  1. Come the regular season if Webb is the starting RT then you will have been vindicated to a certain degree however if Scott, Vladimir or Mills start then it will be apparent he is not enough at either tackle spot regardless of being put on an island, given whatever help and better quality coaching. Mind you as I have stated previously if someone has better at centre then the majority of our oline concerns will be sorted. in our division we face Raji, Su and the Minnesota tackles get a centre who can provide a bit of a push and then we can dominate the division.
  2. This debate between Bushrod and Webb is getting a little tedious now. The bears have made a decision LT was a weakness and they wanted to go in another direction. Webb will have his chance in the scheme that Bushrod had in New Orleans so maybe he makes the pro bowl this year. Like I have said previously I am concerned that Garza is in the backfield as much as forte and if we are protecting inside out then I like the look of the guard options but give us a centre that can hold his own. Final comment on Bushrod V Webb l feel Bushrod is mentally stronger better prepared. I get the feeling with Webb he is a little spaced at times and this could be the occasion becomes a bit big for him or maybe he does like a smoke.
  3. I hope Carimi's poor play was due to rehab from injury and loss of weight and power. His solid bench press at the combine shows he should have power if he is fit. I also am concerned with Garza play always pushed back into Cutler and if he is the leader then I would expect him to handle his assignment. Is it difficult for a guard to play centre and wondered if any of the other players could fill this role. I am really excited to see what Kroner does with this line. I would like to see Brown, Carimi, Webb prove they can make the Oline pool. Bushrod, Long,Mills and Slauson however how many do we keep on the roster and can any play centre.
  4. Videos show both players have considerably better foot speed the Urlacher and Roach. So I think we will be better. If Urlacher is not picked up is there any chance of him coming back at 1 year 2million or are we set and only looking to the future now at linebacker in the draft or undrafted free agents.
  5. Also to take into account is recovering from the knee injury. I have seen a lot of statements that have assumed that Carimi's poor play could have been attributed to recovering from injury, not being able to train in the weight room and losing weight. His bench press at the combine indicated he has strength although poor technique could negate that. I think this will be an interesting training camp for Carimi especially with Kromer working him although Tice was supposed to be a great line coach.
  6. Not worth 4 million average player at best. I liked what James Brown did in the last 3 games and if Carimi knee is fully healed and he hits the gym and comes back strong Kromer might perform wonders although an upgrade at centre is needed due to others consistently being pushed around.
  7. I have no concerns if Trestmen is the QB and offensive guru everyone states then he will have a plan and we probably won't overspend on a backup that was poor when asked to perform whether it was against the 49ers or not.
  8. 99% linebackers are a dime a dozen are you kidding me. Do the 49ers think linebackers is an unimportant position and the bears at there best had 2 top linebackers. Cap space always causes tough decisions and if all goes well we may have the best 3 we have had in years. I always wondered what it would be like to have 3 quality athletes after having triers like Hilenmeyer and Roach making up the numbers.
  9. If Stelz and Zbikowski are the same quality then we should be signing neither. UNTIL HARDIN WAS INJURED I HOPED STELZ WOULD GET CUT LAST SUMMER. I would be looking at signing cheap free agents to be improvements on what we have now. For instance can we pick up guards to get rid of Spenser and Ed Williams at the same or a cheaper salary.
  10. Is Craig Stelz still on the roster. Would Zbikowski be an upgrade I must admit I have never been impressed with Stelz he looks nothing more than a trier and does anyone know the salary difference if Stelz is on the roster. On a different subject it seems to have gone quiet on restructuring players like Peppers and Tillman.
  11. The biggest difference I see with Bushrod V Webb is Bushrod is on his feet and Webb is on his arse or back more often than not. I would consider Webb as soft when the going is tough I.e. v SF this year he looked spaced as if he could not comprehend what was happening and how he could stop himself having an arse whipping.
  12. I was watching the Nfl division round game 2011 same game?
  13. I have busted watched the same game nfl divisional playoff game on farmlands in HD. The you tube game is poor quality and is difficult to analyse the plays. 1st drive Brees is not touched and drives down inside SF 10 and throws an interception. 2nd drive Brees still not touched and throws interception which is returned for a rd 14-0 to SF. 3rd drive fumble KO fumble which leads to SF fg. 17-0. SF. 4th drive Brees still not touched and throws TD 17-7. 5th drive Brees still not touched throws TD 17-14 and Brees is 21-25-2-1. 6th drive Brees not touched throws interception and ends half 22-28-2-2 Now Bushrod held is own with limited help and although at times looked to be beaten fought until Brees got rid of the ball sometimes after 5 second. I have not seen a bears LT not be on their as when no help as been given by a tight end or back in at least 3 seasons. I feel Bushrod will be a steal when all is said and done.
  14. I am watching the Saints v Giants 2012. Bushrod is beast in run and pass blocking. On runs he has great foot speed and in pass blocking the only time Pierre Paul or Umenyora have gotten any pressure is Umenyora bull rushed him and had the advantage but Bushrod fought back and Brees was not touched. Webb would have been on his arse and Cutler being carried off. Only watched to halftime so far but left tackle will not be a concern next year on this performance. I remember last time we played giants Webb was killed. As a foot note Bennett was run blocking well and caught a TD and ran a good route.
  15. The easiest thing the OC can do is make sure the play reaches Jay before you need to use a time out. We would have been able to stop the clock and have probably over 2 mins at the end of the Game. Why can Jay have a no. of plays with down and distance that if I don't receive a play by X seconds I can choose a play.
  16. Looking at the game I only can only remember Bush in on 1 snap a 6 yard run with power. Lovie didn't mention Bush in the injury report today and Allen was in on at least 2 snaps.
  17. If he is available would anyone take Mark Barron. I get to hardly see college games so therefore don't know if he would upgrade our secondary. Quite a lot of recent mocks put him being pick between 20 and 30 so therefore would anyone take him at pick 19.
  18. Has anyone got any ideas why Tommie looks such an average player. I see effort but is that enough. Pulling him from the starting lineup has had no effect at all, has i thought this move would fire him up to reproduce his playing to a probowl level or is it our scheme. Or should he be cut to release money for offensive line
  19. Why not sign Pace if StClair wants to sign sign him. Then ideal situation Williams is a stud LT Pace to RT and StClair LG and if worst case Williams isn't a quality LT, put Pace there let Williams and StClair battle for RT if Williams is the better option then StClair at LG because at the moment I see holes at LT RT and LG.Probably line sorted then for 2 yrs Then draft WR in the 1st and FS in 2nd then OLine depth priority after that.
  20. Surely a beat up Pace is better than our options at this present time.Bad injury 2006 played 14 games 2007,which I would say is has good has a full season. At his age I wouldn't say he's over the hill, an average player at 33 would be, but a great player at 33 you will probably get 3 very good years plus what would Williams and any other OT learn from him.Mind you all this is hyperthetical because the penny pinching way we go about free agency will mean another season of doing nothing.
  21. Associated Press ST. LOUIS -- Orlando Pace, a seven-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle dogged by injuries in recent seasons, was released by St. Louis on Tuesday. Team owner Chip Rosenbloom said in a statement that Pace, who was the first overall pick in the 1997 draft, would be remembered as "one of the finest Rams of all time." Pace, 33, started 14 games last season, but he missed half of 2007 and virtually all of 2006 due to injuries. I know He's been injured but got to be a major upgrade if he stays fit and Williams must pick something up working with him any thoughts.
  22. I have looked every where, has the NFL admitted fault with their banded substance list or is the case still pending. Because it would be a positive boost going into the season with them suspended and if so I hope we get them in the first 4 weeks any thoughts.
  23. does anyone know a site where this game is streamed i am desperate normal site not showing
  24. if any places available would be interested in participating any of the options available
