I think Shea has played really well this year but defense improved when he went off. Both inside linebackers hit harder and I think that made a difference although Charles going off injured may have also swung the game in our favour.. Would be great to hit the bye 3-3 and then get healthy especially at wide out. I thought Grasu improved as the game went on.

ESPN JUST STATED A 6TH ROUND PICK SO GOT THE PICK BACK FOR KARI LEE
-
I would TAG him and then over the remaining games this year and the games next year see how he performs. If he keeps getting injured I would let him go. As said before Brandon Marshall would have probably not missed any games. Jeffery needs to get fitter to avoid these injuries or if he is injury prone it a waste of time having a number 1 receiver who is always injured. Also if White as a big 2016-17 we may not need to spend big bucks on another receiver. Maybe we can pick up some studs on defence instead. I am hoping we can trust in Pace to start drafting players who can contribute and the quality coaching staff can turn around some of our players such as Shea that are considered as busts.

I wonder how injured Alshon is. Funny that he couldn't make it last week against Patrick Peterson and now this week against Richard Sherman. I wonder if he's suddenly available to play the Raiders in week 4. If he was shut out by Peterson and Sherman without having Marshall opposite him would he still get paid as a no. 1 receiver. I bet if it was Marshall he would have found a way to play. So do you give him big bucks next year.

I am looking forward tomorrow. I just hope our secondary is out of position like the Steelers in Game 1. Mind you getting rid of Major Wright, Chris Conte and Tim Jennings should enable us to have a marked improvement from the last 2 years. I am looking forward to us kicking the cheese heads arses. I was listening to ESPN on Friday a thought this like was amusing but it may be offensive to some people so view with discertion. Green Bay 24 Chicago Bears 31

Finally changed the DB coach. Everyone raved about Hoke but never developed a safety. Surely that is on Hoke.

Draft a RB in an area that is likely a strength when we have some many holes. Why not pick at 7 for an elite player or trade down to about 10 to 12 and then move up from our 2nd to get back into the 1st and take the MLB.

until this year I was a cutler supporter and now I'm indifferent. I would forget his play this year and ask the question can you win a game with him and history says yes. The next question is can you improve on the QB position or does getting rid of him disadvantage you. 1 can the Bears afford to use a high pick on a QB in the next 2 years and is there a QB in the draft good enough to take. 2 can the Bears improve the QB position in free agency 3 can the Bears trade Cutler without giving up draft picks and paying his salary Regarding point 1 I don't consider the Bears in. Position to draft a QB we need a RT, MLB, C , CB, FS, SS and a speedy WR. Also is their a QB that you would take in round 1 to 3. Regarding point 2 there is no free agent QB out there that will improve the Bears Regarding point 3 the only way I trade Cutler is at the least we don't give a draft pick or pay any of his salary. He is still a veteran QB and in my mind still has value.

Enjoyed game today first time in weeks I won't be pissed off all week. Good result for us regarding the draft and hopefully Detroit will beat the cheese heads. Have a good Christmas everyone on Talkbears

Maybe Trestman hasn't been able to make this decision until now. That pass to Wilson when he got injured was a great throw and route.

This is how this offense should be run. Looks like you have to totally buy in and Cutler hasn't. I hope whoever decides what direction we go in next year will look at the whole season objectively because Consideration needs to be taken into whether Cutler has Disabled this offense all year.
-
I have always been a Cutler fan. This offense requires mechanics especially foot work. The choice is either run an offense that doesn't great mechanics and keep Cutler or trade him and dare I say give Trestman the chance of working with a QB he feels he can work with. The whole team look like they are putting an effort in for Trestman enjoying this game although I would like to lose the next 2 games and get a better draft pick. That would be good and Detriot knocking Green Bay out of the playoffs if that is possible.

Looking at various articles Jay was diagnosed just before his 25th birthday in 2008 the year he went to the pro bowl. Being traded to the Bears in 2009 there is obviously a chance that diabetes has affected his performance. I am a social worker and have good working knowledge of how debilitating this disease can be. It can cause serious vision problems, confusion and tremors which are symptoms that could easily affect a QB ability to play at a high level.. Although Jay can sometimes be considered petulant and aloof at times he would never use his condition as an excuse for his play.

With the media furore and the fans venting their frustration I hope whoever makes the decisions after the season is over does it rationally and without emotion. The first thing that should be considered is do we want to go through a Chicago Cubs rebuild i.e. Get rid of Emery, Trestman, coaches and playing staff because if they clean house from top to bottom then whoever comes in will change the players. Whether a rebuild is or isn't required should be determined with the following observations: 1. What affect they last 2 seasons can be attributed to Angelo's drafting. If you look at Greenbay the majority of their roster is built from drafting. This gives you more options for building a roster and not have free agents come in like Peppers and cripple your franchise. Also we may have drafted a QB and not needed to give Denver those no. 1's for Cutler 2. Can Emery and the player evaluation team start drafting players that are comparable with Green Bay. 3. Is Trestman able to keep the players, coaching staff bought in that he is able to lead men. The trouble currently seems that he is giving them ownership of themselves hoping they can make the right decisions that are required to help the Bears achieve their goals. Is this philosophy naive and do they need greater direction. 4. How much influence has Lovie's players like Briggs, Peppers etc. had in the past 2 seasons an in someways sabotaged the new regime. 5. Can we win with or without Cutler. Is it possible to take the poor decision making made by Cutler by really running the ball more. Is the oline good enough because I feel the biggest weak link in the line is at Center. If you protect from the inside out then surely the Center is the most important position. What are our options if we choose to cut or trade Cutler. Howdoes his salary cripple this team. I have used Green Bay to judge ourselves by because they seem to be doing things the right way and until we can complete and beat them we are going nowhere.

The thing that really annoyed me in the last couples of games is why didn't they push Wooten back outside and played Peppers, Ratliffle, Paea and Wooten then in obvious passing downs playing Wooten inside and fresh Shea coming on the pitch. We would have been stronger against the run surely having 2 bigger tackles on the field on run downs. I know Wooten played fairly well at the 3 technique but isn't he a better DE.

Proud of team at the end of a tough season. Played their heart out and I agree poor coverage at the end but it is what it is we didn't deserve to go forward. I think Emery will create a better defense next year. We were in it for the division with 2 mins to go so that as to be an improvement this year. Go bears injuries have crippled us this year. Again proud of the effort of the team.

Why do we always get stiffed by officials. Poor call

What I want to see today from the offense is when Jay throws if it is anywhere near one of our receivers they fight to catch the ball or make sure the packers DB's don't catch it. Run Forte left or right and only up the middle when the packers over pursue and Forte cuts it back. On outside runs the TE's and WR's block like beasts and we don't see Britton on the field. On defense I would like Ratliffle and Paea inside and Wotten and Peppers at ends. Also the safeties to stop worrying about their bodies and just fly to the ball and hit. Go bears as said before I hate the packers, team, fans and anything to do with them.

is anyone worried about losing twice to the lions
50england50 replied to 50england50's topic in Bearstalk
Strength of schedule will mean nothing with Sharwz calling bonehead plays and defense giving 15 yards at a throw for cheap and dirty play. At least our coaches and player show class. We can win the next 2 games and Tampa Bay are on 2 game win streak. Then the Lions play the packers on Thanksgiving so we could be in a good position going in our weekend game. -
It is either their bonehead coaching staff or undisciplined defense that will probably see the bears win the division. I was really disappointed last weekend but after a couple of days reflecting I can't see them sustaining a good run to win the division. If you consider our injuries against there's and our different schedules it shows a great job our coaches and players have put out so far this year.
-
Looking objectively the Lions have the easier run in but if they continue with their dumb plays the likelihood would be the 2 wins against us won't come into play as long as Green Bay keep struggling. In hindsight we gave up an easily winnable game wear Forte should have not been stopped easily by the diving tackles of the Lions DB's and Marshall drops some catchable balls. I thought the defense played better apart from the linebackers not staying in their gaps and running to fast to the ball and being exposed to the cut back. Some hard decisions this week by Trestman but we can win the division if Green Bay keeps losing while Rodgers is out.

Great play by Suh sometimes you just have to accept a good player can make something happen. Great 1st half of football.

Are we some of the stupidest fans in the NFL. I started watching the NFL in 1980 when it was first shown in the UK. I loved McMahon but Cutler is hands down the best QB we have had. Some older bears fans actually state best ever. We traded for him and didn't give him an Oline, any receivers and woeful coordinators and wondered why he couldn't lead us to a superbowl. Now everything is in place for him to succeed no wonder McCown also has had a chance to succeed. There is one fact regarding Cutler if we move on from him he is going to get paid. There are numerous teams where Cutler would be taken in a heart beat. I haven't got problem with Trestman drafting a QB for the future as per Favre and Rodgers scenario in Green Bay but surely our discussions should be about how the defense can be improved next year. How our interior line can handle Suh. We have a quality starting QB and there are at least 16 teams that would cry out for one. I don't want to mortgage the team like Baltimore did with Flacco but he is going to get 15 to 20 million where ever he goes. I am hoping he feels wanted and supported by his fans and accepts closer to 15 something like 75 million over 5 years.

I thought front 7 played well and improved play from front 4 but with appalling safety play the d looked terrible. Just a bit better coverage and the dline would have got to RG3. With the cheese heads being 14-3 up at the half I am really pissed tonight. Only bright spot is Lions lost. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow the Browns will have beaten Green Bay.
