Maybe Trestman hasn't been able to make this decision until now. That pass to Wilson when he got injured was a great throw and route.

This is how this offense should be run. Looks like you have to totally buy in and Cutler hasn't. I hope whoever decides what direction we go in next year will look at the whole season objectively because Consideration needs to be taken into whether Cutler has Disabled this offense all year.

I have always been a Cutler fan. This offense requires mechanics especially foot work. The choice is either run an offense that doesn't great mechanics and keep Cutler or trade him and dare I say give Trestman the chance of working with a QB he feels he can work with. The whole team look like they are putting an effort in for Trestman enjoying this game although I would like to lose the next 2 games and get a better draft pick. That would be good and Detriot knocking Green Bay out of the playoffs if that is possible.
  4. Looking at various articles Jay was diagnosed just before his 25th birthday in 2008 the year he went to the pro bowl. Being traded to the Bears in 2009 there is obviously a chance that diabetes has affected his performance. I am a social worker and have good working knowledge of how debilitating this disease can be. It can cause serious vision problems, confusion and tremors which are symptoms that could easily affect a QB ability to play at a high level.. Although Jay can sometimes be considered petulant and aloof at times he would never use his condition as an excuse for his play.
  5. With the media furore and the fans venting their frustration I hope whoever makes the decisions after the season is over does it rationally and without emotion. The first thing that should be considered is do we want to go through a Chicago Cubs rebuild i.e. Get rid of Emery, Trestman, coaches and playing staff because if they clean house from top to bottom then whoever comes in will change the players. Whether a rebuild is or isn't required should be determined with the following observations: 1. What affect they last 2 seasons can be attributed to Angelo's drafting. If you look at Greenbay the majority of their roster is built from drafting. This gives you more options for building a roster and not have free agents come in like Peppers and cripple your franchise. Also we may have drafted a QB and not needed to give Denver those no. 1's for Cutler 2. Can Emery and the player evaluation team start drafting players that are comparable with Green Bay. 3. Is Trestman able to keep the players, coaching staff bought in that he is able to lead men. The trouble currently seems that he is giving them ownership of themselves hoping they can make the right decisions that are required to help the Bears achieve their goals. Is this philosophy naive and do they need greater direction. 4. How much influence has Lovie's players like Briggs, Peppers etc. had in the past 2 seasons an in someways sabotaged the new regime. 5. Can we win with or without Cutler. Is it possible to take the poor decision making made by Cutler by really running the ball more. Is the oline good enough because I feel the biggest weak link in the line is at Center. If you protect from the inside out then surely the Center is the most important position. What are our options if we choose to cut or trade Cutler. Howdoes his salary cripple this team. I have used Green Bay to judge ourselves by because they seem to be doing things the right way and until we can complete and beat them we are going nowhere.
  6. The thing that really annoyed me in the last couples of games is why didn't they push Wooten back outside and played Peppers, Ratliffle, Paea and Wooten then in obvious passing downs playing Wooten inside and fresh Shea coming on the pitch. We would have been stronger against the run surely having 2 bigger tackles on the field on run downs. I know Wooten played fairly well at the 3 technique but isn't he a better DE.
  7. Proud of team at the end of a tough season. Played their heart out and I agree poor coverage at the end but it is what it is we didn't deserve to go forward. I think Emery will create a better defense next year. We were in it for the division with 2 mins to go so that as to be an improvement this year. Go bears injuries have crippled us this year. Again proud of the effort of the team.
  8. Why do we always get stiffed by officials. Poor call
  9. What I want to see today from the offense is when Jay throws if it is anywhere near one of our receivers they fight to catch the ball or make sure the packers DB's don't catch it. Run Forte left or right and only up the middle when the packers over pursue and Forte cuts it back. On outside runs the TE's and WR's block like beasts and we don't see Britton on the field. On defense I would like Ratliffle and Paea inside and Wotten and Peppers at ends. Also the safeties to stop worrying about their bodies and just fly to the ball and hit. Go bears as said before I hate the packers, team, fans and anything to do with them.
  10. Strength of schedule will mean nothing with Sharwz calling bonehead plays and defense giving 15 yards at a throw for cheap and dirty play. At least our coaches and player show class. We can win the next 2 games and Tampa Bay are on 2 game win streak. Then the Lions play the packers on Thanksgiving so we could be in a good position going in our weekend game.
  11. It is either their bonehead coaching staff or undisciplined defense that will probably see the bears win the division. I was really disappointed last weekend but after a couple of days reflecting I can't see them sustaining a good run to win the division. If you consider our injuries against there's and our different schedules it shows a great job our coaches and players have put out so far this year.
  12. Looking objectively the Lions have the easier run in but if they continue with their dumb plays the likelihood would be the 2 wins against us won't come into play as long as Green Bay keep struggling. In hindsight we gave up an easily winnable game wear Forte should have not been stopped easily by the diving tackles of the Lions DB's and Marshall drops some catchable balls. I thought the defense played better apart from the linebackers not staying in their gaps and running to fast to the ball and being exposed to the cut back. Some hard decisions this week by Trestman but we can win the division if Green Bay keeps losing while Rodgers is out.
  13. Great play by Suh sometimes you just have to accept a good player can make something happen. Great 1st half of football.
  14. Are we some of the stupidest fans in the NFL. I started watching the NFL in 1980 when it was first shown in the UK. I loved McMahon but Cutler is hands down the best QB we have had. Some older bears fans actually state best ever. We traded for him and didn't give him an Oline, any receivers and woeful coordinators and wondered why he couldn't lead us to a superbowl. Now everything is in place for him to succeed no wonder McCown also has had a chance to succeed. There is one fact regarding Cutler if we move on from him he is going to get paid. There are numerous teams where Cutler would be taken in a heart beat. I haven't got problem with Trestman drafting a QB for the future as per Favre and Rodgers scenario in Green Bay but surely our discussions should be about how the defense can be improved next year. How our interior line can handle Suh. We have a quality starting QB and there are at least 16 teams that would cry out for one. I don't want to mortgage the team like Baltimore did with Flacco but he is going to get 15 to 20 million where ever he goes. I am hoping he feels wanted and supported by his fans and accepts closer to 15 something like 75 million over 5 years.
  15. I thought front 7 played well and improved play from front 4 but with appalling safety play the d looked terrible. Just a bit better coverage and the dline would have got to RG3. With the cheese heads being 14-3 up at the half I am really pissed tonight. Only bright spot is Lions lost. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow the Browns will have beaten Green Bay.
  16. When will Conte get benched. He played fairly well last year so sit him and let him think about what he needs to do better. Mind you not impressed with back ups either. Merriweather was bad today but at least he is in position to make a bone head play. Conte looks like he is so frightened of being beat that he bails out and then gets beat anyway. One thing you could say about Movie is that if a player flat out played badly he would get benched, I hope Mel Tucker will let players know that poor play will get punished by sitting on the bench. Disappointed that Tillman and Briggs couldn't play the last series with having 2 weeks to rest until the next game. Just having Briggs call plays and at 50% would have been better than Contazo being out there. Great call and execution on onside kick really unlucky and picky call by officials.
  17. One of the biggest problems with this defense is the money Peppers is making. If you then stack is up with what Briggs, Melton, Tillman and possibly Jennings are making then how can Emery improve in the short term. Would both Izzey and Brian have come back to the Bears and accepted 1 million and 2 million respectively, I don't think so and it would have been probably 3-5 million for Izzy and 5-8 for Brian. They replaced them and Roach for 3 players for about 3 million. Who would have guessed Peppers would look this bad and is it down to an injury that can improve after the break, lack of effort or old age. He must be seeing what the media are commenting about him looking old and there as been a history in Carolina of him playing games with no effort. Can Emery make the decision to cut or are with stuck with the contract that was made to bring him here and I can state that I was ecstatic that day. Does he retire this year and if so does that tHe US out of the cap hole. If he was cut now can do they save any money this year to be able to bring in a decent D tackle via trade. If not this is the defense we have this year and hopefully the Offense can carry us to the playoffs. Regarding Forte up the middle why don't they try Bush and Forte with TE Bennett and Marshall and Jeffrey WR on first down. This would give the option of Forte off tackle or a pitch play, Bush up the middle and if it was a play overloaded to the run then audible to a pass play with Bush pass protecting and Forte out in the flat with a linebacker covering. With Bush up the middle couldn't Bennett lead block?
  18. Should Wotten be moved back to DE and look to play 2 bigger bodies. With Peppars looking old and slow would he be more effective at his size than Wotten. Hopefully Paea will be back and I would look at Wooten Paea Peppers Washington/ McCellan. We can't keep playing small bodies inside.
  19. Isn't Okoye still available he was not that bad and seemed to have plenty of tread on his tyres. Other than that do they restructure some deals and make a trade with a team like Seattle who seem to have plenty of depth.
  20. First and foremost we can't start the game by dropping an halfback toss. going into the game the emphasis has got to be keep the Saints offense off the field. Forte was poor on the 3rd down play juggling the ball when a clean catch could have gained the first down. Formation on offense in first half was shocking although adjusted well at halftime. Hopefully go into the break at 4-2 and beat the cheese heads after the bye when Tillman and Paea have tested from injuries.
  21. I know there h 've been concerns with our Dline but Conte and Wright are useless.
  22. Good push at the start shame Forte was not aware on his 1st and 3rd touch.
  23. Hope Collins plays better and does Wotten play 3 technique
  24. Listening to espn 1000 and Carmen and Jurko stated that to make the playoffs we will probably need to go 11-5. Therefore we can afford only another 4 loses. Hopefully we can learn from this debacle or should I say Cutler. Looking past his play I thought Oline was OK, receivers dropped some balls, run Forte outside of the tackles but the biggest worry is dline needs improvement. I though DT's were poor and I thought Paea and Collins would have been solid.
  25. I am a Cutler fan but today he has been pathetic. We were in control at the start of the game and his bonehead plays have cost us the game and it was a big one today. The Oline play has been fine but Cutler has either overthrown or under thrown the receivers. Also he has been looking at his receivers and giving the defensive backs the nod on where he is going.
