Looks like we’ve added Ted Ginn jnr. Thought we were set at WR.
-
It wouldn’t surprised me we only receive 2 x 6th round picks because if any team gets stiffed by rule decisions in the NFL it’s the Bears.

If the Bears are in the win now mode the SS that stands out from all players available and to be honest with most players unsigned is Eric Reid. I understand people’s reservations, he is out spoken and currently is challenging the union on the CBA that was signed. Also not standing for the national anthem isn’t something that makes many people comfortable with him because it feels he is disrespecting the flag and the armed forces that have sacrificed a lot for the general population. I do think it needs to be said unless my knowledge is wrong, Reid hasn’t got any baggage the fans would be uncomfortable with such as domestic abuse, criminal activity etc. He may be a good person and contributes to his local communities. Do the Bears have a locker room that is strong else to manage him being out spoken. i haven’t really looked at the Cowboy’s safeties but if they could be improved there with Reid it seems strange they haven’t signed him because they will sign anyone as evidenced with the signings of Smith and Gregory.

I think it’s time for Bush to step up at strong safety because there are players left in free agency with significantly more defensive snaps. As you can see below his defensive snaps have been low and his base salary is $1,262,500 which seems a lot of money for a special teamer Defense Special Solo Assist Sacks Yards TFL QB Hits Pass Def. Texans have released Tashaun Gipson. Should Pace be interested in him. Was a highly sought safety when the Texans signed

Can someone explain what the Bears are doing wrong with getting compensatory picks. Is it purely down the the team drafting poorly or do we do something wrong in free agency that affects us getting picks. Is it we waive players early instead of waiting for them to hit free agency and sign with another team. If I was the owner this would be an area that I would try to manipulate. I may be wrong but teams like the Patriots, Raven’s and Steelers always seem to gain extra picks.

What is the history of not picking up the 5th year and then the player lights up the league. How do QB’s generally take a team not picking up the 5th year option. This is the most important position on the team and at a position the Bears have never go right. I would have more faith in picking up Mitch’s 5th year than Floyd’s last year This will be his 3rd year in a system that is overall reliant on tight ends which was a weakness last year. How culpable was Mitch for the offense last year considering the oline was across the board poor, the tight ends were worse and we got rid of our best running back. Also Nagy or Mitch for some reason hardly ran the ball or move the pocket.
-
I looked at over the cap the other day and the Bears are stuck between a rock and a hard place due to money that has been set aside for a poor oline. We can’t move on from Leno or Massie this year. Unsure Whitehair is worth the contract and need to see way more from Daniels who seemed to be rated highly. Taking all of this into account there no way we bring in a free agent guard our only route is through the draft If we can’t get adequate play from the oline I can’t see Mitch developing and the run game will be suspect again. I have been a Pace supporter but the money spent on contracts for this line is shocking. The only blessing is Kyle retired but he would have been moved on from because he wasn’t going to be a big cap hit.

I’m biased about this. Means I will be able to watch this game. The game against the Bucs was on my birthday in 2011. I can’t believe that was just over 7 years ago. Would love to get to a game at Soldier Field but with tickets it would cost around £2000 for me and the wife. Can’t see me persuading her with this because I could get 2 to 3 weeks all inclusive in Europe.

Looks like we’ve been shafted by the 49ers who haven’t turned up to play. I would try try for Trubisky to score a touchdown and get the score to 20-3 and play the 1st D for the 3rd qtr and then sit Mack and Hicks. If if we have a lead in the 4th around 10 pts I would start playing 2nd teamers across the board. Pissed off with how the 49ers are playing.

I can’t get the tribunes article in Europe due to GDRP (data protection law). Can anyone take a screen shot of the tribune article and post it

When I stated expensive I meant where he was drafted. I thought he was a 2nd round pick but he was drafted in the 3rd round. I expected him to win the end position opposite Hicks although it looks like we play in nickel a lot with 2 DL, 4 LB’s and 5DB’s unless I’m mistaken. That would drop his potential playing time I suppose.

What has happened to Bullard is he injured or looking like an expensive bust

I agree Mitch didn’t have a good game but on the Bellamy and Miller ints the player who touched the ball first was the Bear and then the defender came down with the ball. I thought the receiver once they had the could have fought better and at the least caused the pass to be an incompletion. Can’t understand why White isn’t being given the opportunity. I know Nagy stated Bellamy knows the play book better but he can’t catch a cold. -

Can’t understand the decision to play Mack. It would be better for him to rest the ankle than play hurt. Special teams lost this today. I know Mitch threw some bad throws but Bellamy and Miller could have fought more on the ints. Suprised that White wasn’t used more when Robinson went out. He had 2 good catches and I would rather have him on the field than Bellamy. -

Lucky to get out of first half 7 points down. Oline need to keep Mitchell clean and no pass rush at all even before Mack hurt his ankle. Looks like the bye week hasn’t been good to us again. Hope Nagy and Fangio make the necessary changes so we win this game. -
As per NFL.COM looks like the hold out is dismally over. Hallelujah hopefully we get to see him in pressing game 4 before the season start. Don’t think we will see him in game 5.
-
I know this isn’t the soft tissue injury that he had with us that caused him to miss time that could have been attributed to him not being in football shape but as per NFL.COM he hasn't recovered from his shoulder surgery. Still glad we decided to move on from him.
-
With Trevathan not losing guaranteed money last year I can’t see why Smith can’t see that the Bears will do the right thing such as what they did with Miller (TE) giving him a 1 year contract It seems that Smith and his agents are also wanting protection if Smith is disciplined for other non football matters and I would be really disappointed if they concede to this. I would rather the Bears maintain their position even if he never signs for the Bears and we lose the player at the cost of the 1st round pick.
-
I like Fangio but if he interviews for the Packers I don’t care if there franchise is in a better place he is showing zero loyalty to the Bears and the players he has worked with. If he interviews with the Packers I ask Ed Donatell to be our defensive coordinator so preventing Fangio from poaching him.

This game was a microcosm of our season. We had a rookie QB who needed game experience and along the way there will be ups and downs. I thought Trubisky played well and although the interceptions hurt us you can clearly see he has the physical and mental tools to play the position. Whether he justifies the draft position only time will tell. I listened to Bill Polian on Waddle and Silvy’s podcast this week and he feels the media and fans expectations for Trubisky are crazy but felt he has done well and should be significantly better next year. Injuries are killing us. I don’t know if it’s the Bears or a league wide problem caused by the collective bargaining policy meaning the players train differently now. It might be our roster isn’t in a position to absorb these injuries and this may be an experience issue more than a talent problem due to the roster being so young. I still am unsure if a different coaching staff would have made much of a difference this year and I hope that Pace know what he is doing because he needs to sit down evaluate everything before deciding what needs to be done. We shouldn’t just move on from Fox this is what the media and fans are crying out for this needs to be a rational informed choice because changing coaches could have a major impact on our roster and offensive and defensive schemes.

At the end of the day whether Pace overpaid or not if Trubisky is a stud then it doesn’t matter. I suppose we could have drafted Solomon Thomas or traded down to get picks but if Pace’s judgement was Trubisky is a stud I would have an potential all pro QB over a DE. Maybe we could have had both taking a QB this year at the top of the draft but if Trubisky pans out we a closer to being competitive having him play this year. The crux of the matter is going to be the next 3 games especially Detroit and Minnesota. If he performs in those games and we win out the confidence that will have been built can’t be understated. If we are perceived as being an up and coming team the top free agents will want to come here. If we win out it wouldn’t surprise me if Fox is back next year considering the brutal schedule we have had especially at the start of the season as well as the injuries we have suffered. Look at our wide receivers and linebackers this year. If Meredith, White, Wright, Bellamy and if we would have still picked up Inman I think this unit would have been good and if we would have had Young, Floyd, Trevathan and Freeman playing all year with McPhee playing a bit part role this would have meant the Bears would be been considerably more competive. Other than big questions with White and Freeman if we have these players back and the team has less injuries with Trubisky’s development we could see the start of something special. I suppose I’m a glass half full guy so I like to be positive we’ll at least not on a Sunday over the past 5 years..

If we win out at the end of the season and end up 7-9 isn’t that better for the team next year. There is nothing like building confidence and surely having a team ascending upwards will attract the better free agents. If Trubisky has actually turned the corner and is starting to read defense better wouldn’t players recognise that and want to come to us. To build a sustainable winning culture it needs to be done via the draft but if Pace picks a good player whatever the position does it really matter if it’s the 6th or 16th pick. Picking high hasn’t helped the Browns and picking low hasn’t exactly crippled the Patriots. When you have a high level free agent with multiple teams wanting him and willing to pay a similar salary it will then come down to the ability to be successful i.e. winning. The player I would like to target this year is Davante Adams. I wonder if Green Bay will pay him this year and I think he could be a no. 1 receiver. Does anyone else agree?
