Looks like Carey won't see much PT this year
Forte took himself out? Or was it the OC? For most of Forte's years, the line was awful. They would use a jumbo package at the goal line and could never punch it in with the other back either. With Trestman, I haven't seen them remove Forte in those situations. For the most part, he would even come back in for goal line carries if he came out for a few plays. Now that we have a oline and a good offensive minded coach, I don't think we will see that happening much anymore.

Christian Jones
I think Jones will make it, and challenge Shea for the SLB. Would they cut Shea? I doubt it, but Jones is a LB were Shea will be learning the positition. Going be a tough call when deciding on the 53.

New rookie Jersey #s are out
I thought Vereen was given #45....

New rookie Jersey #s are out
I like how Fuller will wear #23. That is my favorite number....wonder why....and when it was given to Hester, I bought his jersey before he ever returned a kick off or punt.

I think Ka'Deem will get every third series. As long as he can pass block and hold onto the ball, he will get some action.

7th Rd pick, Leno signed
Ego Ferguson also signed...only Fuller and Sutton left

Our Lads ratings
Fuller was rated a top 5 player and Emery wasn't trading down or reaching for anything else. We drafted a S that is ready to get to work and we spent a future 5th round pick to get him. Drafting is not about one season, but 4 or more. We may have 5 guys that contribute right away which is great.

Bears sign....
I hope he has many years left before retirement. It seems he gets these done sooner every year, like its a competition.

Bears sign....
Cliff Stein is at it again. Brock Vereen and David Fales both sign 4 year contracts. More to come soon!

Who had the best draft?
Such a deep draft, too bad they can't expand the rounds to match the talent, could've went 8 or 9 rounds. I wish the NFL can create a JV developmental league again. It would be nice to retain and develop some of this talent that might go wasted.

2014 Defense
I already forsee next years draft/FA will be DB heavy. Only Safeties signed beyond 2015 are Mundy & Vereen. Only cornerbacks beyond Fuller/Jennings. Dline will need another DT, LB depth, and TE.

Draft Notes
No way they put Fales on the practice squad, he would get claimed in a heartbeat. They will be handcuffed to carry 3 QBs, which we will need to get used to. I can see Palmer eventually becoming a coach too.

Our Lads ratings
Yeah, tough one as he didn't have his scouts in place and a different coach that had a large part on picking the personal. Shea should look better playing off the line.

Our Lads ratings
Definately a deep draft. We have solid building blocks now. Down the road, this could be viewed as a great draft.

UDFAs
Just shows how much the mock draft sites and myself know about players. Many guys on this list that were on mocks as high as 3rd RD picks.

Also add Florida DBs Pourifoy and Roberson. Both had early high grades.

Ego Ferguson, DT
From cbs sports: draft grade 51. Chicago: Ego Ferguson, DT, LSU: The loss of Henry Melton to free agency was a big one for the Bears, but they grab another explosive, talented interior rusher here in Ferguson. He'll get lost against the run at times and needs to stay low off the snap, but he possesses unique quickness and strong hands, and should challenge for a key interior rusher role right away in Chicago. GRADE: B-

I am on the Lyerla bandwagon also, so no beef if they select him.

Was Dion Bailey S drafted yet? I think he'd be a 7th rd steal if I missed where he went.

Pat O'Donnell, P
He transferred after 3 years at Cincinnati, so he wasn't always in the balmy Miami area.

WTF moment
We filled the major holes. Every year a I fill a sheet out with players at their positions, year contract expires, and thoughts of depth becoming a starter. Over the past 3 years Emery had his hands full, and has filled dire needs. Soon enough, they will have the freedom to draft to upgrade.
