Agree. It would be very difficult for me to see us drafting a QB at no. 14. Whoever it would be would want big $ and could be a pain to sign. I want OT with the first pick.

Joe Flacco: future Bears QB?
MMMMMMMMMMM! Balmy Delaware. . . . Oh yeah!

THE DRAFT and FA
I would also feel better seeing OL be the top priority in the Draft. LT is amust. We can keep the kid around for a ong time and can also move Tait back to the right. It is damn tough to find a team that will let a good LT get away from them via FA. If an LT is there at 14 and he is promising, I say take him. OL is where offensive success begins.

Why is Berrian getting so much love?
I agree on this. A third TE seems to have little value when we all know the crap we've gone through at RB. Makes much more sense to carry 4 RBs with Wolfe and AP also being on STs. And that extra FB? How much does he get in? with so many leaks that need plugging, JA needs to take a closer look at value for the $ and roster spot.

Jim Dooley Passed Away
According to SI.com former Bears coach Jim Dooley died at age 77. Man, he had Butkus and Sayers on the team and they went 1-13 in 1969. He also was an assistant under Ditka. R:I.P "When Jim was first drafted, he called ... Coach Halas and said, `What's my bonus?"' Elaine Dooley recalled. "Halas said, `Your bonus is you're drafted for the Chicago Bears."'

Redskins after Briggs and Berrian
I'd go for Transition Tag. It's cheaper and, while I would like us to keep Berrian, I don't think he should get paid like a top WR as per the Franchise Tag. And we can match or get compensation, which I like.

Why is Berrian getting so much love?
I think he comes back and the competition in TC ends with him being released. They just have to bring in someone who can block as well as compete with Ced for the starting RB spot.

Skill Positions
Just fix the OLine and alot of things will beging to fall into place on offense.

Mendenhall to enter draft
If we do nothing else in the offseason BUT fix the OLine in the offseason we should be improved. The Oline is the primary concern for sure.

JA intends on bringing Rex back
I think that's an excellent point. We are going to draft from need, but also BPA. I think we can get a QB after rd. one. WR seems to be a difficult position to find from what I've read--either through FA or the draft. I won't be all that surprised to see us take a OL or DB with the 14th pick. Or trade out.

JA intends on bringing Rex back
I know the logic, and I hope it works that way, but we all know about "a perfect world"!

JA on the score at 10
You could be right, and worse things could happen. Like tagging Rex! Now that would be a bad move.

JA intends on bringing Rex back
I agree with you on that DaBearSox. Kyle seems to be a bit more careful with the ball and a bit more elllusive (though not by much). I'd like it if we did resign Rex, but IMdO, there's going to be alot of money moving out there to entice him. And I don't see JA breaking the bank to keep Rex. But we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. This offseason is going to be big in determining whether or not we are competitive next year.

The end of Lance Briggs?
Think you're right about Briggs. Rosenhaus is going to get some team to pony up big $ and the Bears will say thanks, but no thanks.

14th pick
What they do at QB is going to depend on Rex. If JA can sign him at a reasonable cost, I'd say that Griese is gone and they draft someone on day two. Then again, I don't think they can get Rex on the cheap, and some team is going to offer him a deal that he won't turn down. The we probably keep Griese and look for a QB day one of the draft.

Lovie says in his press conference
Pretty good summary of the reasons why they'll bring Turner back. All those excuses allow everyone to cover their butts and hopefully move on to improving the team through new assistant coaches and a shot of new talent on the field.

Winds of Change blowin' at Halas Hall
Kind of like adjusting the mound or the level of the foul lines in baseball. That could insure we'd at least win 8 games a season! Oh, and we could turn them off when we had the ball, unless it was for a long FG attempt!

Winds of Change blowin' at Halas Hall
We'd played only one game out of 16 that had swirling winds. So I agree, we need to develop the passing attack and then pound the ball after we have the lead. We were very successful early last season when Rex was delivering to Berrian with the long ball. For me, it will begin with the Oline. Gotta have the protection first, then everything else falls into place.

Winds of Change blowin' at Halas Hall
I agree with you, you need to improve the WR talent and utilize Hester and Olsen more. Not too surprisingly, while listening to the game yesterday, Jeff Joniak said toward the end of the gme that the total number of passes thrown by the Bears this season ranked third all time for in team history. So I think that, in large part, Lovie is dreaming and pandering to the old scholl when he says 'get off the bus running'. I do think Ron can do a much better job of utilizing talent--Hester, Bradley, Olsen, giving Hass a look-see- than he's done. But we are moving into the 21st century football wise. And a solid OLine is going to make a big difference in the final score of games. Just look what Orton could do when he had time to find receivers.

Player of the year
Sorry, I should have added ?The Bears' MVP.'

Draft Position
You're right ConnorBear. That sucks. And NO even picks ahead of us. Damn the SOS!
-
Mike Martz for OC?
I think that JA and Lovie will look at the dismal play by the OLine and he'll be back. Now, the offensive line coach may get the boot to reinforce their decision.
-
Player of the year
Any doubt? DEVIN!!!! See you next season Hester. Have a safe offseason, and learn how to block as a WR!
-
Mike Martz for OC?
After today's effort, I'd say that Turner probably saved his job. That means we're probably going to have alot to talk about throughout the season next year.
