  1. Are you shittin me? Hoyer leads us to the playoffs? Jay is only a part of the problem. He is an average QB that is getting beat up and not is back to his bad habits. There are a lot of bad QBing going on in the NFL right now. We look to him to be a savior and he is not. He is a QB that would be ok if the rest of the team is good, but he will never get us to the promise land on his back.
  2. I try to find reasons to be optimistic, but last night was a big slap in the face. I hate to say it but the offense seems like it a boat adrift on the water with no paddles. They have no identity. What are they trying to do? It is not a running team. They are predictable and do not seem to be able to adjust to the flow of the game. The offensive line is a mess, therefore Jay is getting beat up and now is back to is old habits of bad mechanics and bad turnovers. The only bright spots on the whole team are the play of the two middle LBers. They are totally into the game, but the rest of the defense is a mess. They invested in the OL and the front seven and they have both been failures so far. Two games does not make a season, but is sure does not look good so far. I think in a few games the OL with fine some continuity and maybe when McPhee gets back, some pressure. ( if he ever gets to play). I thought they were a 7-9 or 8-8 team this year so this is all not a surprise but now lets just play the young guys, get a high pick and draft a frecking QB and go forward with the rebuild. We need to remember this team drafted terrible for many years and you do not change that overnight. The core of the team show be the drafts from 3 to 5 years ago, and Jeffery is the only good player from that era. So play the young guys, get a high draft pick, find a QB prospect and next year, things will look better going forward. Plus side: the two middle LBers Hall seems to be a player White seems to be starting to get it. Also we would probably be a better team with BM,MB, and MF on it but our future was be a year or two away from being gone. We didnt win anything with them on it, so I am buying in on remaking the roster, and next year should show better signs of who we are.(it aint right now)
  3. That figures , you started it.

Howard will be our lead back by mid season, like you said, Langford will be the change of pace back.

Forte is still a good player, but 3.3 is a telling statistic. It is a 16 game season and he wont be playing all the games because of his age. He will have a good first half of the season then will be dinged up. Then the downhill slide begins. I wish him well, be he isnt a juggernaut anymore. Grizzly's live longer than NFL rbs, thats a fact of life .

I explain it by the fact, obviously the brass doesnt agree with you. Look he is an average QB,I would say around 15 to 20 range, but serviceable. When we get the opportunity for change they will jump on the chance, just hasnt happened yet.

they played so well we might as well both become Jets fans. I hope Matt well, but he wont make the season fully healthy. Good teams get rid of players one year before not one year after. We have a new agenda-getting younger, we had BM and MF and MB and we didnt win anything so its time to try something different.
  8. The third best D in the league last year came to play in the second half, and once they took the lead, they unloaded on them.
  9. he needs to step up in the pocket, the Ots are getting killed , there is space up front.
  10. We have a long ways to go, some good some bad, it will be this way all year.
  11. Ya, if White have finish his route that would have been a contested pass and not been an interception.
  12. no big deal, we have plenty to talk about
  13. He will have a learning curve but throw him to the fire early so we can get those mistakes out of the way. It is about putting the best 5 on the field and in the end this will pay off.

Thats all good, we are closer to being on the same page than I actually want to accept.

Maybe I am wrong, but its seems like every move we make , you take on a negative stance. They will be many transactions that we will be able to criticize Pace and Fox, but I am just trying to let time determine the outcome and not jump on a negative view at this time. I choose to be an optimist and hope for the best. For example, as good as BM has been in New York, he had wore out his welcome here and had heard in many articles that vets had stated (how much better the locker room has been since he is gone. It was just a team chemistry thing that is vital to change to a winning culture.
  16. Drafts take 3 years to evaluate. Houston's Clowney was the first player taken a couple of years ago and how is that working for them. All first round draft picks aren't instant successes. I think if people complain enough about everything then they can say I told you so. If you think every move was bad then you will be right once in awhile. Give it till next year and see how everything turns out.

Alaskan (Doomsday) Grizzly, hey you forgot they changed the color of the carpet in the locker room, you havent bitched about that yet. We dont know how this all turns out, but I do know if we keep everybody we use to have, we would still be losers. We went to the playoffs once in 9 years, you really want to keep all the players that made us a bad team.I am all in on trying something different for a change.

You always question everything. Until they actually play some games , how do you know how this all turns out. What I like is if they screw up, they wont keep a guy for sake of looking bad. They rebuilding our team and they will make some smart moves and some mistakes, that is just the way it is.

They paid Royal good money for a reason. As a healthy slot wr, he has valve. His last year in SD was quite successful for him.

The problem is Fox doesnt trust Gould, so he was looking for a good reason to get a different kicker. He missed two extra points in the last preseason game. Fox went to Pace and asked, can we get a new kicker now? He is the second highest paid kicker in the league and probably ranked around 15- 20. It was just time to go. They dont think this is a SB type team this year so time to change to the future and grab back 2.9 mil. It is easy to see why this happened.
  21. I think it is a combination of many thinks. There are 3 OLineman with contracts up this year and they will not be able to pay all of them. They have been drafting OL the last few years and you have to transition to younger at some point in time.
  22. Yes I totally agree, it is about getting better for tomorrow not necessarily for today.
  23. Stinger226 replied to Wesson44's topic in Bearstalk
He has more upside that Mariani, because of his injuries last year, people forget how good he was the year before he came here. You have to deal with the moment , not presume someone will be injured. It may happen anyways but go with the better player for now.If Royal bets hurt they will bring in Braveman, he is on the practice squad.
  24. Stinger226 replied to 'TD''s topic in Bearstalk
I suspect they keep him until they seen someone they liked, but I dont have a problem with this, he had a lousy preseason and was definity not as good last year for us. If i remember we lost two games because of him last year.
  25. Even though we have a solid rookie in Whitehair, Sitton is a total upgrade, besides Longs injury could end his season at any time, so this is a great addition to the team. Let Whitehair get his lumps early and then if Long blows up we at least have Larson to fill in. Great move, Sitton was 2nd team probowl last year and its hard to say why GB let him go but I suppect they are looking to the future.I would guess Rodgers didnt like the move.
