns into when a guy has a reputation. Amos will start next year and more than likely through his rookie deal. The coaches got a player they wanted by drafting him.
  11. Marshall won over one player. There are 50 others that despised him. If the trade was straight up for Amos for Marshall, then it is has value because he led this team in tackles and made the all rookie team. Amos has a whole career, Marshall is talking retirement already. The Bears no longer wanted to deal with him. Hard to blame them when 3/4 of the team did not like him.
  12. Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, Peppers, Harris, Brown, Hester...many names that made those teams good. Lovie was a players coach and those players will speak hugely of him. Once those players wilted, Lovie did too. He struggled to find and develop new talent.
  13. Floyd - not a need, pass Nkimdiche- Meh, has the talent and athletic ability, but lacks dedication to the game. Play dropped and has suspectable character concerns. It would take major convincing to Pace, Fox, and Fangio. Smith- was sold until the injury. Bears do not have the luxury to gamble on his health. Ragland- would be happy. Has ability to solidify the middle and put fear in RBs. Would prefer picking him 15ish, not too far from 11. Jack- Yes. Top talent, has DB speed in LB body. He could be special if Fangio implements ILB blitz more. Stanley- Would improve the OLT, but not fill a need at RG/RT. Put at RT and move Long inside, but takes buzz off of pick. Would love pick either way. Looking more and more like ILB imo. Buckner would not surprise me either, but DT is deep in draft this year.
  14. A lot of mixed reports coming out... The latest is no coach is set up for a second interview yet in Philly. They did like what they saw in Gase and still could offer him the job, but nothing has been decided yet.
  15. Hard to believe he was let go so soon. They have to have their mind set on a certain coach to replace him with, you would think. An offensive mind for Winston? Or a defensive mind to get a way from the cover who? Please don't let me see a tweet that TB has requested to interview Fangio.
  16. It makes sense now why Allen started, because neither of these two were strong enough yet to take significant snaps. Once they got close, Allen became expendable. I think it would be be in their best interest to pencil them in for 2016. They became productive and it is one less hole to fill. They also have the opportunity to find a late round gem that can learn a year or two without added pressure of playing right away.
  17. Charles cannot stay healthy, otherwise he may be better. Matt Forte 120games 120 games started 8602 RushYds 4116 RecYds 12718 total J Charles 100 games 69 games started 7270 RushYds 2443 RecYds 9663 total. Charles has 62 TD's Forte has 64 TD's
  18. If they want a player with the higher floor, Ragland. Player with a higher ceiling, Jack. With Jack, I would stress adding a big powerhouse at the DE. Having another D lineman that will draw doubles would help free him up to a bigger playmaker.
  19. I agree they both played well once they got there legs back. I think OLB is in good shape going into next season, but using a late round pick on speed project would be wise.
  20. Maybe it was the videos I watched. What I seen from Jack was alot of what I see in Shea McClellin. In the plays, but arm tackles. Raglands videos, he is body tackling and in the right place. Like I said, it could be because Jack played more OLB and the highlights were catching the back on the edge. Ragland played inside and was stepping into the inside gaps hitting the back head on. Ragland looks more the part to me. Not saying I do not like Jack, I see Ragland more of an NFL ILB.
  21. I finally took a little time to watch youtube highlights on Myles Jack and Reggie Ragland. I am sold on Ragland. The difference that convinced me is Ragland was meeting the ball carrier head on more times and Jack was chasing them from behind. Part of that had to do with Jack playing OLB, but the difference in quality is noticed. Myles Jack is a raw talent with un-teachable athletic skills, so he has things going for him also. If the Bears want to add a LB with incredible speed and coverage ability, Jack has that, but lacks instincts. Ragland has the instincts, knows angles that make up for the speed difference, and can still drop into coverage.
  22. That is true. Gurleys happened in mid Nov and he missed two games. I would think Smith will miss 4-5, so still not bad. Gurley was also a very raw talent. Smith is worthy, but I don't think he would be considered a once in every 10 or so year player. That is where I see Smith dropping down to, 25ish and as you said a team that can wait 5 games. He will probably end up in GB, NE, or Den. Wright is ok in pass coverage, his speed is his limitation. He is an exceptional pass rusher though. It would depend on what they do round 1, so I would not be objected to taking him rd 2 if he is there. Fangio adapts his D to his personal, so I would think he can adapt with Wright. I do like my option 2 better. Jack who would be a flying firecracker or Ragland who would be a brickhouse and then take a 5T round 2.
  23. I think the key to all of this is having the right upper management, great coaches, and stability. Having a QB is up there too. Once the above is all in place, the right players will fall in place. Picking higher has its benefits, the stats do not lie. If the above mentioned is not in place, you will see busts. The Bears I believe are on the right path. Having another high pick should help close the gap quicker. Once they have pieces in place, the draft becomes easier even if picking in the bottom.
  24. Jaylon Smith's injury definately hurt our spot as it dropped him out of the top 25 if not the first RD. I would not be opposed to drafting a 5T round 1 and taking either Smith/Wright RD2 1-Buckner DL 2-Smith/Wright LB 3-Sebastian Teviolta OG 4-Miles Killebrew SS Or 1-M Jack/R Ragland LB 2-Jarron Reed/Shawn Oakman DL
