NFL Draft Day 3 Thread
He's the same size as Kancey and AA. Maybe that's the reason they didn't take AA, they knew they were drafting this guy that fits the same mold.

Players the Bears are meeting with (Updated)
If he's there, Payne Durham is the next pick.

AA will only fit certain D's, so not so easy to place him. I would take him, in the 4 th round, not as much risk if he fails.

NFL Draft Day 2 thread
I heard a Florida beat reporter say that Florida didn't have any depth on the D line so he had to play to much. The first half was where all his production came from and and the second half was terrible. Pickens and Stevenson both played in the senior Bowl under Gresty. So we know those players well.

If he moves up its to grab a 3 T.

That's just a sports journalist rumor. Poles is smarter than that but may move a few spots to get someone. (A lot cheaper)

I think they're several edge players left but only a few 3 T s there. Tuli, White and AA. He'll target the 3 T.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!
I don't think there are sleepers anymore. Sport journalists don't talk about a player, it becomes a sleeper when it never was to a team. They got all stones overturned way before drafts are talked about.

I think the best 3 T left is AA

A Offensive Tackle Drafted By The Bears
We have different leadership now and I believe they will build the trenches in the right way. We can't compare past failures on this GM. He's gets to make his own mistakes.

My opinion is based on what many professionals say, I'm just repeating that notion. It's not an original thought.

I want AA, Cody Mauch for OC, and Derrick Hall.

Skon is going to be an all pro OG or a good LT for10 years. I think Wright has a nasty attitude which made him more desirable. Jenkins, Wright and if they draft Mauch, that's a lot of physically for an oline.

NFL Draft Day One thread.
Skronski is going to be a very good player but something Wright brings to the table is nasty. He's a large mean man that's going to play10 years in the league. His best3 games were against LSU, Anderson and Carter. That says something. In a Anderson interview, he said the best OL he played against was Wright and not even close. Now draft Cody Mauch and you have the two most physical OL in the draft.

Wright was a superior pass blocker but has work to do in the running game. It's about Justin Fields.

NFL Draft Day One thread.
They clearly had no trade options and got a next year pick for free. A fourth is just draft capital. I wanted Carter but I didn't get to interview him. He may be a stud for the Eagles but they have a vet team. The key is definitely get Fields going this year, D J Moore , Tonyan, Davis, and Wright. Sounds good.

A Case for JSN...
Probably referring to National press that mocks RB, and WR alk the time with the first pick.

Valladay is a sneaky good pick.

2023 NFL Free Agency Open Thread (Pinned)
As the draft approaches , there are many good free agents left on the market. Also some will be released as rookies are signed. We are first claim on the waiver wire to add vets. So if we miss a position upgrade, we can still fix the roster. We still have the highest amount of money to spend. I think its critical to add a RT, Edge, and 3 T in the draft. There are good options on defense yet but thin at OL in free agency. I think that comes into play with our first pick to make sure we get a RT. PJJ-Jones-Wright-Skoronski- Harrison. Outlier: Mauch-Bergeron-Freeland-Duncan-Morris.

Final Mock draft from the Bearstalk Crew...
Those are good names but I think the first 4 picks need to be starters. Musgrave and Mingo could be future starters, granted Wypler could be a starter in his first year. The CB is only 5'8", and 176 with 29" arms. I don't think Poles drafts a CB that small. Coburn's size is that of a 3 T but only had 7 sacks in 1600 snaps.

The Bears Big Board
The Bears use the term BPA a lot but by who's list? It's their list. They're 32 different big boards, they will just tell you he was the highest rated player on their board. Almost by everyone's list, Bjan Robinson is probably going to be the best player available at that spot. It's also position value that will come in to play. If they took Robinson, I won't hate it but their is value later in the draft at RB, so I don't see them doing that.

The Bears Big Board
Actually, if that's all it would take, I would but moving around in the top 10 probably going to cost more than that.

The Bears Big Board
I don't see Poles giving up draft capital. He moved from one to add where he could have added Anderson. A 9 to 5 move would eliminate most of what he picked up. In the second, if he could move a few spots to get something maybe but I think he pretty admitted to accepted a group of players and not focus on one.
-
A Case for JSN...
You know Poles likes players that play with an attitude. Wright , Mauch, and Bergeron fit that bill as OTs. I think we end up with one.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!
I heard this discussed on a podcast. How many huge lineman had a long hearlded career in the NFL? They only came up with one . Huge men have a few good years and their bodies break down. They usually have a problem controlling their weight later in their career. I tend to agree. Jones may be the exception but history is not on his side.
