  1. I like the approach of seeing the guys we have and how they perform with new leadership. This team has talent, it was just screwed under Trestman/Tucker and many injuries. Offensively, they didn't run the ball. Getting back to that will change alot. Maybe it is time to find a brute back and use Forte as a change of pace guy.
  2. It is hard to fill the holes we already have and if we trade our strengths, it only makes it worse. I can see maybe Sutton get shopped to a team in need of a 3T if we change our base D. Other than that, I think we go with our core as long as we can. The offense can be phenomenal if ran right. Run the ball and don't put Cutler in situations were every pass he is either sacked or throwing into double coverage.
  3. Right, he mentioned how one year they draft DT because of need and it never panned out. He said he learned a lesson. Fowler may be BPA, or an OT. 1-Scherff OT 2-Perryman ILB 3-A.Harris S 4-Coleman RB 6-Big DT 7-C
  4. Every single sack is due to Cutler holding on the ball too long technically, right?
  5. I forgot I seen that on Marshall earlier on here. Irving I really dont know much about, but Fox may try to lure as many Broncos.
  6. Sounds about right. They said Pace wants to really know more about him. He couldn't have learned enough of the first interview.
  7. I like Rahim Moore S and Nate Irving ILB or Brandon Marshall OLB
  8. I like the OTs, Ray depends on the defense. Thompson will wreck havoc and they say Fowler will be a solid DE? Give me Scherff OT #1, Perryman, Kendricks, or McKinney LBs Rd#2 one should fall, and Grasu/Dismukes C Rd3. Get your Safety in FA.
  9. So if Fox gets the gig, and it was down to Gase or Kyle Shannahan, who do you prefer. Which guy would be best to develop our next QB? Do these guys have the ability to adapt their offense to different personal, or do they not adapt well? Could Gase/Shannahan be a legit future HC and leave in a year? All thoughts to consider.
  10. The source was on SBNation, but deleted, so I think someone jumped the gun. If Kubiak is a get off the bus running coach like Fox was wanting to be late in the season, it makes me scratch my head. I think Kubiak would go back to his routes with Denver and Elway.
  11. Gary Kubiak will be the Broncos HC it looks like.
  12. I think someone will take a shot at him before the 4th. 4th would be boderline for me to take, it would depend on the HC/OC if they think he can play. He won't be on any practiced squads, so he will be on someones 53.
  13. Jones may have promoted himself these last 3 games, but I would pass. If some team drafts him, I applaud Jones for making the most out of 180 minutes. He is an athlete, but he is no Craig Krenzel. Not that a QB needs to be a molecular genetics major like Krezel, but Jones wasn't fond of academics. His infamous "tweet" about not being at Ohio State to play school brings his maturity into question. As a Bear fan I will pass, but maybe Cincinnati will take a shot. They have Dalton but can move on from him anytime. M Lewis has been good at getting the most out of guys too.
  14. Best case scenario is you have a future OG or OT. Dude is huge.
  15. I'd be ok with it, but depends on who his coordinators are. Otherwise, bring me a spark plug Bowles, Quinn, Austin,
  16. Read his draft profiles. No rookie will step up and be all pro year one, and Ratliff also played NT in Dallas, made probowl I believe. Why cant a Bear draft pick develop into something solid?
  17. All those bad contracts really didn't hurt m losing Peppers, Briggs, and Tillmans big deals frees up a lot of that.
  18. Those guys are great blockers too for WRs. We have a good shot at the best OT in the draft. I know we need D, but if your first pick as a GM can anchor your oline for 10 years, that would be a great start to being a successful GM. Round two, there should be great talent left for LB or S.
  19. I think Ferguson can be a good NT in a 3-4.
  20. Hopefully the hire is someone that can make Cutler better for 2 years, but will also be a great HC beyond that thought. Targeting a coach just for Jay cannot be a reason for choosing your HC. I think Pace has that in mind. I think Kubiak is being mentioned because his offense revolves around a running game. Pace mentioned about getting the Bears back to its roots of defense and running. Having a strong run game, like Seattle, Dallas, and even GB helps any QB. Who knows, maybe having this type of offense will have you rigorously watching if they become relevant again. Kubiaks style blocking was also mentioned years ago earlier to get the most out of Fortes style of running.
  21. Agree, I just don't think rebuild and NFL go hand in hand like you see in MLB. It's either you suck or don't. In the NFL, you have contracts that are tough to move and ramifications if you cut a player. The way out is numerous years of good drafting and good coaching. If Pace can put together the good coaching, we have some talent to work with. Talent that we might not have known with under Tuckers D were numerous times LB n DB were not on the same page. On O, we couldn't get success in the first 15 plays that are scripted and practiced, which tells me there was something majorly wrong. We can argue QB or playcalling, but I don't remember very many runs in the first quarter. Go out and get these coaches before we talk about we have to trade/cut this player or that, because it might take 3 years beore we see a return on those types of moves.
  22. My ideal draft would be: 1-Stanley/Scherf LOT (Peat? ) 2-Denzel Perryman/Eric Kendricks MLB 3-Hronis Grasu/Reece Dismukes C 4-best S
  23. I think we should trade BM to GB. Have them do a sign and trade with Cobb.
  24. George only needs to know one thing as chairman and that is what it cost and how much are we making. That is why Pace doesn't report to him. I am sure Georgey will have daily communication with Ryan, but as for reporting, George wants one report to look over the business as a whole. Teddy is good with the finances, but not football, so he will allow Pace the same powers as Angelo/Emery. The only time Teddy steps in is if ownership tells him too. For example we just seen with Trestman and Emery both fired. I also believe the McKaskeys over stepped Angelo in 2006 when the media was fussing over Lovie being way under paid and then so when they fired Jerry. Teddy is the middle man and sure it would be nice to have a football player with a great business mind to run the whole show, but those guys are rare or real old. The Bears structure is fine and to think this is the first time I can remember that the gm isn't forced to keep a coach.
