  1. Wonder how much that will change though considering trubisky is far from a seasoned vet like Smith
  2. Short term as in 2018 season any reasonable thinking would have oak and Det ahead of us an Indy all depends on what transpires with luck. If he does need another surgery like I've heard then no they will suck once again. If he's healthy it's possible they finish ahead of us as well. But it's literally impossible to grade that when we still have FA and the draft ahead of us.
  3. Yeah we essentially get an extra 2 weeks of practice time 1 at end of April because we have a new HC and then 1 from the extra game. I know that starters may only play 1 series but he needs ask the extra reps he can get especially considering he's going to have a brand new set of receivers to throw to or at least he should

    HOF game

It's been announced that we will play the Ravens in the hall of fame game this yr. I think I saw it's slated for Aug 3. I like having that 5th preseason game with the new coaching staff and gives trubisky even more game reps
  5. It's clear that they only looked at 1 statistic to make there case which is beyond horrible to do. Because there is no 1 catch all stat to determine things in any sport. These probably only looked at points per game allowed. That was the ultimate bend but don't break defense. They would give up 400+ yards but only allow 13 lol. Once again you can't possibly make a good conclusion on these hires until the season actually starts. But in today's 24/7/365 news cycle the members of the media will invent anything to talk about. Hell I saw 1 report that's already determined that we will pick #1 overall in 2019. Please tell me how they can determine something like that when the 2018 off-season hasn't even started
  6. I always find stuff like this absolutely hilarious. Just curious how in the world do you grade some based on what amounts to nothing. No one has played a single game. Hell the 2018 off season hasn't even begun
  7. If pace misses with the top 10 pick again he will likely lose his job. That has nothing to do with any position in particular because of his track record with top picks. Not just 1 particular position. Now I'm not going to sit here and say that pace had to take WR because that's stupid. I also don't want him to just go by your rankings or experts rankings. I want him to draft based on his rankings. Don't want him to cross off WR in the 1st Rd just because of white either because that is also stupid. If pace doesn't think any wr is worthy of top 10 I want it to be based solely on that individual no one else. If Ridley is taken by us with the 8th pick he will either succeed or fail on his own I guarantee it will have nothing to do with white
  8. I agree the position has more risk. Part of the problem with top 10 WRs is they generally go to a team with crap for QBs so it could be they fail because of that. White I won't sit here and blame pace like some do and say that he shouldn't take a WR in the 1st just because he missed on white. White has been 100% injury related. These things happen all the time and just because he got hurt doesn't guarantee the next person will or that he's destined to fail. Im willing to bet that pace isn't thinking about white when it comes to drafting someone
  9. Personally I think Ridley is worthy of top 10. I know hardly any ranking experts disagree with me but that's not going to make me change my mind. I think he's a #1 WR if he has a good QB that can get him the ball. He put up pretty good numbers with trash throwing him the ball
  10. I get the whole body of work argument and I agree he isn't worth that. However the reason he got it is because he had all the leverage because SF failed to get something done when they 1st acquired him. SF made the mistake and they have paid for it. However they have over $100M cap room so this deal won't hurt them financially if it doesn't work out
  11. I absolutely want Nelson hands down. I've had a sense all along though that he won't be available. If he's gone I'm between Edmunds and Ridley
  12. Finally saw a good breakdown on this deal over at overthecap.com. Essentially this deal is good for both team and player. It's extremely front loaded. The team has outs after the 2019 and 2020 seasons by April 1. So if he doesn't perform he's gone and SF doesn't have a huge dead money problem. Unlike over in Buffalo where they can't get out of the tyrod Taylor situation. He basically got an extra $9M in the 1st seasons compared to if he was tagged this yr and next. I really like the deal overall
  13. SF made a huge mistake by not signing him long term at the time of the trade when SF had all the leverage. But they waited which shifted all the leverage to Jimmy G. Love him or not. He had all the leverage so I knew he was going to break the bank because they could ask for the moon and SF had to give in or tag him especially after the way he played down the stretch once he became the starter
  14. We can't go and get all wrapped up in who won or lost these decisions. The only thing that matters is developing trubisky. As long as he works out I don't care if SF, KC or HOU all do well or not. It is very possible for all to work out
  15. I'm not the biggest fan of developing someone at 1 position on the line for several years and to move them to another position. IMO it stunts there overall growth. Sure it might still be the tackle position but it's opposite sides and different techniques got each side
  16. I'm interested to see what the actual details look like
  17. If you go according to the experts he's a guard only. But HH would know best he's been there the entire time
  18. Mcglinchey is not like massie. He's much much better.
  19. I thought I saw that Nelson is only a guard
  20. And the experts have never been wrong before have they.
  21. That top 10 could be another Randy moss. You never know
  22. I would hate any draft that involves us trading out of the top 15 much less out of the 1st Rd all together
  23. Totally agree. If I'm a coach I'd never work for him even if it was lucrative
  24. Very true. It's funny listening to former players talk candidly about him. Get the sense that he ain't got many true friends lol. For what it's worth I found it interesting the McDaniels and Ballard had the same agent. That is until just today when the agent fired McDaniels lol
  25. Belicheck ain't going anywhere as long as Brady is around I believe
