UDFAs
Sanborn led one of the better Ds in the NCAA in tackles. A Kwit type of LBer. The SAM is only on the field 30% of the time in the Flus defense, maybe a surprise and starts.

Roster optimism
I wrote this without including any thoughts on UDFAs . They have added 35 so far. There has to be a few surprises in that group that will be added to the roster.

Draft Day 3
He was a WR that converted to RB, could be a Tarik Cohen type pass catcher with 4.42 speed, same as Cohen.

Roster optimism
I like what Poles has done. Stuck to BPA ( good teams do that) , not what I wanted but what's best. He hasn't bogged the team down with high priced contracts like Pace did. Traded Mack for cap relief. Mack hasn't been Mack for a few years, so that was a good decision. He has rebuilt the roster but I think with the possibility of winning this year. DEFENSE: This defense will be better than last year. Our first two picks should start and I think they bring Ogunjobi back. DE: Q Mohammed- Quinn-Gipson-Snowden- Robinson. ( with Mack hurt) better than last yr. DT: Ogunjobi?-Jones-Edwards- Tonga-Blackson (Hicks was hurt , Goldman sucked) better LB:Smith Morrow- Adams-Calieb Johnson- Mack Snowden. ( may still bring in FA at SAM) more speed, A push because Ogletree was good. CB: Johnson- Gordon-Young--Graham- Vidor-Stroman. Definitely better S: AJAC-Brisker-Cruikshank-HCD definitely better With the new coaching staff, the added speed and change in scheme, I think this will a 10-12th ranked defense with an uptick in TOs. OFFENSE: The key is Fields improvement this year. I think with the new coaching staff , better play calling, it looks totally different. QB: Fields-- Sieman. Fields will look like a different QB, better play calling, better use of talent RB: Montgomery--Herbert's Evans --Blasingame. strongest group on team, adding a FB much better. WR:Mooney--Pringle--Jones Jr-- St Brown--David Moore--Newsome. IMO much better (AROB was bad) IMO Jones JR is the surprise of camp,( Deebo Samuel Clone )and Pringle will be good TE:Kmet--O'Shannessy--Griffin-Horsted. I think Kmet takes a step forward and Hosted gets a shot Better OT: Jenkins Borom--Davenport--Jones This is still a question mark but I think Jenkins is the real deal. Jones could surprise OG : Whitehair--Dozier--Thomas--Carter--Eiselen still a question mark. IMO JaTyre Carter ends up being a surprise and starts. OC: Patrick--Mustifer--Kramer. much better. ST: Santos--Gill Trenton-- Winslow KR: Jones--Ebner I think with better play calling, Fields takes a step, better coaching, Jenkins shines, Jones JR surprise playmaker, and Kmet and Hosted step up, we have an offense that can score points. Change my mind

Draft Day 3
The Robinson/ DE selection ( ton of upside) is almost identical to Charlie Snowden UDFA. from last year. 6.22 NFL rating. The 4th option at DE may already be on the roster, plus he was better against the run. He is listed as a LB on bear's website, so maybe he is our SAM LB.

Draft Day 3
I agree, it may not have worked out as the board played out but never addressed it at all. I think they may have targeted a DT and he ended up being gone, so backup plan Is Ogunjobi coming back here.

Draft Day 3
He's definitely looking for specific traits in the OL. I think that's why Daniels is gone. I think Daniels was athletic but may not have had the (nasty ) attitude he was looking for. May have considered him to soft. Remember when he praised Jenkins for defending Fields when he was hit out of bounds, Daniels was no where to be found. He first tried to sign Brian Allen but lost out to the SB champs. ( offered more money) Patrick has the attitude, knows the scheme, A leader type, fights every snap so as a backup plan at OC, he fits well. I think the reason screens and jet sweeps were not more successful was the lineman couldn't get to their spots to block. After the evaluation of current roster he still may need to get Fisher or Brown to play LT. I think he is serious about getting the OL fixxed. Davenport may be the LT in this scheme, physically is a NFL LT but lacks consistency. Braxton Jones may be the LT of the future but doubt he would start this year. The bears didn't address OL early but from what I've read, Ja'Tyre Carter may be the surprise start at RG that Poles drafted. Seen an interview with the bear regional scout that was responsible for bringing him here and had high praise v for him.

UDFAs
Aaron Lemining puts out a list, that has 35 on it . He seems to be on to top of UDFAs

Draft Day 3
I don't think they will, not even close to being garbage. He's a fighter and leader on offense. Total effort but not your home run RB.
-
Draft Day 2
It will be interesting to see how good Jones, is, Poles passed up several higher rated WRs to take him. I think he still grabs a bigger WR to compete with ST Brown. Several out there.

Draft Day 3
At this point of the draft they are drafting players they figured for priority free agents. Ebner/ RB was compared to Tony Pollard . Is a KR and is an excellent receiver with 4.42_speed. Lining players up in case they don't resign Monty.
-
Draft Day 3
The reason he dropped was his lack of experience. Only played DE for two yrs and didn't start. Probably not good against the run . Was picked 3rd team all conference as a backup. 4.5 sacks and 10 TFL as a backup.

Draft Day 2
I've read every article and watched every tape I could find on Jones. I know I'm being delusional but if he is 75% of Deboo, we got a playmaker on the team. Jet sweeps, screens, deep threat .ß
-
Draft Day 2
He will absolutely be the starter on KO and PR. The deep threat and gadget guy on offense. I don't doubt Poles drafts a OL in the 5th that starts at RG this year.

Draft Day 2
Been reading a lot about Jones. He is physically the same size as Deebo Samuel. Deebo 4.48, Jones 4.31. Both were used as KRs, and in the run game in college. Both had around 62 catches their senior year. Deebo scored a lot more but comparable. Jones could be a sneaky good pick. He will be a multi use tool in the NFL.

Watching the Draft with the Rams
There is always a couple of surprises early.

Draft Day 2
That works to, I was trying to find someone that played under the OC to compare to.

Draft Day 2
Last year, 30% of rosters in the NFL were UDFAs, I'm sure he will bring in a large number and may luck out and a couple that prove out to be good. A lot of their visits were late round or Priority free agents . If he needs to , he can still bring in Eric Fisher or Duane Brown. We are not stuck . Would you guys be happy if our 2 5th round picks were Cris Paul/ OG and Matt Waletzko/OT? I could live with that.
-
Draft Day 2
I don't think you find a starting LT outside of the first round. One to develop that could play OG his first year would be a good get. The problem is, we don't know how Poles evaluated Jenkins and Borom, he may think they can be good which lessens the need in a high pick. There are still a ton of names still out there. I've been looking at tape and my best comparison is Randall Cobb but not as good a route runner. Cobb was productive out of the slot and taking screen passes. He is faster wth an Cobb. He will return kicks and be our deep threat. I don't think he is a #1 but if Mooney, Pringle and Jones all ascend to #2 WRs, that a good WR room. If he got a little Tarik Cohen and Devin Hester in him , just be a playmaker in a more limited role, we did good.

Watching the Draft with the Rams
Olin Kruetz was on a live CHGO podcast and they did some shots . I think the reason the Rams reacted that way was they thought they could get Strange with their first pick, A 4th I think.
-
Draft Day 2
The best way to succeed in the draft is to take BPA but I wanted offense. Any need they miss , they will target in free agency.i think they can still find a starting guard in the fifth.
-
Draft Day 2
Poles has some OL prospects that are still out there. Risker in the 5th but possibly. Last year KC got a starter in the 6th round. Tyler Smith.
-
Draft Day 2
The more you look, the more you like. He's got speed, 4.31 had the biggest YAC of anyone in this draft, 8' YAC . He gives them a deep threat and kills when he has the ball in his hands. Just developing as a WR. If he can contribute day one as a returner.
-
Draft Day 2
Not what I would have did but if you watch his highlights, he's got some game to him. Top kick and punt returner in the SEC.
