Someone always drops in the draft , 39 is a perfect spot to find a possible trade back. The fact many teams (13) having multi picks in middle rounds enhances that . The trick is to move back and still get the guy you wanted. I think a couple years ago Ourlads had 26 out of the top 32 picks. Not to correct team but were in the first round. We need out of this draft a starting OG, A future OT prospect than can be our swing T. A rotational DT, CB and SS that contribute. A starting WR and another WR to add depth. The first 5 picks need to be starters or potential starters in year 2. Core players. Last year KC got 3 starters out of 6 picks with no first rounder. Creed Humphrey, Nick Bolton and Trey Smith.

He definitely will trade back , it depends on how his board falls. If he only drops back a fee spots , he could still end up with who he wanted. I think Watson never makes it to 39, one of the top 6_ could fall or Pickers and Pierce should be there. They have taken visits or met with , WRs that would be later picks. Thornton, Grey, Shakir, , Dixon, Nailor. .So one of the second round picks will be a WR , the other a OL. Last year KC got starting OL in the 2 nd and 6 th rounds.I suspect something similar this year. As he aquires other picks , he will address CB, SS, and DL. Maybe another LB or TE. He's not done in FAgency. He has to get a #1 WR and another starter on the OL , odds are good that's early.

Ebus defense doesn't use press one on one CBs. They play zone most of the time . You need a CB that can quickly diagnose plays and speed to run to contact. They will add a Vet CB like Rhodes before the season starts. With limited picks you can't prioritize defensive players in the early picks. We have blue chip players at each level of the defense and most of the better players he brought in are on defense. They have to fix the oline and add playmakers. This is an opportunity to get a #1 WR and hard to find in 5th round. I think Mooney and Pringle are both good players but a big speed WR, Watson or Pierce will do wonders to upgrade our offense. If any defensive position gets drafted early it has to be a 3T.

Most mock draft simulators aren't realistic. Rainman probably wouldn't be there at39 let alone 55. Pierce is about right but Moore will be picked before Pierce.. Slayer has been drafted in the 3rd many times never drip that much.

I would love if everyone they picked up played well. Most are one or two yr deals so adding 2 potential starters that may only play 40 or 50% of the time now could be starters in 2 yrs. Injuries happen so we are looking at this like everyone stays healthy, we know it won't work out that way. So as you improve the roster it improves the depth which will come into play. Poles will draft 1 or 2 OLs this year. Right now we have a RG spot open but that may change. I think they still bring in a few more FAs in so they don't have to have to count on the rookies. If those players are better that just improves the depth. Best 5 play. I think Jenkins becomes a stud where ever he plays , im not sure what Borom is. We seem to be in the same thought process.

There are many WRs valued in the 30 to 50 range of the draft. So grabbing one there would not necessarily be a reach if they took one or two. Not that I'm saying all of these big boards by so called experts are accurate but it's a guide to estimate value. Some players may be good day1 and some need time to develop. If we grab two WRs We have a better chance of one being good right away. Several WRs played well last yr as rookies.

I guess I'm saying, I don't think that will happen. Also Frank Clark is still there.

Tyler may end up being very good but I'm not sure he's ready to start day one. Read a lot of draft profiles about him and technique needs a lot of work. Usually LTs that start day one are techno sound and just need strength and more power to work on. I don't think they will expect a high draft pick to start right away. They will bring in a Brown or Fisher. Inside OL would be possibly to find a starter, their on an island and can give a player help.

I could be way off base with this thought, but Poles said he needed playmakers and a better OL for Fields to get better. Patrick is an upgrade over Mustifer and Pringle will be a good player but he's not close to working that out. I think he will load up on OL and WRs in the draft , maybe a TE. He may get lucky and find a Mooney in the 5th but the first 3 picks will be offense. Yes we need CBs, Ss, DL and LBers but his main pickups in FA have been on defense. I think he will fill spots with FAs on defense and top heavy on offense. I don't think he will risk later round picks to improve the offense. The first 3 will be offense, not sure why people keep thinking he's going to address the defense early. I can see him getting a Rainman/OT if he makes it to our pick or a Tyler Smith with the first pick, then probably 2 WRs with 48 and 71. He will try to move back with one or two of those picks so he can get extra picks to then add defensive players. I can see 2 WRs and 2 OL being drafted and maybe a TE.

They only got a 2 and 6 next year for Mack. Quinn had a great yr but will not get more draft capital than Mack brought. I would say maybe a 3rd and 4th .

They think Jones is their 3T, where they draft one will speak a lot as to their faith in him. They left the door open for Ogunjobi to come back as a possible one yr deal giving him time to let the foot heal. Being he hasn't been signed by anyone states he's not healed yet. So a small chance he may be back. As much as I understand the BPA type pick and that DT is very important in the 4-3 but a defensive player early is not going to make the defense great . So I think Offense will be drafted early and often. How is Fields going to grow unless you give him playmakers and better OL. I think the first 3 are all offensive picks.
-
I think unless we get a DT in the second round, I doubt he would start day one . We signed Justin Jones to a two year contract so they expect him to be the starter. I think the first two picks will be OL and WR. At 71 DeMarvin Leaf could still be there but doubt he would be anything more than a rotation player in his first year. May eventually be good but not day one. Somewhere there may be drafted a Blair Nichols or Akim Hicks but there usually are not dynamic as a rookie. The top 4 are Davis, Wyatt, Winfrey and Travis Jones, they are ranked in the top 50 , don't think they make it to pick 48. Mathis and Leaf are next. They both may make it to 71. If Wyatt or Winfrey are there at 39, I still think we draft a Tyler Smith or George Pickens before them. One I like that is a DE that can play inside is Logan Hall who could be there at 71. I actually think he would be good enough to eventually be the starter but I think any of them need a yr of physical development at the NFL level before they shine.

You actually may be on to something. I was looking at KC websites and one of their needs listed are Edge rusher. They have to replace Hill, Kelce is 33. They lost everyone in free agency but Frank Clark. Need to replace two spots on DL. They have 8 picks in the first 4 rounds. Of course they draft one but if they need to load up for a shot this year, they may try to trade for one. They could give a 3 and 4 and still have 6 picks. They have to replace Matheu , they me think A better pass rush will compensate for his lost. The Poles connection. We have Gipson and Q M. They go for it and we start fresh. Also Ogunjobi has not signed, they could still bring him back at 3T which is more important to the D anyways. This is very possible.
-
All of that makes sense but the key will be can they absorb Quinn's contract (53 mil over the next 3 yrs) They are stuck with a Frank Clark ( big contract) not producing. Do they really want 2 of those on the books? 10 sacks in the last 2 yrs.

Lately we have had O'shaughnessy visit, DeAndre Carter/WR ( signed elsewhere), Anthony Hichens/LB. I think they make a push to add a few more FAs before the draft in a couple of weeks. I don't think they want to be position dependent when they go to draft. I suspect we can get 3 starters out of the draft, if lucky 4. WR, OL, SAM LB, CB, and SS.If we draft a DE or DT early, they will only end up being Rotational players. A high CB or SS could start. Possibly mid round LB. Ideally WR, OG, SS, SAM LB. CB would probably need most of the season before occupying a starter role. I think he brings in a Xaiver Rhodes type of FA that will start. I think if we trade back and get an extra 3rd that could grab a Nick Cross /SS.
-
With you on that.
-
If the first round is top heavy in OTs, probably will go late 1 or early two. Which means he may not be there at 39 let alone55 but he was there in this mock so I grabbed him
-
I want 2 OL and 2WRs and then I don't really care. We don't need to draft RBs, QBs.
-
Ourlads is another website that is run by former scouts that lines player value differently than the general consensus of so called experts. I just take everything in and develop my own opinions and see how they work out. For example, I see Jamboree Salyer/OL from Georgia ending up starting this year somewhere. Read profiles and watch tape to come to that conclusion. We will see, everyone doesn't have him rated very high.
-
I totally think we should have multiple picks at OL and WR. Load up and fix other spots next year. Finish the defense with cheap free agents.
-
For draft info, I look at GBNReport, Draft countdown, Dane Bugler and Matt Miller. Bleacher Report has a lot of Windy city gridiron articles.
-
I think because GMs will like his measurements, he will go before our pick. Tape will say Pickens but would be excited with Watson, Pickens or Pierce. Any TE pick after 71 would be fine. I suspect Kmet takes a step forward and becomes a core player. He had 60 catches last year and with a better passing game could become Fields #2 option in this offense.
-
Not sure what post to put this in but. In all drafts , A player drops. Who is it going to be. The most WRs ever taken in the first round were 6. So its very possible that 8 are gone before pick 39. According to GBNreport, 7 are ranked in the top 40. Since I think Watson gets picked early, should have choices of Pickens, Moore and Pierce. Of the top 8 , who might drop . I think its Jahan Dotson drops. So question 1 ) would you take Dotson over Pickens, Moore or Pierce? If there is a run on WRs and 3 QBs get picked ahead of us, possibly that Zion Johson, Kenyon Green or Bernard Rainman drops. If any of them are there, question 2) would you take them over a WR? If a edge rusher drops, even though we have 3 solid pass rushers on the team, question 3) do you take them over our needs at WR or OL ?
