Was Kyle Long in camp with the Bears?
(Kyle Long signed with KC Chiefs)
Love this team adding speed. If they can establish a balance, they could be good. Need a decent to strong run game.
This is mainly the D vets. They are still getting the scheme assignments through their tablets. Look at it this way, this gives opportunity to younger players to showcase and step up if needed. If the vets are worried about losing their job, they'd be there
When he speaks at the podium, like recently after practice #1 or 2, he sounded like a veteran. He says the right things. I think he will be ready sooner than later to start, but want him to take everything he can in and learn from Dalton and Foles.
I am glad the magic worked to make Fields available at the Giants slot. That has brought in a new energy that feels a little different than any other time. A rookie QB puts the Bears back in a window to keep or sign key free agents also in a year or two.
I watched a film on Fields how his diet is strictly plant based or almost vegan. Fields said with his genes he would blow up if he didn't keep a strict diet.
Put him at LT, because they always said Kyle Long could be a LT but he never made it there. Get him trained year one on the go.
But I thought Jenkins best fit was RT by his profile description.
Kmet played inline or Y and did well. I wouldn't change much other than use him more as they did later in the season. I would keep Graham around. He was used as the X TE, basically a slot WR.
I'd be alright with Breeland CB, Houston OLB, and Schwartz RT all on cheap 1 or 2 year deals. Won't have the full hand next draft, so will need some FA help.
Figuring next year they will be looking:OLB, OT, WR, CB, DT, ILB, SS.
I wonder how much familiarity Justin Fields has with Javon Wims and Riley Ridley from his time at Georgia? Be nice to see them two bums become something.
This sums up the new age-online Chicago Bears fan (if you ever spend time reading fan comments). Best thing on the internet today. Welcome Justin Fields.
I watched about an hour of pre-draft video on him and that was one flaw. He needs to figure out the wiggles in the pocket to avoid the rush. He is intelligent, so I would think he figures this out too. This is why I think they need to take their time with him. He may be the best athlete in the QB room, but let him learn holding the clipboard for 8-12 games or until he plays mistake free.
Everyone saying he needs to start game 1 are the same people who buy a Corvette in January and instead of keeping it in the garage, they drive it on snow. No thought about ruining it, you bought it so why park it. ???
One of Fields biggest issues is picking up the blitz. Teams will test him early to see if he fixed that issue. This is why I bet the Bears drafted two linemen right after.
In the Pace/Nagy interview, Pace mentioned they have the strategy laid out to get through this. It will be interesting to see. I would like to see Arob and Hicks contracts re-done to keep them both around for the SB run.
It better be his wake up call. I think a lot of the team were fed up with the old QB. Now we will see their tunes change as Fields can be that guy who can elevate the offense.
Some thoughts....
Think Miller still wants out? Bet he wants to stay now.
Have you seen Eddie Jacksons comment after the Bears got Fields. He said they finally have a real QB. I wish we had a real FS.
