  1. Me too. Let's go after a bigger kid who can catch anything thrwn his way and can work off the jam at the LOS.
  2. In the article (SunTimes?) he says he wasn't 100%. Also says he loves being here, but it's a business and he will go where he can get paid. Yeah, I'd like to have him back, but I just bet he'll get an offer and we won't match. Too bad. He knows the system and is now ready to be a complete contributor.
  3. Excellent point bradjock. Tait's retiring means we've got a big hole. While he seemed like he didn't play up to his level last season, he still represented an experienced RTwho knew how to get the job done. This really does mean we need more than one FA and resigning to fix our disgraceful OL.
  4. Well, if you put it that way, I agree!
  5. I agree. He's young and versatile and, based on what's going down elsewhere, not taking a big chunk of cap money. I now want JA to get a OT in FA and then add some young OL via the draft. If we don't solidify the OL we are never going to function offensively.
  6. Hey Jason, do you really want to shoot yourself in the foot? You hope that our coaching staff looks bad? Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face?
  7. Kffl has the Raiders going after Barnes. That, along with Moore and Dockery being off the table, means that JA is hoping to resign St. Clair and then pick up a 3rd round or higher draft choice for OT-OG. Man, I just would like JA to get into the game and solidify the OL. He seems to try to outhink everyone, kind of like our Coordinator's game plans. Just play to our strengths, don't try to get thing on the cheap. What's the point?
  8. Those are two moves I'd also love to see, Mongo. I'd rather fix the OL with vets at this point, vest that still have a few years left in the league. Then we can get BPA in the draft.
  9. I expected that! Especially from you, MadLith!
  10. KFFL says that the Lions are interested in Rex. Or vice versa? Now wouldn't that be interesting?
  11. Forget him. We aren't going to spend the $ and he doesn't want to be here either. This is where WRs come to die, remember?!
  12. Agree. Rex had his bad moments, but he also was the QB when we went to the Super Bolw last. He's a good kid that did not desre the piling on he got from the fans. Wish him luck.
  13. Here's the SunTimes article: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/02/be..._agency_si.html Omiyale is young, 26, and can play OG or OT. Doesn't bode well for St. Clair. Now who else do we bring in?
  14. It's way too early, but I know Banks has to take a stab. I just hope that we sign some expereinced OL in FA that will let us get some playmakers and future studs in the draft.
  15. This is certainly going to make for an interesting FA period. Let the fun begin a midnight! I just hope that JA will bring in some OL help via FA . These guys are experienced, just what JA likes in OLmen, and it will enable us to use draft picks on BPA-impact-future long-termers (OL depth?DE?LB?).
  16. Read the article and yes, I can see how it is "calling out" the coaches. But heh, havn't we all been doing that for the past season? It's about time that JA gets some semblance of holding Lovie and the guys he brings in accountable. I do agree, also, that we need to improve our player quality at the same time. If JA doesn't step it up in FA and the draft, he's got the same problem that he's alluding to with the coaches.

    Weird idea

I like the way that looks. It helps out with our weaknesses AND it gives us a freerer hand with the draft. Now, is JA listening?
  18. It's good to see that the Vikes are not making any progress long-term at QB. Seems like they are worse off than us at that position.
  19. Wow, that's one hell of a long list. I sure hope Lovie and JA are doing their due dilligence on this and sign the right guys to solidify the line. It looks to me like it could be done, with the right FA and some solid draft selections. But then again, this ain't no perfect world and the Bears don't fill me with confidence about their ability to get this done right.
  20. I agree. Bring in experinced OL and then grab BPA on draft day.
  21. Crabtree is not getting out of the top 10. Supposedly he played all last season with the stress fracture and it is relatively simple to repair. Smith probably will be there at 18, but I can't see JA getting him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fall to no. 32 or to the second round.
  22. I don't have any problem with the offer. St. Clair was adequate last season when Williams went down. He has been healthy, versatile and he knows the system. I do thin he'll test the market on Friday, but I'm hopefull that he signs with us. Then, if we could get Barnes we'd be in good shape at T and could draft a G to develop.
  23. I'd go for that as well. Trade up and grab a top OT or WR. But I think there's a snowball's chance. . . for that happening.
  24. Solid arguement MLWBear. I think Barnes should b on JA's radar.
  25. Oher--we gotta get the OL in working order and, hopefully, for years to come.
