  1. Sorry TD, didn't see your earlier post.
  2. I agree. Harrison has lost it, and I read he doesn't have his heart in the game anymore. So, while he's got a ton of experience, I don't think he brings anything to the table execpt asking for a paycheck. Holt, I am hoping, will get picked up by us.
  3. Geroge McCafee helped make the Bears who they are, historically. (Just hope that JA and Lovie were taking note of our hallowed position in the league that Papa Bear started): From the Bears site: "George McAfee helped establish the proud tradition of the Chicago Bears. His versatility led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as he played offense, defense and special teams on three championship teams (1940, 1941 and 1946)," the Bears said in a statement. "George also served his country in the Navy during WWII. We are proud to have him as an integral part of our history and are saddened by his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family." Thaks George.
  4. Sims is signing with Denver? What happened to all the players Denver already had prior to FA? Did they release them? Man, they seem to be signing every player in sight. Maybe I should give them a call. They must need some camp fodder for all those newly signed guys to knock around!
  5. In summarry, I'd say JA was well prepared for the interview. He ran all around every question and gave away nothing other than the fact that the team is hoarding its $. QB? Orton is the man, kind of, and after him we don't have a clue. Trade, don't call us unless you're giving the player away. WR, we like collecting non-no. 1s. Draft? It's a crap shoot that JA wishes he didn't have to face. So JA said nothing that made me feel any better about the team I love. Damn!

    T. O. cut

The league should step in and force JA to sign TO. We are the team where WRs go to die, so we would be doing the rest of the league a favor in ridding it of the cancer that is TO. Hell, think about it, he couldn't even last with the Cowboys. No, seriously, I don't want TO in Black and Orange. He would take over the team, swagger about, complain all year, thow everyone under the bus and I'd rather not listen to that crap for the whole year from my team.
  7. Ain't that the truth! It feels like we are not a big market team the way the leadership goes about things. Just sit bak and let the league move on around us. God forbid we'd bring in a top F and he'd bust. But then again, we aren't doing anything without them. So why not take a shot once in a while? Are they afraid of actually making it all the way to the top?
  8. ...isn't it? To read all the KFFL, PFT, etc. blurbs about guys visiting teams and not see the Bears mentioned once? I just wish JA would show a bit more movement. We do have holes and there are players out there that can help. My gosh, are we painting ourselves into acorner for the draft or what?
  9. I like conspiracy theories as much as the next guy, but I tend to agree with you jason. I think it's more about coaching than players for us. Yes, we still need OL help, WRs that can get open, a replacement for Brown at S and a backup QB. So, I think JA is looking to sign someone for those spots at a bargain price (which I disagree with) and then look at the draft. I'm hoping that we can get over the hump next season and feel that JA is too.
  10. Eliminate Tampa as an opption for Jones. They signed Ward. I would like to hve Jones return for another season. But we'll just have to see what, if any, offers he gets from other teams.
  11. Me too. Let's go after a bigger kid who can catch anything thrwn his way and can work off the jam at the LOS.
  12. In the article (SunTimes?) he says he wasn't 100%. Also says he loves being here, but it's a business and he will go where he can get paid. Yeah, I'd like to have him back, but I just bet he'll get an offer and we won't match. Too bad. He knows the system and is now ready to be a complete contributor.
  13. Excellent point bradjock. Tait's retiring means we've got a big hole. While he seemed like he didn't play up to his level last season, he still represented an experienced RTwho knew how to get the job done. This really does mean we need more than one FA and resigning to fix our disgraceful OL.
  14. Well, if you put it that way, I agree!
  15. I agree. He's young and versatile and, based on what's going down elsewhere, not taking a big chunk of cap money. I now want JA to get a OT in FA and then add some young OL via the draft. If we don't solidify the OL we are never going to function offensively.
  16. Hey Jason, do you really want to shoot yourself in the foot? You hope that our coaching staff looks bad? Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face?
  17. Kffl has the Raiders going after Barnes. That, along with Moore and Dockery being off the table, means that JA is hoping to resign St. Clair and then pick up a 3rd round or higher draft choice for OT-OG. Man, I just would like JA to get into the game and solidify the OL. He seems to try to outhink everyone, kind of like our Coordinator's game plans. Just play to our strengths, don't try to get thing on the cheap. What's the point?
  18. Those are two moves I'd also love to see, Mongo. I'd rather fix the OL with vets at this point, vest that still have a few years left in the league. Then we can get BPA in the draft.
  19. I expected that! Especially from you, MadLith!
  20. KFFL says that the Lions are interested in Rex. Or vice versa? Now wouldn't that be interesting?
  21. Forget him. We aren't going to spend the $ and he doesn't want to be here either. This is where WRs come to die, remember?!
  22. Agree. Rex had his bad moments, but he also was the QB when we went to the Super Bolw last. He's a good kid that did not desre the piling on he got from the fans. Wish him luck.
  23. Here's the SunTimes article: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/02/be..._agency_si.html Omiyale is young, 26, and can play OG or OT. Doesn't bode well for St. Clair. Now who else do we bring in?
  24. It's way too early, but I know Banks has to take a stab. I just hope that we sign some expereinced OL in FA that will let us get some playmakers and future studs in the draft.
  25. This is certainly going to make for an interesting FA period. Let the fun begin a midnight! I just hope that JA will bring in some OL help via FA . These guys are experienced, just what JA likes in OLmen, and it will enable us to use draft picks on BPA-impact-future long-termers (OL depth?DE?LB?).
