Look we addressed LB in Free Agency and have bought some time. This this LB unit is still a strength on the team. Sexy or not we are decades overdue to infusing the offensive side of the ball with talent and the drought must end now starting with OL. I take the best Center availble in the secound round.

How nice would it have been if they drafted Decastro LG last year in the first?

I agree. This team right now is already better than last year's team on paper. When you look at Wessons post on the 2013 opponents the Bears play, I feel the majority of the teams have taken steps backwards. The Lions will be the worst team in the North. Bears should be able to compete with GB as long as Emery continues to upgrade the OL. I actually think the Browns will be better than both the Vikings and Lions. Health will always be a key factor. Right now I expect a top 10 defense give or take as we still have Briggs and Tillman's leadership with the core on defense relatively intact while getting a little younger on that side of the ball as well. Residing here in Denver, DJ Williams, a former captain was very well liked in the locker room and respected for his play by his teamamtes. Hopefully he has learned from his past off field mistakes. THE DRAFT: If we can get a starting Center and Guard out of this draft with depth at other positions the Bears will make Urlacher regret not coming back on a team friendly contract. If the Oline is infused with youth and talent we can expect Jay and the O to be more consistent and grow into a potent modern offense this year. I actually think Jay has improved each year here even while running for his life. He is a solid pro who is a competitor that wants to win. He is kinda like the A. J. Pierzynski of the Bears. Besides that Jay is in a contract year and I expect him to fully imerse himself in the new system and be all in! Special Teams seems to be adding a lot of speed with some of the safties that have been signed and should be better as well. Hopefully Gould is healthy and ready to go. Overall, I think Emery is doing a very good job of bringing in solid, younger veterans and has increased team speed as well as providing the franchise much needed flexibility going forward. Has anyone realized how many players were signed to one year deals as well as there are quite a few players entering the final year of their deals? Emery seems to be very strategic in his approach something that has been lacking for years from this Front Office. I also like the quality of the players and coaches that Emery has brought to the Bears already: B Marshall, DJ Willams and James Anderson. From a leadership standpoint I think he carefully evaluated Lovie et ol for a season and decide that he could not win with them and sent them on thier way! I predict that the Bears will be a pleasant suprise this year and be playoff bound.

How about Hester and Harvey Unga!

I feel we need an upgrade a Center as well and hopeful that any rookie center drafted would be able to push Garza out of the starting lineup.
-
Unfortunately if he has a play like that this year he will be probably receive a 15 yd penalty for roughing the defender.

Although I am disappointed that #54 is being greedy atleast we have a GM that seemingly will not overpay for a quality player in the twilight of his career. What does bothers me is the uncertainty of what will happen moving forward with Plan B. So will Emery look to bring in two vet LBs like Jones in Green Bay and Smith from Jacksonville to fill the spots vacated by Urlacher and Roach? I hope they will add to the OL as well as I am not liking the current Draftek Mock where they take a WR in RD 1, LB in RD 2, CB in RD 4, DT in RD 5 and only 1 OL, a center in the 6th. I think we need to DRAFT BPA: OG, LB, OC with signing a LG and 2 LB in FA. Hopefully the Center and Guards drafted are high enough to come in and compete for starting jobs this year. There is NO margin for error and we can not make any sketchy picks like years past i.e Bauzine, Gilbert et ol. We need 2-3 day one starters out of this draft class for this season. On the positive side, OL and LB are positions when drafted in the top 4 rounds that this may be a reasonable expectation.

Salary is only part of the money. $2 Million plus whatever he makes in endorsements in one of th elargest markets in the country? I side with management and let 54 walk if he won't play for $2M. Good luck getting more than $2M and the endorsements in Minny. Jay, must be thinking to him self whose the Pu$$y now?

Getting Bushrod was like getting something for Christmas that you already got the year before. I would have been estatic though if we got boh Bennett and Jake Long. Hopefully, Bushrod will prove to be solid.

We have the kid from whitewater wi to develop. He looked decent in preseason last year.

Here is another media attempt to spoil our day; http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...43213--nfl.html Tebow; seriously you have to go there Florio?

I saw this post on another site and thought it was halarious: "Brent Musburger thinks Te'o fake girlfriend is hot" My view is it's strange situation that Te'o finds himself in but don't care one way or another if its true or not. Kids do stupid things all the time for attention. If he gets drafted I hope he has learned his lesson.

Allen might get fined for hit (should get fined)

Perhaps he deserves a suspension (against BEARS) and a fine! -
Here is what the bears need to do with their next draft - pick offensive line with every single pick in each round including the Supplemental Draft in 2013.

All I have to say is where is the commissioner's office in all this? I mean if the safety committee suspends Ed Reed after his most recent alleged illegal hit but now changed it to $50k fine than I argue why have they failed to investigate and atleast try suspending the entire Bears front office for continually placing their own qbs in harm's way behind this less than inferiorating and OFFENSIVE LINE???? It's sad that the hostess union and maker of the twinkies union has more power than the NFL players union? Musin Mohamed had this wrong; it's Quarterbacks that come to Chicago to die; not widerecievers!!!
-
Why not have Briggs and Tillman as Co-defensive players of the week?
-
Jerry has a call into the jets to check the availability of one Tim Tebow......lol
-
Even the replacement officials would have gotten that one right!

Do lovie and his bonehead flunkies even watch the games???

The problem is who is out there besides the big Chin Cower and Chucky Gruden that have championship experience? I would love to find the next Mike Tomlin though. -
Could not of agree more. What a terrible play design in the redzone. It's hard enough to score TD's in the red zone and most teams not named the Bears look to create a mismatch in this area not do the opposing team's defense any favors. these are the types of plays that we saw from this staff last year when they did not use it personel to it's strengths. Even in today's game John Lynch commeted that they were trying to run Bush to the outsicde which is Forte's strength while Bush is a more in between the tackles runner. Hopefully the OL can gel like it did after the Giants game last season where they establish a solid running game and develped some type of idenity on O. Good news is that SF, DET both lost today to lesser teams.

I say trade him for a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick that could be packaged to trade up in the first for the top LT in 2013 draft. Then use the money to sign a LG.

Honestly Terror, this is probably your best / funniest post!
