  1. I have always dismissed Nolan Smith because he clearly is an outside edge LB. Don't think he fits our scheme. Am I wrong about that? I always saw Murphy as one of the Prime DL, he seems to be ranked in the teens now. Did I miss something? Injuries? Bad interviews?
  2. Other than QB, Poles says there are 7 blue chip players . If we move back from 9 , who could fall we could still get? Carter and Anderson will be gone. That leaves 5. Wilson, Gonzalez, Witherspoon, B. Robinson, Skoronski ? Using Dane Blugers top 100, Van Ness and Paris Johnson are next? Is Paris Johnson the pick? Or a trade back, and Broderick Jones? He's ranked 15 th. Van Ness and Nolan Smith are the edge players on his list on the DL. Levis and Richardson are ranked 13 th and 14 th but will go ahead which causes someone to drop. Doubt we take B Robinson, but maybe a CB as best player available. Im calling Paris Johnson or Van Ness.
  3. Thai people are very kind, you want fresh fish and they go out their way to help you out. It's over 90 here every day in April, so they dress accordingly. No other place like it in the world. Now you know why I post so much these days, not much to do .
  4. Van Ness is not ready for Prime time yet but I think he could end up being a beast if they play him inside. I wish it was draft time now. I hate the wait. Bored in Thailand.

You can backup any argument you want with selected tape. I will have to say Edmunds is going to be very good in this defense. If we got no one else to play in the DB backfield, we are going to be a better pass defense with two new LBers that do that well. We got killed on some of those routs that will now be challenged. If we can get two above average draft picks in the DL, this defense will be much better. I got a feeling our first pick will be OL so we will have to have some luck to get two plus DL. I hope he does.

I'm cut from the same cloth. I TRY to be optimistic all the time. I want everything to turn out well. Move to something positive when some moves crash and burn.

  9. Your draft has 7 players that could make major contributions in their first year. How great would that be.
  10. We only have one year to judge Poles draft expertise. He now has all of his men in place to stack he draft. Last year he had leftovers from Pace. Having 5 draft picks in 2022 and ended up with 5 starters until Sanborn was injured. Plus still have Velus Jones to step up in his second year. Brought in Jaylon Jones and Josh Blackwell that looks like valuable backups. I think J'Tre Carter takes a step forward this year also. His first draft still can bring us value in it's second year. Gordon will progress, Brisker turns into a star. Braxton Jones becomes a legitimate LT. Don't under estimate. Dominique Robinson, V Jones, Doug Kramer, Ja'Tyre Carter and Elijah Hicks can still make significant contributions in their second year. The future looks bright with 4 picks in the top 64 players.
  11. One thing for sure, Poles will have a few surprises along the way.
  12. My dream draft Trade 9 , 53, 61 to Pittsburgh for 15, 32, 49 15) Broderick Jones/ OT 32) A Adwbawore/DT 49) Cody Mauch/OC-OG-OT 64) Keon White/edge 103) Jonathon Mingo/WR 133) Tyler Spears/RB Trade 136 for 160 and 172 148) Mekhi Garner/CB 160) Payne Durham/TE 172) Jake Witt/OT 218) Marte Mapu/LB 257) Tanner Morgan/QB
  13. I think the question is does Poles think he can get a good RT at 53 or does he have to take in at 9. 3 OTs clearly stand out in the first tier: Skon, Johnson or Jones. All should be day one starters. At 53 ? Cody Mauch-- Anton Harrison--Matthew Bergeron--Tyler Steen--Jaelyn Duncan. I think the # 1 priority is OL but if one of these can be a Braxton Jones type his first year is that good enough. With Nate Davis next to him and a TE helping , will that work? A 3 T at 53?_ Keon White--Tuli Tuipulotu--A Adebaware--Zach Harrison--Zach Pickens--I figured Edge players that have the size and length. I used The Athletic top 100 for reference. I think he trades back a few spots to get a earlier pick in the second round. Grabs Broderick Jones then gets a 3 T with his next pick. Example: move from 9 to 15( Pittsburgh) give Pitt 53 and 61, we get 32 and 49. Pittsburgh takes the best WR in the draft . At 15 Broderick Jones or Lucas Van Ness. At 32 Anton Harrison or A Adwbawore, we can fill both spots depending on our first pick. We still have 49 and 64 for edge , a center, or CB.
  14. I think Poles has a plan. The off season last year had limitations, but he has assets this year. He got Justin some weapons now. Besides Claypool and Moore, he added a good option at TE. I expect to see growth with Velus Jones also. He's going to add another RB in the draft but think a healthy Herbert will make a big difference. Donte had a 4.5 per carry average last year. He is capable of a lot of good things going forward. I don't think they will draft Robinson because it would have to be at 9. Totally believe 9 will address the OT spot with a blue chip player. He knows what he needs to do to finish the progress of the OL. I think he adds a OC in mid rounds and also a OG late. We need depth also. Ideally he could draft Cody Mauch that could man any spot on the OL and then Wanya Morris/OT that perfectly fits is traits. There are several middle round prospects at center. Olu O, Stromberg, Joe Tippmann, Scruggs. He can fix the OL and stall add to the DL
  15. I don't think he will Trade back up unless its late in the draft. Any of the 3 OL would be starters on this team. At 9 could be the top WR, top OL, or top WR available there. Hell Levis could still be there. Top RB ? Could move back 3-6 spots and still end up with Broderick Jones, or in play for Lucas Van Ness. Plus get another 2 nd or 3rd. Poles probably thinks a later draft pick could still be a starter at RT. Anton Harrison, Wright, Mauch, Jaelyn Duncan, or Blake Freeland. Houston could grab their QB and move from 12 to get a stud RB to start a rebuild with. Giving us # 65? That's an extra another top 65 pick.
  16. I think he will have a break out season in wow plays in this defense. Will compare to Shaq Leonard. 2018, 4 FFs, 8 sacks, 2 ints, 8 pds.
  17. Overall a good draft but think Kancey and AA are virtually going to be playing the 3 T . Doubt he doubles down there. He's a tape of Gabe Gabriel talking about the draft. Long but worth listening to. https://www.youtube.com/live/CgGegky0kcg?feature=share
  18. If we get a RT, our OL will be fine. Better weapons. Added defensive players and we can compete. Don't forget, players get better in year 2. Brisker, Gordon, Jaylon Jones, and Josh Blackwell will improve. Stud LBers. DL will have 4 or 5 new pieces. Robinson should see a big improvement in his second season. Gipson is the one that has a big ? on his back. We'll see.
  19. If Herbert has any kind of injury issues, Foreman could end up being a top 10 RB this year. I've been watching a ton of tape on him plus low mileage as far as NFL standards go. Could be a huge surprise.
  20. Swifty lays the center position out very well.
  21. Actually I agree with you, if we go DL with the first pick, he has some options in rounds 2 and 3 that could still be a day one starter and use the 9 pick on a stud edge rusher. I got a feeling at 9 ( barring a Jalen Carter drop) we trade back and still end up with Lucas Van Ness at 12-16 picks with another 3 rd rounder to pick with. Tip OL and WRs will be available there that a team wants badly. Even Levis could still be there that would net more.
  22. Like you its about what we have to do and what can get by with for another year. On the OL its, have to, RT and would like to, a long term OC. We can live with Whitehair/ Patrick/ Kramer this year but I still think we could add a potential long term starter on day 3 in the draft. The first pick in round 4 could be a OC that dropped. Using tankathon's mock, ( easy navigation ) the only OCs taken are JMS, Avila, Tippmann, and Jarrett Patterson. ONE of them could drop or a few other options still available, O O, Stromberg, Scruggs. I actually think if we got Cody Mauch with a 3 rd round pick, he could play OT, OG or OC as a starter in his rookie year. That would be a valuable pick because of flexibility. My ideal draft would net Mauch in at pick 54, and then get Wanya Morris/OT. at pick 103_He's got 35 1/8" arms, athletic, and fits our scheme. Could be a Braxton Jones get this year. Fix our OL for yrs to come and leaves 3 high draft picks for DL. I see CB as the same as OC. We have starters and some potential backups already here. Josh Blackwell, Jaylon Jones and a less trusted Kindle Vildor. If we miss out on a high draft pick at CB, he could still bring in a vet. ( Rock Ya Sin) We would be okay.
  23. Center could be addressed in this draft. Poles went and watched Juice Scruggs from Penn State. There are 10 prospects at OC this year that could become long term starters. Most people bring up JMS and Wypler but several could be day 3 picks. O!u Oluwatimi and Joe Tillman could land there. If you look at profiles and production, several are similar to Doug Kramer already on our roster. I think we are over looking him as a possible long term solution. O O , Wypler, Scruggs, and Stromberg are all his size. If we take one, it will be from 4 th round and down.
  24. I totally don't believe, 9 is a RB but I never guess anything right and Poles is capable of surprises.
