What's the law, you know, like Murphy's, that says you get promoted to the point of your incompetency? Perhaps that is Marinelli's case. Hey, Tampa certainly did not have DL problems when he was the coach there. And he did go directly from DL coach to head coach. I don't have a problem with him coming in. His son-in-law, though, is another matter. This strikes me as a deal that reunites the old boys from the Bucs and Marinelli agrees 'cause his son-in-law gets to stay close and is employed. That I don't like.

Back at ya! It was alot of fun. I'll be in Tampa for the Super Bowl--but not to attend, but visit my mom and Siter who ives there. I hope to take in some of the free festivities, if those exist! Agree with you on this Jason. I got to watch the game (only the Rose Bowl and the championship college games are shown here). It was a big time hit, and he did lead with his helmet. And yes, all the sissy penalties have made a violent game into a near-flag football sport. I agree with protecting players, but this is FOOTBALL. Violence is part of it and players are now worried about protecting their wallets and owners want to favor big time Offensive games, so these rules have dilluted the game, IMdO.

Fix the OL. It all starts in the trenches. And I'd expect Marinelli, when Lovie gets him, will bring some umph to the D line. Keep grooming Beekman to take over for Kreutz, keep St. Clair to push Beekman at LG, get a solid sub for Tait and get us a RG that can bulldoze for Forte.

No to Mike Martz. He won't get it done here.

I can agree with #s 1 & 2, but we don't know if Hanie is "not NFL worthy." I am with many of the other posters here in believing Hanie to be a keeper based on his preseason performance.If he can stay off thefield and learn for at least one more year it will mean he's more "NFL worthy" and that those ahead of him on the depth chart are getting the job done. Hanie is a keeper.

I agree, and I bet that Lovie has been on the phone with Marinelli already.Babich is an easy scapegoat. Let's see if Lovie throws him under the bus. It just seems to me, though, that the league has figured out the Cover 2/Tampa 2/ Lovie 2 scheme. And Lovie is not one to alter his approach one iota. So we are stuck with Lovie and the scheme.

A few more positives: Lions are 0-16 and likely will need a new coach, again. Puckers finish at 6-10. Not all is bad!

Kyle will be back, based on the progress he showed during the year. We do need to have a viable candidate to challenge him in TC. FA? Draftee? Don't know. But yea, I don't think that QB is the top priority need on this team. WRs and OL and a replacement for Brown are, IMdO.

I think people tend to bring up the negatives before anything else. Heck, when we went to the Super Bowl there were tons of negative psot prior to the game. There are positives from the season, but I can't look at thems until tomorrow. This loss was heartless and, again, it seems the team did not come to play. The lack of fire/desire to do what it takes to win these close games is damning. Lovie needs to get some grit!

Not attacking you kyyle23, but those that would say the team did a good job considering the prognosticator's outlook. If the team really thought they wouldn't make it when the season started, then I'm very disappointed. We had shots all through the season and stupid mistakes caused looses that were within our grasp.

This loss makes the season a disappointment. And I was, and will be, waiting for the rationalizations that we didn't have a snowball's chance from day one. We were right in it up to this game and the team did not show up. It is embarrassing.
