  1. That series book-ended by two Khalils. Mack for the Sack…and Herbert for the TD!!! great start guys!!! You notice both Lazor and Pettine sitting next to each other in the box during the drive? I like it.
  2. At the risk of jinxing us a few more ‘cool facts’: the Bears are undefeated at home and beat the Bengals without OT. The packers did it in that infamous FG shootout in OT. edit: and they just lost their starting center.
  3. Here’s all that needs said. Unless it turns into a blowout loss, I’ll watch it from end to end. We know the Chicago faithful will be there in full chorus. Go Bears!
  4. I had seen some other rumors to that effect after Monty got hurt. The name Jordan Howard came up. He’s on someone’s practice roster currently. Herbert reminds me of him (and not just because of #24). Jordan would be a cheap option and he’s durable.
  5. Yeah there was a story linked to the Tweet. I like getting the tweet for the responses. The article was speculative on a few things, some of which you mentioned. There was also talk of extending ARob or just saving cap for transfer to next year. How that works I have no idea. But with the timing i’d guess you’re right; either an extension for someone and/or trade. Deadline is next month (?)
  6. The Bears announced ROT Ifedi is going to ‘non-season ending’ IR (strained MCL). Meaning Elijah Wilkinson will be getting more at that position. Good or bad thing? And for those who care, Ledarius “Little” Mack is back on the Practice Roster. I for one am glad he’s back.
  7. Lol…fair enough. I suppose any precipitous jump would be worthy of note. And Lazor and Fields given full credit.
  8. Stole this from another social media site, but is this accurate? Our offense is dead last in total yards? Yikes!!
  9. I don’t feel too awful for Gruden given he got at least $30 million from the team before he resigned (3 years coaching x $10million per year). It’s unfortunate that someone decided now was the time to ‘grind axes’ but someone else here pointed out Gruden doesn’t appear to have changed his stripes either.
  10. Mike Pettine will have some interesting perspective to offer after spending 3 seasons as the Packers DC (2018-20). Their o-line is vulnerable with Bahktiari still out. They did well holding off Bosa a few weeks ago and TJ Watt after that. Not sure the same will be said about Mack AND Quinn. Rodgers is always the x-factor in these games. Limit him and you limit the team.
  11. And if we recall, there was an awful lot of discussion about Russell Wilson possibly coming to Chicago. When (allegedly) Carroll submarined the plan the team went to plan ‘B’. I have to believe that Lazor had some input on Dalton being that choice.
  12. And now the Giants are without Daniel Jones for a bit with a concussion. Their backup? Mike Glennon. ?? Maybe they’ll be in the market for Dalton or Foles? Honestly at this point I’d prefer the Bears keep Dalton and see if someone would trade for Foles. Of the two he’s (Dalton) more mobile and less made of balsawood.
  13. Agreed. He’s been overlooked for Pro Bowl consideration at least last year. It would be simple robbery if he’s not chosen this year.
  14. Those were probably some of the highest of highlights in the game. BearFan I agree that the Raiders seem like dirty but if nothing else they are certainly undisciplined. Early in the game they had two offensive holding calls (simultaneously by two players) on the same play. That no doubt contributed to the Bears being able to score early on. And yes there were some cheap shots taken by them a few times. On the other hand, Roquan continues to become an all around serious LB. Today he showed some serious (Danny T like) thumping ability. Unfortunately his hits, although clean look a lot more ‘illegal’ from the naked eye and probably will get called every time. He crunched both Carr and the backup QB in nearly back to back plays. Both were with the shoulder but left an imprint and garnered at least one penalty. Overall the Bears looked ok. Other than him not being ready, Dalton looked solid in relief duty. Given how beat up Justin had been at that point i would’ve had no issue with him sitting out until halftime. Offense maybe scored a ‘C’ while the defense got a ‘B+’.
  15. Maybe they’re swapping out between plays? ?. Oakland has been helping a lot with all the penalties. The one play with three TEs in (Horstead, Graham and Kmet) was too creative and sensible to be called by Nagy.
  16. First series possessions = garbage for both teams. Chicago’s O sputtered (no thanks to former 1st round pick Ifedi’s false start - again). Oakland’s O was more affected by Chicago’s D. Quinn with a lighting quick stop on the first carry.
  17. Sports Illustrated agrees. In fact they have Foles (1) and Dalton (2) as options. I’d have thought this would be a good place for Trubisky to go but he’s the only guy behind Allen in Buff so ain’t happening. https://www.si.com/nfl/seahawks/gm-report/analysis-7-quarterbacks-seahawks-should-consider-acquiring-in-russell-wilsons-absence
  18. For as ridiculous as Nagy is, at least he ain’t Urban Meyer. The recent ‘dancing’ controversy, 0-4 record and riding separately home from the team after the last loss. What a mess. https://sports.yahoo.com/urban-meyer-reportedly-continues-apology-tour-at-jaguars-team-meeting-152541268.html
