  1. I took some light flak for mentioning moving Daniel's to C. Kmet can play both TE positions, i just figured with Graham he would see more field time as the inline TE.
  2. I think he struggled along with the rest of the oline trying to block the run/pass offense. That is my opinion on why he would not want to play for this staff. As for retired or fired, he must have been told he was getting released and can save embarrassment by retiring which also leaves a bad taste on the staff.
  3. I thought this after drafting Johnson, first thing I researched is Fullers cap hit. I wouldn't have put CB on our highest needs before investigating. He needs to be in the NFLs top 5 to justify keeping him. This is another reason why I look at draft needs going 2 years down the road for needs.
  4. Hard to say he is not that person. We see only small pieces of their life on social media. The latest involved Abbagail Danger donning a Bears viser and pornhub swimsuit on a boat off the coast of Florida. He shared it probably because TMZ already had shots and wanted to blast him. I am sure he is working out, conditioning, and watching film. His position isn't like a FG kicker, basketball shooter, pitcher/hitter that can work on their craft. He had one downfall with missing that game and we may never find out why until his last dance documentary. If they get to play, he should put up big numbers again. Will the numbers be enough to make him All-Pro amongst Mack, Hicks, Quinn, Trevathan, Bojack, Fuller etc is yet to be seen.
  5. One player wipes out 2, basically making it 9 on 11. Hard to win when mistakes are more consistent than positive plays. Hope they can learn their jobs before we have to go through another rebuild.
  6. The videos underneath show the continuation. Basically Miller was not on page, ran the wrong route and ruined a play.
  7. At least he is a bright spot at either. Olin Kreutz thinks he can be an all-star LG. He also thinks he can be an All-Pro at C. That is the reason I wonder if they will take another shot, but this year, like many Bears years are not the time to experiment. They are always against the line to produce
  8. I can see the concerns but he will get reps regardless just so he can slide over if Whitehair goes down. It will be something to watch once they are allowed to practice, which I have a feeling they will be moving out of state to do. They might keep them slated in the same positions for now, but imo the unit would better be suited with the switch.
  9. Just curious on the thought of moving Daniel's back to center. I think that is were he flourishes, if he can overcome the mental aspects. I would feel better about it if the Bears can have a probowler like Warford on his right, but just read those talks are off. Still thought it would be worth considering. It is a difficult thought since it didn't work the first attempt, so do they scrap that idea? As a guard, he is not strong enough. At center, he wasn't ready to make the reads and calls. The organization is at a win at all costs point to save their jobs. What do they do?
  10. I get it, but go back 2 years and we thought our oline was solid. Pace thought they would get him to 2021 without having to invest heavy in. Now he is in PANIC mode. He brought in a handful of pieces that may or may not workout, but he had to toss many darts because our draft was limited the past 2 years. If Warford fits, they should sign him and let Ifedi/Spriggs challenge the OTs. Next year a first or second needs to be used on another OT as they need the cheaper contract and long term stability.
  11. I predict they start off 7-0 ??
  12. Like Trubisky, Shaheen has to prove himself. Not just show a glimpse of hope, but take the reins. It would great if he did, I always root for our own.
  13. Have to say, Pace has put some good work in with these regards in mind. I know it is a year away, but already thinking 2021 and potential needs: QB, OT, S, DT, RB, ILB.
  14. "But they took a guy with like shoulder surgeries" I love the pick and think they got a special player. Week 1, if he starts, will have Ridley or Jones as a matchup. It doesn't get much tougher than those two, so a good test.
  15. Nice piece on him. Makes it seem the Bears D will be in a much better position. With everyone healthy and Quinn>Floyd, Gipson>Dix, it helps this Johnson>Prince. The Bears could be a top 5-6 team if they take a Raven/Titan approach on O. So simple to see but Nagy be damned if he isn't the mad scientist.
  16. This is cloudy to understand. So they have a 53 man roster, a 12 man practice squad and a 2 man "tweener". The 2 tweeners are protected from poaching and actually dress game day. It seems like they can change who they have in this tweener role and they get paid extra while in it. Now we need to see if they are protected at the cutdown deadline from poaching. That makes an huge difference and if so, they might, even though doubtful, stash Mooney. I do see Mooney slated #2 Z behind Ginn. Patterson a Z at WR also may snatch a RB spot. If one if those tweeners has to be an Olineman, then Hambright seems fitting. He is OT/G versatile. The other, maybe they protect Shelly if he can even go to the PS.
  17. They will wait until this season is over before they think about it. He has not shown enough consistency otherwise they would have just picked up the 5th yr option. Basically they are done with him. If he proves them wrong, the Bears have 2 franchise tags (years 21 & 22) to insure they can keep him if a new deal cannot be worked.
  18. I no way want to see them lose Mooney. Just saying if there is a way to stash him they might. Look at Ridley who's draft status is even higher than Mooney, which experts said he could have been rd 2-3 talent. He was active for 5 games only. He played behind Miller, so it was hard to get in. Late round WR rookies rarely get action. If the Bears part way with Wims depends on FA addition Trevor Davis and if they feel better having him backing up Robinson. X (LWR) Robinson, Wims, (Davis) Y (Slot) Miller, Ridley Z (RWR) Ginn, Mooney, (Patterson) Since Patterson is a ST ace and a joker (WR/RB), they keep him even though his value at WR is low. He may see more snaps at RB as mentioned in another thread. Also, they have 2 additional roster spots. It helps on making tough decisions which will include keeping a CB like Shelly who may be on the bubble.
  19. If they go that route, wouldn't that kind of open a spot at WR? Montgomery, Patterson, Cohen, Nall/Peirce. Robinson X. Miller Y. Ginn Z Wims. X. Ridley Y. Mooney Z
  20. It's just my hunch they will stash him. Maybe they use one of the extra roster spots, practice squad, or a vague camp injury. We know rookie WRs rarely dress game day, so he is an extra unless they end up cutting Ginn after preseason. Use Ginn to that point.
  21. I'm glad it is an option, or was. Not sure what the CBA makes it. I hope he does it, overcomes the odds. It will be worth it just for the story and I am sure he may appreciate the push that made him.
  22. I hope they don't give up on Wims before he even hits year 3. He is next man up behind the X Robinson right now. Miller is going to play the slot with Patterson backing him. Ginn plays Z with Ridley behind him. With the Bears most likely running more two TE sets, the slot will be out more. Miller might line up at Z occasionally in those sets. To be honest, I would not be surprised to see Mooney redshirted/PS.
  23. I wouldn't, make him earn it. It might cost the Bears more if he lights it up, but it is the safer bet. If he fails, they can do a lot with that 24.8 million. The Bears can target another QB in the draft, which will probably cost them a future 1st plus some to move up.
  24. I like the Bears inside oline depth. I think Hambright makes a case for himself too. He started in 3 different schemes/systems from juco, OKL, and then Colorado. He can play pretty much any position except C too. If they can establish the RG position early on and then shuffle the remaining pcs after, they could have Massie/Leno pressing with the leftovers (Ifedi, Spriggs, Cowherd, Bars, Hambright, Simmons) knocking on their door. Oline coach Castillo like his players aggressive, little different approach, so it will be interesting battle. Next year they can shed Massie and Leno and use their cap savings to extend Ifedi and Spriggs if they earn their spot. They will also have high draft picks to address a spot along the oline.
  25. And if they would give team a bone, it would be Dallas. I've noticed that with home Prime Time games. The NFL sure likes to promote their new stadium.
