I agree. I think if you're going to ditch an offense that the team was finally starting to get the grips on they should just start over completely top to bottom and that means Phillips and Lovie also gone. We all know what our weaknesses were and we all mocked drafted players that would've improved this team. Jerry or whoever was making the call failed to build this team the right way. If we would've of started to put the pieces in place with the Grossman pick, this team could be drastically different. They failed to address the OL and WR then. Not saying Rex would've been great, but he had a aging oline protecting him and maybe #2 WRs in Muhammad/Berrian. Benson/Jones if they couldve got along would've been a great dual threat. Many wasted picks and not bringing them in the right way. That's why I think they should fire Phillips, bring in a great football mind to be President, hire an up n coming gm, and find an offensive minded coach.

I know this won't be a popular thought, but I would rather see the Bears bring back Martz as OC than to put Cutler and the offense through another learning curve. I see no reason to install another offense when Lovie only has 2 years left on contract. We have an good defense & special teams, but a defecient offense. No matter what/who's system we run, it will always be defecient unless we invest more into it (and many have said this even back in the Grossman/Benson days) Martz's offense can actually be the missing piece to improve Lovies D if we can just get the right personal in it. Lovies D is made to excel when playing with a lead, which he mentions 17pts alot. Martz had an explosive offense in STL that helped out Lovie, but he is short the tools to work with here. So re-sign Martz, put him and Cutler in the FA/Draft room and bring in whatever it takes to make this offense a top 5 group. Let them grab a OLT with the first pick, WR with the second, and a Center with a 3rd. Go into FA and grab a Marques Colston or Reggie Wayne and a Carl Nicks if necessary. Use some later round picks to fill in defensive needs and well take our 3rd place schedule next year all the way to the Superbowl.

I'm going to guess that he meant to put "yellow" flagged. It was mentioned numerous times lately on the Score w/ Hub about how many teams had him flagged but they all said it wouldn't have stopped them from drafting him.

Depends on who's available...I figure when we draft as of now two OL prospects could be available Jonathan Martin OT and David DeCastro G both from Stanford. The kid from Iowa is mocking around 10 or above lately so its hard to say if we have a chance with him. We can also be sitting with Michael Floyd WR , Quinton Coples DE, or Alfonzo Dennard CB in front of us. Replacing Webb is my #1 priority. I think if everyone comes back healthy we would be better with: LT Martin/Webb? LG Williams C Garza RG Louis/Nicks RT Carimi

Which combination would be best for the Bears if this was their menu on draft day? I think it's past the time frame to count against this years cap, but I could be wrong

Could this Hurd mess be an indictment in JA?

+1 JA is not going away this easy, you might as well try and like the guy. -

Only when they find JA's name on his "list" lol! In other words, no! JA and the organization did their background check. This guy lived a secret life and it blew everyones mind (teammates, media personal, fans). -
I think when we hit the winning streak, those deficiencies get overlooked. Our Oline group looks alright when theres a W, because it really doesn't matter how we win or what it looked like. But a lot of that success came from changing our offense to 3 or 5 step drops, shortening our routes, more max protections, using the RB in pass plays, and huge plays on S/T and D. How many years now has Forte been a leader in receptions. Our WR's need an upgrade also, but it's hard to evaluate when they are limited with 3 step drops and a CB playing man. Give them time and a playbook that includes 7 seven step drops and our group may look a little bit better. I understand not wanting a boring offensive lineman, but a good one can anchor a team for 10 years and make others around him better.

I would add an offensive lineman from RDs 1,2, or 3 every year. We are praying converted TE's and 7th RD picks can protect our QB. They have looked decent, but I would also add the Bears have schemed alot to work with the group they have. They find ways to help with chip blocks and shorter drops, roll outs etc. Our biggest needs right now are either to protect Cutler so we have a QB or to draft his replacement.

I would put Konz next to Garza, replacing Spencer. Garza don't have much left a year or two, even though he's pry our most consistant OL. Then Zietler can battle the Williams brothers (Edwin/Chris) for the other side. Then for the 2013 year, release Garza and you have an oline of: Webb or Rookie LT, C Williams LG, P Konz C, Zietler RG, G Carimi RT

Using Draft Teks latest 4 round mock..... I wouldn't mind this: RD1 Michael Floyd WR ND 6-3 238 RD2 Peter Konz C Wis 6-5-313 RD3 Kevin Zeitler G Wis 6-4 320 RD3 Cam Johnson DE Vir 6-3 270 RD4 Donnie Fletcher CB BC 6-1 198

I'd like to see the Bears look at FA for WR unless they think they can get the next AJ Green or Julio Jones. Here's my vision of a JA draft. I'd rather see a RD1 or RD2 Olineman but. Sign: Vincent Jackson or Marques Colston, or Dwayne Bowe RD1 - Defensive End RD2 - Cornerback RD3 - Guard/Center RD3 - Wide Receiver RD4 - Linebacker RD5 - Offensive Tackle RD6 - Tight End RD7 - Safety

I'd like to see a VJ or DB myself. Until we have a complete Oline with one or two all pros, we need that big go to guy. I was hoping Roy would fill that void, even though he's starting improve. Too little too late, he just doesn't care to be great. I'm glad we have Bennett locked up now for four years, he's our #1 for now.

I think the Bears may make a splash this offseason by bringing in a big time WR. The Roy Williams experiment isn't quite working out as they had hoped. Jay tried early to build that relationship, but the lack of heart and hands limits Roy. There's a nice list below of some great targets for the Bears if they don't resign with their team. It's not that the Bears don't have decent WR's, they have a nice group of #2's or #3's. They need that big target Jay can throw it up to when the pressure's coming. Then they can concentrate on spending draft picks on OL and D. list courtesy of footballfutures.com Vincent Jackson (SD) Dwayne Bowe (KC) Marques Colston (NO) ------------------------- DeSean Jackson (PHI) Reggie Wayne (IND). I thought Tim Jennings played a pretty good game. The announcers brought him up multiple times on playing great in coverage. Unfortunately he could have played lights if he would've got 2 out of the 3 that bounced off his hands.

Since it's never to early to make Christmas lists or Mock Drafts, I'll take my shot. RD1 Barrett Jones T/G Alabama 6-5 311 Has played both Guard and LT for 'Bama and Bears have said they like Tackles that can play Guard RD2 Dwight Jones WR North Carolina 6-4 215. Big WR that can go up for the ball, possesion target and redzone threat. If I recall, they were saying it was the sternum on the score a couple of weeks ago. I believe it was Hub saying that, but I cannot find it any where on the net.

The type of shape Martz wants his WR's in is a little more demanding shape than most teams. He wants his players to be able to run a deep fly route and be able to line back up on the next snap. Most WR's come out for a play after running a pattern like that. Don't get too overly concerned over stories in the papers. They need to create controversy to sell papers, so every few days it's gonna be something else.

There's always a spin! Here today, Greg Olsen states he did not ask the Bears for a trade last year. ProFootballTalk ProFootballTalk Greg Olsen: Bears' claim that I asked for a trade is not true http://t.co/sgWShxx

No issue with the power outage. It was a random thing and the field they went to is only a block or so away. Practicing some on the field turf at BBCHS was probably a good thing also. It's unfortunate that the fans that were there weren't allowed in to watch. I wouldn't be surprised if they practice over there again since it's close and they can get a feel for preparing for games on that type of surface.

Knox tweeted I don't even know where this crap comes from. This is just made up news beat.

Im the same way. So much good news in the papers building up the hype! Everyone is going to be a probowler according to Lovie, haha!

I am certain that will not be the starting unit come the first preseason game. Just mixing it up to get different looks on tape, that way when they look at side by side videos they can see differences in foot speed, pad level and so forth.

Except for fatty Marcus Harrison, lol!
