He was a quality CB, just didn't get the TOs. Last year changed after we finally got a pass rusher. Poles sticks value on players and doesn't exceed that. Roqaun Smith was also an all pro. This is how he keeps good cap space. At worst he's here one more year and gives Terrell Smith time to develop more. Its not a problem.

This is April fools day every day these days. Some rumors may. be true but which ones are ?

You don't have to like Flus but if we make the playoffs and have a top 3 defense, will you change your mind? If one in a million chance happens and Justin is here, how will you react to that? I have never said your opinions are ridiculous or just Justin hating but there are more than one option. I just keep that part of the conversation alive since half the,fan base likes Justin.
-
Okay, I understand now, you're just giving your opinions, not predicting anything. Im only throwing out my opinions , the same as you. So Justin is gone and we're drafting a QB isn't a prediction. Got it.

I have already stated, I have no problem if Poles decides to draft Williams, a different QB, or brings Justin back for another year. I'm stuck on looking at all the options. Why is that a problem for you? Poles is in the best spot to make the right choice. I'm all in on the team winning, not that I guessed right.

The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!

If i remember correctly, didn't Justin play well against the Broncos? Maybe Payton looks to Justin for his answers. 28/35 335 4 tds, 1 int. Rushing 4 for 25 yards. They have pick 52 in the second. Payton knows how to build an offense around the talent of the QB. They are in the hole because of dead money with Wilson. Fields is only making 8 mil this year, picking up his 5 th option, goes into effect after the Wilson dead money is off the books. They have 7 players over 13 mil a year. Anyone want Justin Simmons , Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, DT Zack Allen. Allen had 56 Ts, 5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 Pd, 50 pressures. He's 27, 6'5", 285. His salary for 2024/ 19 mil, 2025 17 mil, 2026/3.7 mil. That's a doable contract. How about trade Justin for Jerry Jeudy and Zach Allen. Jeudy makes 13 mil in the last year of his contract. Did 54-758 2 TDs. Missed one game to injuries. It would save Denver 20 mil if these 2 were traded according to OTC. How would the WR room look with DJ, Jeudy, Brian Thomas, Tyler Scott.+1 Just playing fantasy football. -
I think the writing is on the wall, it's not Justin being traded but the first pick instead. Caleb blowing off the physical, first at the Combine then 2 days later takes Poles out of the Williams market. He may trade back and take Maye or Daniels but not doing the Williams pick anymore. IMO.

Totally understand your points, no problem with your opinion. Other people don't share your opinion but you keep saying ( baffled anyone thinks otherwise) and then compare (thinking Justin isn't terrible), to flat earth truthers. Those comments speak for themselves . There is no right or wrong about Flus. Only your prediction he was gone was wrong. He may very well valid your opinion or he could turn out to be a good HC. We have a front row seat to that movie. The right or wrong about Flus will happen one year from now after they play a season of football. The Bears are my favorite sports team and I'm routing for them to win, not be right about a coaching decision.

We agree on something. The NFL media is pounding the idea he is traded before free agency. No way that happens. I agree he has no value right now. He will be teams options when teams don't get players they want. IF he gets traded, it will be during the draft only after Poles gets the QB he wants. Its also Poles backup plan.
-
Bates backed up Mitch Morse considered one of the best centers in the league last year. At worst a quality backup with a chance to start at center. A 5 th rounder he would have gotten sits at least one year before he helps the team. This is a quality value move that is a better option than Patrick ever was. He's going to add a rookie but not in the first round. I think this is a sign we will be moving out of our picks for more draft capital now that he only has 5 available right now. 2 1sts, 1 3rd, and 2 4 ths. No way he's going with that in the draft. Scenario :_ he moves 1 to 2 and gets 2 extra 2nd round picks and a future 2 nd. Trades back from 2 to 8_with Atlanta and gets another 2 nd, 3 rd and a future 1. If he drafts a QB , he could at 8. JJM, Nix or Penix could still be there. Anyone other than Williams will need a year to sit. I'm back on the Justin stays for another year and we draft a developmental QB kick. He's not trading Fields and he's not drafting Williams. A GM that wants to build thru the draft is not staying with only 5 picks. IMO this is the route Poles takes. I am predicting this, not trying to valid my opinion. Ends up with 9 picks in this draft all 4 th round and higher. Adds 2 future picks also. He's trying to win this year and have a future QB to continue with.
-
I agree , he's much better than Patrick or Whitehair was last year. I think we draft a center but it won't be in the first few rounds.
-
He's in the mix to start if Jenkins is injured or Davis stays bad. If he has played center before then he is our new center. I didn't know that.
-
I have no problem with your opinion , the truth is other smart people don't agree with you. Dave Wannsted is an analyst on several programs. He's paid to give opinions and has contacts in football. You're telling me he can't have watched all 22 because he doesn't agree with you. That is exactly the type of statements you make that makes no sense. I guarantee you he has put in much more time on this subject that you have. I listen to him several times a week.
-
I accept that can happen, what's funny is you completely dismiss he could stay. I will leave this site if he gets traded before free agency. You can't say that because you already left and popped up one day later, I hold true to things I say.

You speak in absolutes, Justin is terrible. I get blowing off anyone's opinion in here, we're just fans but many football people doesn't agree with you. You keep dismissing anyone that disagrees with you. I value Dave Wannsted 's opinion over you. I value DJ Moore's opinion over yours. I can list 20 people that I trust more than your opinion but that's a mute task because you think you've smarter than them. You have every right to have your opinion but so does everyone else.

I heard it on the SCORE and have now seen on X. It's about the medicals, not a 20 minute meeting at the Combine. To complete their pre draft process they need the medicals. Caleb blow off the Combine and now has turned down the immediate meeting right after the combine. I think their buying into Caleb and that's why they want to finish their process but he delayed that for 2 weeks. They are not trading Fields before they know who their drafting, clearly this screws up their plans. That's a red flag to not want to visit the most likely team that drafts you after blowing off the medicals at the Combine. He is only player to ever not do the medicals at the Combine. Is he hiding something? No one knows because he's not playing ball with the information process. It's a red flag
-
One of the reasons Caleb bailed from the Bowl game was because he had a hamstring injury. Also he had a hand injury during the season but played thru it. No GM is not going to consider medicals when planning their draft strategy. You gamble on players in the third round and above, not with the first pick in the draft. We're talking about what Poles is going to do, he's to smart to gamble with the first pick in the draft. He may end up drafting Williams but he is not trading Fields before he has that information. Right now everything in NFL circles is assumptions. Caleb is generational, Bears are automatically taking Caleb. Fields has no market. Their will be no market on Fields until the draft. 9 teams could upgrade their QB position in this draft. There are 6 draftable QBs that could be future starters. According to experts. There are few options in Free agency, Cousins and Mayfield come to mind. The teams are just now making their plans after the combine. Fields is not anybody's first option if they can still draft a QB of which won't be clear until after free agency . Wilson is now part of the options so until him, Cousins and Mayfield are signed the starter questions are up in he air. That brings it down to 6 teams still needing QBs, until they figure out they can't get their guy in the draft, then they will attempt to get Justin. It will be on draft day if he gets traded at all.
-
Breers is clearly wrong, that's not a rumor . Most news you here now are opinions. Poles lets no information out, we have two years of proof of that fact. Any GM that plans on basing its off-season choices with incomplete information, will not be a GM very long. Poles already got burned with signing Larry O and then he flunked the physical, that changed his whole plan his first year. Poles was all in on Caleb and that's why they scheduled the visit right away to finish the process. Caleb blowing it off matters with trading Fields but may not affect drafting him. I guarantee Poles is pissed about this. Caleb is the only player to ever blow off the Combine medicals . That's not a feather in his cap.
-
It was Caleb that blew off the physical. That's not a rumor. The Bears requested the interview immediately so they could finish the important part of the pre draft process, the medicals. That's the whole reason the Combine was started. Anyone that thinks the medicals doesn't matter will never get an NFL job. You are not basing your whole off-season plans on a player you don't have all the information on. To risky for that high of a pick. Now they will get the info before the draft but not having it now affects trading Fields . Poles still thinks Justin is one of his options. We have no idea which way he's going to go yet and the fact Caleb's process is incomplete changes what he does now.

Yes it hurts the trade market. -
Listening to the SCORE this morning and he blew the visit off . It's now supposed to be until the end of March. Free agency will be almost over by then. Not being able to trade Justin this week going to change the story line. Look for the first pick traded this week. The top rated CB going into the Combine did the physical and they found a Johnson fracture in his leg. I have no idea what that is but it will affect his draft position.
-
There is a problem blowing in the wind right now. With Caleb not doing the medicals at the Combine, the Bears tried to schedule his visit on Tuesday and he blew them off . It won't happen for a few weeks. No way Poles is trading Justin without doing the physical on Williams. Poles ain't going to bank that his medical is okay with that number one pick so it will screw up the time line. A bad decision on Caleb's part. Bad JuJu.

He is absolutely in play. Odds of getting JPJ are slim . We may have a shot at Zach Frasier in the second round but if we bring in a quality center we will get one later in the draft. Why Tanor is interesting is he literally has played every position on TBE OL. That's a huge value. -
If he passes all the character tests by Poles, he will be drafted by Poles.
