  1. Carter seems to be more liked than Thomas as far as playing time. Jenkins changes everything if permanently at RG. I think Robinson will just be a situational Pass rusher. Don't think he would last if went to practice squad. The online seems to be coming along. Potentially Jenkins and Boom as backups would make the line stronger as a group. What they do with Mustifer will be interesting when Patrick comes back.
  2. Starters from this years class, B Jones, Brisker, Gordon, Gill, . Major contributors : V. Jones, Ebner, Robinson Potential future starters, Kramer, J. Carter, . Everyone will make roster or practice squad. UDFA that could make roster. Jack Sanborn and Chase Allen. This could turn out to be one of the best ever draft classes.

Brandon Thorn is a OL guru, rarely ever wrong. Praise is a good thing.
  4. I have two leagues set for the 5 th and 6 th, so the schedule seems to be working out for me.
  5. My biggest concern was with the DTs out of all positions. Jones, Tonga, Blackson will make the roster. That leaves one spot open. It will between Coley and Pennel, imo. This isn't A great group but I think they will be solid. I don't think we will be great with our run defense, but it could be good enough with our strengths at DE and speed LBs moving to the ball. DEs are a strength , Quinn, Gipson and Q Muhammad will be stout. Edwards is here, so he probably is the 4th play in. Robinson may force them to keep 5 which seems likely. Defense is going to surprise the League, with its chemistry and up tick in TOs.
  6. You cant get overly excited about preseason games, but a lot of young players showed some game. It seems the defense has an energy about them. The 7 to the ball and constant fight shows. Flus has changed defenses where ever he coached, and I think his mentality translates this defense into being very good. Brisker is a future all pro. I have no doubt about that. I was one of the bigger bitchers because of our first 2 picks, but both seem to be blue chip players. If you look at all the young players and Poles appears to be able to recognize talent. Coley was a two yr starter in Cleve when he first came in the league and has some game. We have a lot of competition on the field and it can only be a positive with our depth.
  7. I think Ebner put himself in line for more touches but I don't think he took over second place just yet. Sharpe will end up being our #3 WR , Newsome had some highlights to. Sanborn won't be starting unless Roquan holds out but definitely will get more playing time. Their not trading Quinn , Robinson has a long way to go , but makes the roster.Flus likes fresh players and will do alot of rotating . Coley has some game , definitely becomes a rotation player. Oline has lots of competition and potential. Jenkins wasn't bad and Braxton will end up starting . I liked the play calling , Getsy mixed the plays well. Everything didn't work but seemed to fine a rhythm to it.
  8. Players I noticed. B. Jones, Ebner, Sharpe, Sanborn, Coley, Jenkins played decent .

I watched every play Jenkins played and he played well. Braxton looks good already. If he ends up starting, he was quite the 5th round pick.
  10. As with any young player you look for progress. He will make mistakes and not look good but we will see more and more positive plays going forward. He fits the successful QB mode for the NFL. Great physically, mentally tough, hard worker, desire to be great. He is going to be a star. He has a Michael Jordon attitude but in football. He wants to be great. Nagy screwed everything up last year that made Fields not progress, now we have coaches that teach. That is why I think our team will win more than other people expect. He will actually step up and win some games for us. He will make other players better. As bad as the OL projection looked bad, it appears to be starting to show progress. The injures beside the WR has enough talent to help Fields do well. Mooney is going to be a star, his stats will show that. We added height and speed in the WR room and it will show. We will push the running game to start and the defense will be good and by the end of the year great. Provided Smith gets in camp.
  11. That was the reference to Ground Hog Day, the tag was when he does decide to play we can use the tag so we actually still have two yrs of service from him whether he feels respected or not.
  12. The Bears are in the drivers seat. 1) they can start fining him. 2) If he doesn't play it becomes ground hog day. 3) After the year he plays they can tag him. Top 5-17 mil a yr. I heard they offered him 95 mil, but the the structure backs loads a lot , he may never see it. Smith says he's disrespected because they won't pay him the highest contract. If he wants to play, he has to budge.
  13. The stumbling block in these negotiations is Smith wants to be the highest paid ILB. He was wants to do it for the LB group, in other words to keep setting the standard for more money. I want him playing here,, but he doesn't deserved to be the highest paid. If Poles gives in, every contract from here out will never be fair contracts but hold outs. His stats puts him in top 5 but he should make more than Warner but not Leonard. That would be between 21 and 33 mil guaranteed. Offer 30 mil and 93 mil total . It stays under the Leonard contract and is fair to Smith. They both save face. I doubt Smith agrees with that. What team is going to trade a 1st round pick and then pay the biggest ILB contract, no one. I'm on Poles side of this argument.
  14. I'll try to find it on YouTube and repost it.thanks

  16. Roquan Smith just got taken off of the PUP list, somethings happening. 3:33 pm
  17. If Fields takes a step forward, no way we are a bottom feeder in 2022.
  18. I would say the Bears defense was on the field more often because of bad offenses. The one key for me is forced fumbles. One compared to `17. Now i will say because the Bears were easy to run on so the PDs and Int would be affected but forced fumbles are related to just hitting and effective tackling.
  19. Run him out of the slot. He's about the same size as V. Jones. They will be running a lot of 12 sets, (2 TEs) and using a FB so they can get by with limited WRs.
  20. Its just a negotiating tactic. If they didnt get together, his only option is to play. He would lose this yr if not on the field. and then go free agency. He wants to be the highest paid ILB. I dont want him gone but a top 5 LB , he's not the best. Leonard has 15 sacks, 26 PD, 11 int and 17 forced fumbles. Roquan has 14 sacks, 16 PD, 5 int, and 1 FF. I can see why Poles would not want to pay him the same as Leonard.
  21. Actually if he doesn't play this year, he doesn't get credit for the year. It starts over again next year, and he doesn't get paid. No wins for Roquan.
  22. Nelson already was drafted before our pick.
  23. Poles pretty well gets pounded every time he does something. I will let this play out. People complained when he didnt spend big money on FA OL, brought in Reiff and Schofield. Didnt sign any high profile WRs, signed Harry ( first round pick) on a minimum with potential. I remember Pace throwing money away with fat contracts, I will give Poles the benefit of doubt and wait. Not having an agent was problematic from the beginning. I remember Smith holding out on his rookie deal over something minor. The Bears hold the upper hand anyway you look at it, so he will be playing here this year with or without a contract. You think Smith will play like crap, screws up all negotiations going forward? Not going to happen.
  24. With have all these national writers predicting doom on the Bears. I think they forgot what we had, they base their opinion on what we added. Mooney, Kmet, Montgomery, and Fields. All of them will be taking steps forward. We have added to the line. Jones-Reiff, Whitehair- Mustifer-Patrick, Schofield-Jenkins, and Borom-Reiff. We only need one of the FAs to step forward, EQB-Pringle-Moore-Pettis-Sharpe. We have added a couple of playmakers in Jones and Ebner through the draft. Herbert and Evans has some game. Griffin and O'Shaughnessy are upgrades. Also a FB. The offense will be fine as they grow together.
  25. I have forgot to list Heavy.com input, someone on here introduced me to that site and they have had some good reading also.
