Bears assistant signings: QB coach, a WR/Assistant head coach, and DB coach
I hear he's a hard ass, big on discipline and demanding a lot. It can't hurt. I expect them to draft a RB this year but not in the first 4 picks. If Cunningham is gone the 100th pick would be a good spot. Since the OL isn't complete yet I doubt we jump on a top RB.

Chicago Bears hiring Eric Bieniemy as RBs coach
Some people just don't have the personality to be a HC. Assistants have a small room to deal with and HC have to deal with the masses. He's a big catch for simple reason KC always put value in running and were successful.

Senior Bowl
True but we don't have 4 first round picks to apply to the OL so getting a high end free agent replaces that void. No centers are high rated in the draft unless you get a position change player. If they don't draft a pick 10 OT we will have to place trust in Braxton playing better. A blue chip rookie could be the LG but that would have some growing pains. I think with the new blood injected in the process, we will get better results from however they put it together. We're not going to 25th to 5 th in one year no matter how they put it together.

It's Ben Johnson
Has anyone seen whether Cunningham was going to Jacksonville? I have seen a few mentions but don't know if it's true. It would be pick #100 if true.

Poles didn't completely ignore the OL. Wright was a high pick. He signed Davis last year that was above average but after the death of his mother, he didn't care anymore. Jenkins played well and he was giving him the last year to prove he could stay healthy. ( He didn't) Drafting Braxton Jones was a risk he took and thought he succeeded but he didn't get better this year. Drafted a future prospect in Kiran to develop if Braxton failed. Needed him this year but wasn't ready. Patrick and Whitehair failed last year so double dipped with Bates and Shelton at center. Bates was to injured and Shelton actually did okay. I think because he was a marginal player when he tried the NFL, he thought he could build a OL with some marginal free agents and Wright and Braxton. Several failures doomed the OL coming into the year. They are a few IOL that would be upgrades but will not come cheap. Trey Smith, Becton, and Dave Dalman.I think he tries to get one, resigns Shelton, Pryor and Bill Murray. Drafts a starting OT or OG( both ?) depending on how the draft falls. A center prospect to seat behind Shelton until he's ready. Example: Kelvin Banks - moves Kiran to LG- Shelton and a rookie - Trey Smith- Wright. Braxton, Pryor, Murray and 2 rookies for backups. Problem solved.

Doesn't anyone know he's been healthy at his current weight?

It's Ben Johnson
Detroit will still be a good team, but the fact Goff isn't a great QB and new coaches adjusting will take some time.

Senior Bowl
I read about him and last year gave up one sack and this year got hurt in the 6th game. Many draftniks said if not hurt would have been the top rated OT. I don't think the injury will prevent him from not going to training camps A 5 star recruit out of college

At least take a year to get back up to speed, they have a lot of talent there. Minny has to adjust to JJ becoming the QB and GB has a mediocre QB. It may be the perfect storm to get to the top of the division.

My best case scenario is signing a Trey Smith or Kevin Zeilter RG, bring back Shelton and and draft a multiple position OL, that could fit where you need him and draft a center prospect to sit behind Shelton until he's ready.

Senior Bowl
I would love that scenario. Also I have seen where Marus Mbow is a OT from Purdue that is a center candidate. A second or third round pick.

I get the impression he is Mcvay and Shanahan type of coach. Hope I'm right.

Caleb Williams QBR Tracker
At least you acknowledge his success, no QBs are perfect, I see Mahomes lock on WRs at times. I think he has been great this season and if sometimes he locks on WRs, I don't care. Caleb holds the ball to long, you don't seem to bring that up very much. I still think Caleb will be great inspite of holding the ball to long.

The latest rumor i just heard was the Bears are enamered by Will Johnson/CB and will trade up in the draft to get him. Where do these idiots come from?

Had he fired Flus a year ago who would have been the HC? I'm saying Johnson is heads above a last year hire.
-
Reflection
Last year the home run would have been Jim Harbaugh but Warren had a problem with him in the Big 10. So we got Flus back. To me, Johnson seems like a Mcvay or Shanahan type of hire. Did destiny have us go thru a reset year to get us to the right Coach and drafted QB? Had we had a winning season, Flus could still be here. I'm going with the Bears God lined the Stars for this union to take place. Instead of talking about winning seasons, I think we are going to be talking about how many SBs did we win 10 years from now.

Saints Dennis Allen is a likely DC
The only rumors I totally trust comes from Ryan Poles when he announces it.

Senior Bowl
I remember we went after McGlinchey but he wouldn't pay over 12 mil and thank God Denver paid more, 5/87.5 mil. Free agency rarely gets value.

I tend not to believe rumors but I do trust Biggs. He seems not to jump on just any rumor.

It's Ben Johnson
I'm in Thailand now so my news is opposite time zones. NO has a history of good lines of which must have been Boucher. I liked Shaw also. We don't know if all of this will be successful but sure looks like it from this point. The lack of success on our OL had to fall mainly on Morgan. It just never seemed in sync.We talk about replacing everyone but Lucas Patrick changed teams last year and played much better. I totally believe Morgan should take most of the blame. There may be some answers to our OL problems still on the team. Braxton Jones actually taking a step forward. Kiran A looking like a NFL player.

They talked to Allen first and appears to be signing him. Anyone they added before Allen signed is probably already with his approval. They talked to all these HC candidates before and I think all both knew Johnson was the guy. I think all decisions were already discussed before these assistants were hired. I think they are in lockstep.

Draft prospects
I think they get one bonafide starter, Trey Smith or Kevin Zeilter then resign Shelton and Pryor, and Bill Murray Jones - Kiran or Murray - Shelton - Pryor - Wright They add 3 draft picks and let the best five start.
-
Draft prospects
Both play RG but I'm sure pros can change without a lot of trouble. FAgency will be first so what we aquire will determine our draft. Lots more depth on DL in the draft, so that makes sense.adding 3 rookie starters on the OL could be problematic. I am torn between what step we make first. If Banks is available, that could be the pick and move either Kiran or Braxton to left guard depending on their choice. So getting a RG in FA leavs is with drafting a center with 72 if it falls that way. Resign Shelton to start until the rookie is ready. My other choice would be to draft Will Campbell and make him the center and a high pick guard to play LG. That's Jones/Kiran at LT, rookie at LG, Campbell at C, Smith/Zietier at RG, Wright.

Another big guy is Alfred Collins, huge man. If we get one of those big body choices our interior will tighten up quickly in the run game. Kenneth Grant weights 339 also.

Other news: Ian Cunningham moving on to 2nd round with Titans
It may be the second most important hire.
