  1. Good lay out. We will be bringing in 6-9 draft picks also, so some decisions will need to be made. I would like to see drafted, two offensive linemen and one defensive lineman. One ILB, S, and CB. Kick returner, I am good with Thompson. Even though I seen more aggression with Shea out, I think Vic likes the kid and he comes back.
  2. One thing these players see is how the team treats them as their careers come to an end. Chicago has not been the most kind imo. It may be at how the team communicates on that matter. Players are selfish too and it may take them a couple years to realize that they need to run the business at the best scale possible. Having to pay high for a diminished skill because they owe it does not bring success. Alshon will get dealt his cards soon, worst case is we have 2016 with him.
  3. I think we will be fine where we draft. Stanley, Conklin, or Taylor at T. Smith, Ragland, or Jack at ILB, Buckner or theres a few DTs we can take. CB and S may be an issue, they are upticking Kendall Fuller again with his 2014 play. Any way you look, we should be able to grab a player capable of starting in the league.
  4. Glad Goldman should be good. If it was a knee, different story. AJ supposedly is invested in a salary firm FANTEX. It will be intersting in to how this plays into his contract demands. It sounded like a poor decision coming from Hub on the Score. You can buy stocks on AJ which are around $11 fyi. It will be sad if he is only chasing $ because I think Chicago is a place you can add to your earnings by being great and winning.
  5. Does anybody know the severity of Goldman's injury? He is one of the best things going for this defense imo. Has any team in history had this many players on the IR? Seems like a fifth of our starters.
  6. Agree! I believe the Bears put down a good first foot at establishing what those teams have. This is not a one year turn around. It has to start from the top on down and Pace was handed the keys. He has done well year one. Sure he had a couple blunders, but his base building block was a good one. Follow next season up by adding the second level to that base and so on. Next years focus should be having a winning season, if playoffs happens, then that is a bonus. By year 3, they should be contenders. That is a lot to ask for patience, but if he plays the system the right way it can happen.
  7. Offense impressed: Cutler, Leno, Miller and Langford have gone above expectation Offense disappointment: Jeffery, Bennett, and Royal (mainly due to injury) - - - - - - - Defense impressed: Amos, Porter, Callahan, Goldman and Young Defense disappointment: McClellin, Jones, Rolle, and Ratliff.
  8. I believe that any player can be coached up with the right support. Right now, this Bear's team has a good standing in coach support. They need a few more playmakers. Where? That is the question since they have put inexperienced players in all position and they have made plays. I feel that this staff can make anyone play well, but they lack on the offensive line. More brut is needed. On defense, a CB DT, LB and S to add competition. How many games can we say this D of no names has fell apart? Coaching has done well, add one or two draftees and we are looking up
  9. I buy Jasons philosophy. But Tampa could not capitalize on a injured Bears roster. You can sit the questionable health guys as the Bears did, but how does a team throw a game? I'll admit, I hoped we would lose. The Bears scouting department probably did too. So know those scouts and Pace have to work harder.
  10. I don't want to them them lay down and not try, that is bad. The Bears won single handedly and it should not have been as close if the blocked punt didn't happen. I would rather take a better draft slot but without giving a game. They were short handed as it was playing many practice squad level players. With this draft, I still think they can land a Ragland or Nkimdiche or Decker/Conklin. It is the later rounds were I would like the higher picks.
  11. Have to say watching these young guys play is exciting. Hate seeing these injuries though with Goldman and now Grasu. Even Timu, Anderson, and Jones seem to be making plays.
  12. Right on. Need to protect the teams investment. You cannot let him walk with no compensation. The tag will give the team time to hash out long term or a trade partner.
  13. SCS pointed out a reasoning earlier how they intend to tag/keep Wilkerson. I take his words for granted as he has more hits than misses. If Wilkerson does hit the market, the Bears better be front runners. If they can sign him, draft a ILB like Ragland who is heating up draft boards or an OT like Stanley or Decker, round one would be solid.. Build strong in the trenches and every one behind gets more time to succeed.
  14. Well look at this. Jason did you write this up? http://thedraftwire.usatoday.com/2015/12/2...he-first-round/
  15. I think Ragland would make a great strong side ILB. Not sure if i would take him at pick ten or better though.
  16. Great blue north had him as the 33rd prospect Cbs sports has him at 64th. Maybe a 2nd to a 3rd value?
  17. I will give this a try. 1-Jaylon Smith ILB - the Bears get shredded up the middle by the RB or TE. Smith will take the reins of leading and help solidify the carousel. He will line up weak side, so Shea gets re-signed to man the strong 2-Shawn Oakman DT- Oakman has the size and strength to anchor one of the edges. Long arms to snag RBs or knock down passes. Oakman, Goldman, and Jenkins will start, with Sutton, Ferguson, Washington mixing in. 3-James Cowser OLB - Cowser reminds me of Clay Matthews with maybe a little more speed. 6-3 260 and 4.65 speed. He will start off as a situational pass rush and eventually replaces Young/Houston. He then will be the Jack
  18. Hopefully those days are over with Pace. As we can see from today, the oline still needs addressing.
  19. I can see the benefits of Smith, Jack, or Ragland. I know Smith and Ragland both play on teams with loaded defensive lines and Jack has Kenny Clark. Having talented fronts will free up the LB. I would be happy with any of these 3, but with Ragland if we traded down as you've stated. If they do plan on drafting LB, I do not think they sign one in FA if Shea is in the works still. My thought process is if they want speed and coverage they go Myles Jack. Big downhill run stuffer is Reggie Ragland. A do all with higher leadership traits, Jaylon Smith. I wont be surprised with going O/D line either with Stanley or Buckner. I left out Ramsey and Hargreaves, but one of those could be in the mix if we select above 8 also.
  20. Well said AZ! Nearly hit everything the way I feel. Ego/Sutton, hard to give up on guys that are on rookie deals and have started. If the Bears were not short handed, I think Sutton would get shut down too for his arm injury. Porter, if he continued to play like the GB night game, would have played himself into a 5 million contract. But his play seemed to have dropped. Acho's spot should be replaced by a rookie. Young/Houston are playing better and should stay unless we get a great trade offer.
  21. Mock: not authentic or real.... or to tease or laugh at? Is McShay teasing us? Nothing wrong with a little "mock" draft to generate some interest. As for DeForest Buckner, I wouldn't mind him if guys like Ronnie Stanley OT, Jaylon Smith LB, and Myles Jack LB, and Vernon Hargreaves CB are off the board. Too me, he is late first RD material like Eddie Goldman. He would be a force on the D line, but not a JJ Watt type.
  22. That statistic thing was about saying Carolina has this many picks on the oline compared to Dallas... etc. Using a stat like that barely skims on why a team is playing well or not. All three of our drafted offensive lineman that you refer too as being failures, two were due to significant injury after the draft (Columbo/Carimi). They both suffered right knee injuries, that would require years to regain strength. They were both selected with the 29th pick in the first round also. No player will want to be taken by the Bears again if they pick 29th. Chris Williams was an awful pick, they clearly didn't do there homework since he had a herniated disc also. I wanted Brandon Albert that year and was like Chris who? Finding proven players in FA usually costs a fortune or takes many trials and errors. The consistently good teams in the nfl only use FA on rare occasions. I am waiting for the Bears to get to that level. I am not saying Oline is the only way to go RD1, I want BPA that fills a need.
  23. The Cowboys oline is great, they are better suited to run than pass imo. The issue should be take the best player that suits a need, not take a certain position like a skill over trench bc of a statistic made up to prove a point. The O-line is a position of need on the Bears, just like LB, S, CB and DT will be. When the Bears turn comes up to pick, they will have a handful of players on their big board that may look like: 1.Robert Nkimdiche DT 2. Ronnie Stanley OT 3. Jaylon Smith LB 4. Myles Jack LB 5. DeForest Buckner DT 6. A'Shawn Robinson DT So now they have to decide which player will give the Bears the best shot at winning. Any of these names would not surprise or upset me unless they say, we have to grab the best skill player.... Laquan Treadwell is the top skill on the board lets load up on WR.
  24. I wouldn't be opposed in taking two OT's if the right guys were available. 1-Ronnie Stanley OT ND 2-Scooby Wright LB ARZ 3-Jarron Reed DT AL 4-Joe Haeg OT NDSU 5-Miles Killebrew SS Utah 6-CB 6-OLB 6-TE 7-WR
