Yeah I'd like to see that if he can't get another HC gig. The one thing going for us is that there is only 6 openings as of right now and the raiders gig was gtd to go to gruden the second del Rio was let go.
-
And I think I read somewhere that Cutler will not be back next yr. I've got a co-worker that's a dolphins fan and she likes to give me crap. But if the dolphins keep getting Chicago rejects she might want to hide.
-
Totally agree. I like bed watching the videos that have circulated of him breaking down plays from an X's and O's standpoint. Really loved his demeanor and how thorough he was with the plays
-
Yeah I love Pop. Not many can get away with his type of conferences
-
I just can't believe he would leave Minnesota to come here for the same position he currently has. Unless there's speculation Minnesota won't retain him which would be foolish
-
Could you imagine the weekly press conferences with him lol. He hated talking to the media. As he has said it's the same guys every week asking the same stupid questions lol
-
He never came off to me as a guy who wants that. Remember during his playing days he made it a point that the public rarely ever even got a glimpse of his family. Especially his kids. Can't imagine that's changed much.
-
Sure your going to find guys like chip who failed but there are also those that have succeeded
-
I wouldn't mind a college coach if it's the right guy. Part of likes David shaw and call me crazy but personally I would like to see Pat Fitzgerald get an opportunity but Pat is probably way outside the box thinking
-
Don't see how they have gruden as a 2nd time coach when technically he was traded from Oakland to Tampa in the infamous rant from Al Davis saying he can find another Chucky in any Walmart in America
-
Exactly. This certainly has taken a lot longer of a rebuild than anyone would like to have. Seems like previous regimes just screwed us with bad contracts like Cutler's compounded with the fact they couldn't draft to save there ass so they were forced into using FAs to fill out the roster. Which led to an older roster and because we had Cutler they failed to try and use a high draft pick on a potential replacement. In steps pace who gets rid of Cutler as soon as his contract allowed us to and then he swings big to grab Mitch. High risk with the trade up but if it pays off then nobody will care what it costs in the end because we will finally have that guy while other teams will be where we were
-
To say pace has done nothing is a bit of a stretch. Did you forget that 3 yrs ago when he took over the locker room was a complete mess with lots of cancerous players and 1 of the oldest teams in the league. He has completely revamped the entire roster and it's now 1 of the younger ones. And it sounds like the locker room is a night better place. Sure he has missed big time in FA and has made some very questionable calls in the draft. Did he deserve an extension? Hell no. The team does look good with a young potentially very good QB at the helm. The cap situation is extremely healthy

After doing some reading on the athletic they have a great article on defillippo. He's got me excited
-
Pace certainly is tied to trubisky. I did like that he's willing to take some of the blame. Let's hope he gets it right with the hot hiring
-
Ted Phillips announced a 2 yr extension for pace today during the press conference. Everything else he said was complete garbage like usual and pace didn't really say much either except it's a "collaborative effort between him, Ted and George about the head coach search but he's got full final say as he should on it
-
I know our last offensive minded guy didn't go well. However I want to a offensive minded guy. Defilippo is certainly interesting. He's done good work in Philly
-
I'm interested in Nagy. That offense did pretty well during the short time he got to call plays.
-
Per Adam schefter Fox is officially gone.
-
Personally for me Cortland Sutton is my guy
-
I streamed the 1st half of the game while my fiance was driving and she was literally telling the kids to ignore anything dad says. My truckers mouth came out in full swing I couldn't believe how horrible that play calling was. After the 1st half I stopped. I couldn't bring myself to watch anymore of that disaster. Thank heavens fox and company are gone
-
Contribute? Well according to multiple sources connected with the team that's exactly what he does with trubisky. He's more or less a players coach. I know everyone wants that 3rd string QB who could step in and play and pick up right where the starter left off. But let's be honest how many 3rd string QBs can step in like he's been the starter the entire time. I only know of 1. Case keenum had he ain't coming here
-
Sanchez wouldn't be signed for any more than a 3rd QB. And honestly if we get to 3rd QB we are screwed regardless of who is taking the snaps.
-
Technically speaking the rule states that the player would need to be released once he is healthy. But considering Rodgers is one if the golden boys of the NFL it won't happen. I'm betting the rework the rule and gb gets penalized some draft pick. But it's tough because it GBs defense the NFL has to approve all IR related transactions. So in this case the NFL agreed with putting him on there and nothing would have come from it until several teams started complaining
-
I'd love to see the packers give him an extension now though. He's got 2 yrs left but no gtd money left. It's just his base and then am additional $1.1M per yr available through roster and workout bonuses. If they extend him his contract is going to be very costly towards the back end and considering he's already 34 it could look very badly given his injury history and the fact his oline couldn't block shit
-
I looked at Rodgers and I don't think he's got any cap hit. Some Claus in his contract that allows an out. However it'll never happen
