  1. I hear you, but I don’t agree that race necessarily played a part in this issue nor many other issues that the media would have us believe. I will leave it there as I don’t want to infect a great sports page with political issues. I hope that this site stays well away from politricks. I never post much due to knowing full well I don’t know as much as probably everyone else here about football and tending to put my foot firmly in my mouth at times, particularly after losses and other aggravating events. I visit this site daily multiple times and count on it while so many things in my personal life change and I can’t count on them anymore. Thanks everyone, and back to my hidey hole I go, lol.
  2. I have a really hard time buying that. How did Lovie get a job if black is an issue? Geez….

Sorry, when discussions about keeping him came up I assumed his contract was ending. I certainly would never sign him to a big contract again, regardless of excuses he sucked for the last two years.

I wouldn’t even consider signing him again, he and Goldman could start a club for players who played lights out in the year before their contract is due and then absolutely dogging it until their next contract is coming up. Please rewind back to the last two years before falling in love with this pretender
  5. Very exciting to see a potential star QB in Chicago.

He must be due to get a new contract, he has taken how many years off since his last one?
  7. I love these coaches, feel so much more optimistic with the current regime
  8. I agree, I think we are in trouble. I hope I am wrong but I don’t feel the future looks good with Fields.
  9. Please for once do the right thing and dump the players who need to be dumped. Let someone else deal with this guy and take what we can get. And on his way out, he can take that press statement and shove it straight up his ass.
  10. Hard to pay wide receivers when the QB is sucking up so much of the cap money.
  11. I hope he goes soon. He is a distraction and a nut job. Get what you can and be happy you don’t have to put up with his behaviour again when he wants something. He will be a washout that will never fulfill his potential due to his vast ego
  12. This guy pulled a stunt early on in his time here and he is obviously a bit strange to think that he doesn’t need an agent to manage his affairs like most everyone else. Then he puts out that ignorant press statement. I hope he is gone even if we don’t get what we want for him. I don’t want to cheer for prima donnas like that. And, who needs to pay for a top 5 ILB who wants to be paid like the best? The position doesn’t warrant the money
  13. But who wants a cuckoo kicking up fuss like this? Linebackers are not a high value position. I would dump him now for a good trade or draft pick.
  14. It’s unfortunate but he needs an agent.

Aren’t we glad that Pace moved up to get another sure thing? I remain shocked that management watched Pace moving up and giving away picks for years and did nothing. Is it really that hard to understand it is not a good idea to constantly mortgage your future for supposed instant success? How many times did the Bears move up and give away future draft picks under the Pace regime? Any of the top 10 posters on this site could have done better. What a joke.
  16. I think we are lucky to win six games. New systems, new coaches, questionable QB. Not a lot of big time talent on the team. Can hope we come out of the season feeling good about some of our players and look forward to a full draft and lots of cap space available
  17. I don’t follow closely enough to comment on the picks specifically but from what I have read we seem to have done the best we could with the picks we had. We aren’t going to be anywhere close to contention this year so BPA was the way to go. What I really like is that we didn’t trade up and instead traded down to get more picks. The previous regimens constantly trading up and giving away future picks was something I never thought was wise and smacked of desperation. I feel the previous regimens decisions were very poor with the results speaking for themselves. I hope the current management will build the team into a contender piece by piece, resulting in a consistently respectable team. Fans deserve better than what we have had for many years. The Bears will lose their fan base if they don’t do better.
  18. Another testament to Pace and co failures
  19. It sounds like the Bears have indeed become “pussies”. Slaves to the modern day definition of politically correct behaviour. Not what I signed up for when I became a fan in the 1960’s. I will keep an eye on developments but will be watching closely and checking out if this is so. This team seems to be rotten at the very core
  20. Agreed with your point that we are going to have to accept a bad team for awhile, I would say two to three years. I hated moving up all of the time in the draft. Apart from Fields it was a waste. Overpaying for free agents regularly, Glennon has to be one of the biggest wastes of money ever. The philosophy is wrong, always going for today’s answers and ignoring tomorrow completely. If the Bears don’t dump the management this year I will stop watching, buying or supporting in any way until they do
  21. Check out the poll on this site from earlier this year asking which QB should start. Just like the fan pressure from every angle the choice was Fields. Dalton would have likely given better results this year but oh well throw the rookie in and get him killed while we lose games anyway. Another rebuilding phase to come with at least two years of suckdom. Only good thing to look forward to is dumping the entire coaching and management staff, which this loss pretty much guarantees.
  22. Pace has given up so many draft picks over the years. That has hurt us this year, next year and for the last several years. Poor long term strategy.
